You are not supposed to push till you are fully dialted. You will strain and ware yourself out. It would just make the whole situation harder on you and the baby.

I would disagree. I had pitosin with 2 deliveries and 1 without. All 3 deliveries were very similar with and without pitosin. I could tell you how strong the contractions were because I felt each one completely with the last 2 deliviries - no epidural.
