I've got a problem with the text. I managed to get the person to face me and talk to me, but the text is all glitched out, the person starts saying something like: "Pol PoPo PoK < Pol PoK Pol PoPo Pol < (and so on)" It just glitches the text!

What is that? I followed the instructions! What did I do wrong?

@MrKylePomperada about a year ago i was wondering if it would be possible to have your character standing in something (like in between four switches) and being able to use these switches to control another person. like you click a or bump into one of them and this, in turn would make the person you are controlling move around according to the way you were standing. do you think that would be possible?

Uh, I have a weird problem. Whenever I try to talk to my made up guy, it either makes the action beep, and nothing else happens, or it opens up a store dialogue box, with Buy and Exit being the only options. It then automatically selects buy, and then the game resets. Any help would be appreciated.

Pokéscript is an old buggy lil' trash... Try learning XSE instead.

Isn't that the same thing as Advanced Text? I've tried to find a clean one and that failed multiple times. And then I learned it needed Command Prompt. So I gave up on it. Scripting is my only other choice and I don't know how to use a Hex Editor, so Pokescript is the only thing I can use. Plus, there aren't even any Hex Editor Text tutorials out there.

I know what A-Text is. I tired to use it but I mentioned my problems getting it.

I looked at it and it seemed harder than PokeScript but I could look again.... Do you need a program to run it? And what makes it superior to PokeScript?

When you go to Advanced Map, after you are done putting in the script You MUST press 'SAVE AS' and save it. It works fine just the way follump does it. Thanks btw :)

Can someone help me? I do everything foullump does, I installed both programs into C:\Pokewitch, and after I make the script in notepad, I right click it, and the "Compile Script" option comes up. I click it, and the (LOG) Instant comes up for a second or two, displays words really fast (faster than in the video), then (LOG) Instant goes completely blank, and the Buf Rite doesn't come up. What happened?

@MusicFreak0362 The problem seems to be the rom itself, these programs for whatever reason don't seem to read certain versions of it. I downloaded a different version of the same rom from a different website and it started working. Try doing the same.

To anyone who reads this: One thing he didnt explain, you must check the box on the search that says assign! Then, click reserve! If you dont, your script is not saved!!! I just found this out, and that was why I could make scripts!!

There are a few things you forgot to mention that I figured out on my own, that I think are messing a lot of people up.

First of all - you have to leave the two 00's at the beginning of the 'Script offset' in AM - so for most people it should be something like '00800000' NOT '80000080' which is what happens if you try to replace ALL the 0's with the offset you're given.

Second - you HAVE to set the talking level to 'Height 2 (normal)' or else you will just get the sound and no text.

I dont mess up the game and im not really experienced but the thing i only wanted to do is know the item ID from some items i need that npc's give in the game, with the script i can see wich ID the item haves and i can set it in my own scripts. Maybe if you or some1 else have an Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald item ID list that would be more helpfull, because i dont have any tabs in my advanced mab that you are saying.

For you guys who don't see a "Compile Script" option, make sure you installed both PokeScript AND PkmnAdv. I didn't see Compile Script, until I realized I forgot to install PkmnAdv after PokeScript. It's often the simplest mistakes that get us!

I'm not sure what I did wrong but I couldn't figure out how to put a new guy in (haven't used AM before) so I selected the Fat Guy. I changed the script offset (it wasn't the same as yours) and then saved. When I played the game and I talked to him it said 'What would you like to buy?' And it had the buy, sell, see ya! things there, exactly as if I was talking to the guy in a Pokemart! then I clicked buy and it showed '??????????' 0(Pokedollars sign)

Very nice tutorials, quite handy. I can understand that the video became a little rushy when i read about the original time, aswell at it took some time and alot of thinking to figure out, but i finally managed to do it right tho. Everything kinda works, but i have a problem with the offset, whenever i paste it inside Advance Map it changes. I walk past the trainer, he gets surprised, walks to me etc. Then a purple screen comes. Could you please help? Subscribing anyways, nice videos :)

@juannrocks I would advise you to re-install PoketScript, then delete the remaining folders in the Pokewitch folder. Remember to install PoketScript first, then you can install PkmAdv. Worked for me, i had the same problem at the start.
