@Mabozarichy123 Also, Curley and the other guys were catching up to them anyway. There's no way that they could have outrun them. Even if they did, the law would catch up to them anyway, and they wouldn't be able to get jobs as fugitives, and Lennie would either be jailed or sent to a mental asylum (which was just as bad as jail back then) and George would be jailed for being an accomplice.
This is true friendship. There always together, Even tho Lennie died ://

poor lennie? what about George? He lost his best friend, because society couldn't accept him. Now he's lonely...:(

@xomgxitsxmex Because "society couldn't accept him"? He killed Lennie out of mercy. He had 3 (4?) choices.
1) Let Lennie go alone - He wouldn't stand a chance
2) Go with Lennie and risk another person dying from Lennie's childlike behaviour
3) Let Curley lynch / Shoot him
4) Shoot Lennie.
You tell me which you'd pick.

I cried in school when I watched this...
Everybody should watch this film or read the book. Both are amazing.
Thank you John Steinbeck.
