  • Nice voices, but WAY too fast!!!!

  • Merveilleuse pièce que celle-ci

  • Fresh and suprising. Very good.

  • Hi, in which state you live? I would like to invite you to the festival. Ramunas from Lithuania operabufa@yahoo.com

     Greetings

  • pretty voices! just work a bit more on pronunciation and speed!

  • The singing is allright, but somewhat too quick. The pronunciation of the German is poor. But you do have talent!

  • It is not by Johann Sebastian...

  • wow, it seems they want to die really fast...I guess the text would make more sense in an adagio. but nice singing of both!

  • they have such great voices!!! i love this piece:)

  • A Hollywood version of Bist Du Bei Mir

  • I am sure that the Musical Director of these two lovely young ladies explained the meaning of the song, although I am sure even if they tried singing it with more expression this particular arrangement just sounds so happy that I would not fault the Singers. Besides what do two sweet young Vocalists know about love and death? I think that at their age they should just enjoy singing and making pretty sounds as the understanding of this music will come all too soon.

  • Nice effort, although too fast and poor phrasing. The voices were nice though. Keep up the good work!

  • singing this for chorus... they dont understand it so it sounds happy.. when its not

  • stand staight

  • Hi Kayla and Kara, you have beautiful voices, go on with exercising :) Short comments referring to this little music: Bach wrote it for his beloved wife Anna-Magdalena. Its quite an intimate peace and means: "If you are with me, i face even death with joy, when your lovely Hands will close my eyes." Its a last witness and a living proof of love and faithfulness. I don't find this emotion in your singing and the playing of the pianist. A pity in view to your voices ;) Greeting from Germany.

  • @pagelbel Bach did not write this for Anna Magdalena, but it was copied into her Notebook. We know now that the piece was written by Gottfried Heinrich Stolzel. Listen to Elly Ameling, Janet Baker, Lorraine Hunt Lieberson, et al. THAT's how it's done... not like THIS.

  • I have a book right in front of me that says the words are "You are with me, my joy forever. Until my death and unto my rest, until my death and unto my rest. You are with me, my joy forever. Until my death and unto my rest, untill deal and unto rest. Oh how content all of my earthly days, And at the end will your prefect loving hand reach to gently close my eyes. (continued)

  • (continued) - "... Oh how content all of my days. And at the end will your perfect loving hand reach to gently close my eyes. You are with me, my joy forever. Until my death and unto my rest, until death and unto rest. ----- Sounds like you are supposed to be happy? ----TO ZINGALA (OR anyone else out there). Are they supposed to have a sad emotion when singing this song.

  • Beautiful!

    Congratulations and thanks for sharing

  • The voices are great... the arrangement is the worst i`ve ever heard... if Mr. Robinson had read a translation of the lyrics it might not have been so awful happy an so fu***** fast... Bach would have had a heard attack...

  • its very origanal and fast

  • Good voices and nice duet part. Please try to study the meaning of the lyric first before singing, the cheerful tone and the tempo didn't fit the meaning. I do not think you understand what you are singing, that's a pity.

  • @xingala The song doesn't really have much of a saddened tone; it's just saying "you'll be with me until my death."

  • @xingala Indeed. It's far too fast. Should be slow and legato, very heartfelt. Listen to Elly Ameling's recording on YouTube.

  • perfect.....that was excelent......but u should slow down it would soun more beutiful

  • really lovely performance girls =)

  • Great some of the words in German are a little off.. i speak German so... LMAO but reeeeeeele good!!!

  • Lovely! I much prefer the faster tempo of this duet to the more typical arrangement.

  • the tempo is very fast! wow it sounds different that way.

  • Very Very beatiful voices! 110% beatiful!!!! Wonderful job on the duet!

  • Pretty, but there are some dotted rhythms that are missing here, and there needs to be a little bit more of a legato movement between your notes. apart from that, its great :)

  • which one are u??? right or left? i lov this song`s melody we r singing it in chorus

  • For those who have inquired regarding arrangement information for this duet version, here you are. Thank you everyone for your comments.

Bist Du Bei Mir 2 part by J.S. Bach, arranged Russell Robinson, published by Shawnee Press, Inc.

  • You too have a lovely voice I sent this to a friend of mine and now we are thing of singing this in the talent show!:-)

  • Wow i look at this alot You guys have lovely voices! when I get older i hope my voice progresses to be like that-)

  • Hi I'm trying to find the sheet music for this song! Do you have any suggestions on where to find it? Preferably for free! Haha

  • absolutely lovely! It may be the camera angle, make sure your shoulders are well back, it's Ok to look proud, just don't be. It will help let you take command of your music and the audience. You must continue with your music, well done! e-star

  • Sounds like Hollywood version :-) But the girls do have a magnet :-)

  • It is played faster than usual, and sung extremely well by two beautiful voices - it makes for an entirely different song, very good.

  • I had never heard it as a duet and I love it like this :) you two did a wonderful job

  • So pretty as a duet. Your voices blend beautifully.

  • I just got the sheet music for this song in my choir. Freshman year.

But this is a beautiful song. You girls are excellent!

  • what school do u go to??

  • In show choir were singing thisss.

its in 2 part soprano and alto female.

    im a soprano ^-^

    such a pretty song

  • Very nice, except the accent...

  • Very enjoyable! Thanks for sharing.

  • 'vergnoegt' has to be 'vergnügt' !!!

nice version otherwise, two voices. never heard it before! x

  • Per aspera ad astra

  • Well, I like this!

The tempo reflects "Freude" no doubt, and an eagerness to get to Heaven.

I wonder why the arranger ironed out the dotted rhythms...?

The voices are in tune and blend very well together. Well done.

  • well done!

I'm from sweden, but I speak german, too and I think THIS proununciation is for amarican singers very good.

    great job!

  • sie sollten vielleicht ein bisschen mehr auf die aussprache achten

  • i love it! one of the better ones ive seen...i love the tempo that your singing at and i think youve got it perfected!!

  • nein

  • certains peuvent trouver a critiquer tempo ou autre mais quelle fraicheur, quel plaisir .... merci à ces deux merveilles.....

  • grausames tempo!

  • this song sounds soo much better if you sing it at like half the tempo that you are singing it now.

  • too fast and a weird rhythm, but still beautiful

  • Lovely!

  • In der Tat, erheblich zu schnell. Erinnert mich im Tempo etwas an die zu schnell dirigierten Karajan-Interpretationen einiger Beethoven-Werke, die dadurch ähnlich an Wirkung einbüßen...

  • too fast...

  • Warum nur so hastig? - Ein wenig mehr Sensibilität bitteschön!

  • beautiful.

  • Lovely!
