I had my piston explode on my 06 KX250... Would it have been because I didnt warm the engine correctly? the mechanic also said the piston looked like it needed to be changed 20 hours of run time ago (bought it used, so i either fucked up or the guy cheated me.)

@hcokey99 it happens dude. If you read your manual.. it says for a bike thats raced the piston should be replaced EVERY YEAR. For the trail rider and just someone who messed around on the bike in the back yard it should be replaced every 3 or 4 years. A piston blowing doesn't mean the guy cheated you always its just part of normal wear and tear and happens over time

@MrYamaman123 Find a cheap 125, its a much better size for you. I say cheap, because when you outgrow it, you can probably resell it for close to what you paid. Then step up to a 250.
