It's nice that people like animals this much and all, but animals get killed and are eaten. Some people enjoy just killing for sport and leaving the animal to rot, but I hate that. I love animals, too, but what do you think that indians used to do with the animals they killed? They used every part. Bones, meat, and fur. If people are only killing animals for the fur, that's wrong, but if they're giving the meat to people who need it, that's a different story.

Its down to opinion. Personally I think a majority of humans are selfish for thinking that somethings right to life can be taken for a burger or a handbag.

The reason that an animal kills another is for survival not because they fancy burger for dinner. If humans can survive without clearly its not a life or death necessity.

To think humans consider themselves the most intelligent life form on earth.

We shouldn't really be against the people that work in the farms. (Even tho I am sure they could keep their jobs without having to skin animals alive) We should be against the big bosses who own these farms in the first place. As I recall we were talking about China. That the fact they should treat animals properly would not cause them to lose jobs. I said, in New Zealand we have high animal welfare standards and don't lose our jobs for it. Infact China would gain the respect of many countries if they too had animal welfare laws so it would be more likely that they would GAIN more jobs :-)

I want to know how it is part of their "culture" to skin dogs alive? especially as they import the dogs from America to farm. German Shepards and Saint Bernards are commonly used. Euthanizing is different, although I'm not a supporter, at least it's a painless death and they only use it when needed like when an animal is in pain or when the shelter can't hold any more animals. No actually PETA has taken healthy adoptable animals from shelters, telling the shelters they would find homes for them, and just euthanized them right away. Anyone for animal rights should turn away from the animal killing new-welfarists at PETA. They give the real AR movement a very bad name.

My dad is a computer engineer but the company he works at, Wyeth, does lots of animal testing. (My dad only works with computers)

So one day when he was at work a whole freaking bunch of people flood into the streets and surround the building my dad was at. And damn, they were throwing rocks and spilling animal blood all over the place, and they were wearing ski masks, lmfao! I am for animal rights, but they were so funny i had to laugh. My dad's boss always gets freaked out when they protest...

Most people who go looking for a fur aren't going to mistake a fake for a real one. Once you touch a fake fur, it's pretty obvious. I have yet to see a fake that feels like the real thing. I think there's very little danger of fake fur wearing making people want to buy the real thing. Also, fake is massively cheaper than the real thing.
