  • AND THAT, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IS "MELBA MOORE!"

  • I miss no-bullshit singers like her. just natural, beautiful sound. No electronics, no auto-tune!

  • Im blown away!!!!!!!! Her voice is amazing!!! Why wasnt her career longer?

  • @the1212redeagle YEAH I KNOW! The last thing I saw her on, was the fighting temptations the movie with beyonce

  • melba: brilliant, the band: not so much

  • Love Melba!! I used to watch her show .. that was when real talent was alive and well. That voice is pure God given talent!

  • Gorgeous. Fabulous. Talent, talent, TALENT!

  • God bless you for posting this. LOVE MELBA.

  • Amazing! The rest of us would've busted our vocal cords trying to sing like her.

  • SHE OWNS THIS!!!!

  • Um, nice turban. Looks like she just stepped out of the shower. :-p

  • so i guess she got popular from broadway? she is terrific

  • I was big Melba fan back in the day. Too bad she had such a short career.

  • Absolutely Gorgeous

  • WOW, she is sick!!!

its weird though, until 2:13, her face is very... stoic. its a little bit odd. AMAZING AMAZING voice though!

  • BEAUTIFUL.

  • Most women today just can't blow like this anymore. Wow, what an amazing performance!

  • OMG! i would've hated to sing this song every night! what a rangey piece.

  • @uncoverbrother Melba just had it like that.

  • Fenomenale!!!!!!!

  • this is in a different key than the recording! she is still amazing.

  • now i see where Eryka Badu got her style from

  • Das wat i was bout to say lol

  • word up.

  • Sang & can still hold this note live in 2009!

  • Melba have the best voice of the world !!!

Long time ago she was te winner of best voice/singer of the world !!! (octaaf) !!!

  • She had great natural talent but pushed her voice horribly. By the time I saw her at the "Club Harlem" in Atlantic City in 1974 there was a terrible wobble-,what a pity.

  • she smoked/s i do believe

  • MADNESS! i've known Melba Moore for nearly 25 years and didn't know she could rip it up like this.

  • look at the clips from Pulie from the 70's

  • What sqairbiz said. I saw her in Purlie in 1970 on Broadway. I was a young kid, but the perfomance stuck with me. This was the showstopper number. Four encores in the middle of the show, never seen anything like it since.

  • So Pretty.

  • Melba is a rare ''gem''. I love her vocalbility.

  • There's nothing like live performances. NO music track,no lipsync, nothing fake. Melba sang her butt off on this performance. I love old school ''live'' performances. Everything was (real) back then.

  • Amen to that... "Live" is ALIVE!

  • @DEEDUBB1979 Everything was NOT live back then. That's a myth. Ever watch Soul Train?

  • @TruthSerum101.....Soul Train did have live performances for the first 2 seasons but after that the artists were lipsynching. Comparing to the performances of today, the 70's had mainly live performances. For exampleThe Midnight Special.

  • @DEEDUBB1979 So true. Nowadays, you have to go to opera for the real thing, and that's a shame. (I love opera, by the way; this is not a dig against the world's greatest singers.)

Where are the Roy Orbisons? How could anyone think Ke$ha is a real singer?

  • Wow..great defination video from 70? holy cow..much vids from that year arn't very good and this one, besides its H.D. is a great song - thanks for posting :) Jenni, 15 from Chicago "area"
