Now it looks like Sara Jean Ford is leaving the Broadway company. I wonder who will be here replacement? They should bring back one of the Christine's from the tour.
Hey guys, I just recently saw John Cudia this Thanksgiving break!!! He was amazing, too bad I didn't meet him but I met Jennifer Hope Wills yesterday! She's EXTREMELY nice AND I have her Autograph. :)
@BearcatWizard I had the pleasure of seeing him do both Raoul and Phantom. My first show was Jul 1992 when he was opposite Mark Jacoby's phantom and Karen Culliver's Christine. Mentioned it to him too when we met him at Stage door this past Feb 25th.
@choochrissy Saw her perform this past friday night Feb 25 with Hugh Panaro and Sean MacLaughlin. Seen Phantom 3 times and she was by far the best Christine I've seen. Lovely voice. All three actors also were kind enough to autograph out playbills despite the bitter winter wind. We had a great time. :)
@phantomlover09 Though it seems that actors who have set their mark on the show never really leave. John Cudia took and break after the Tour and then went to Broadway. Jennifer Hope Wills left for her pregnancy leave, but returned. Marni Raab started on the US tour and went to the World Tour, then back to the US tour and then to Broadway. Don't forget, Hugh Panaro is back for his third time to the production. I imagine Cudia and Wills should return someday.
Either way, they are coming to LA next week and I definitely will go see them ^_^ I'm so excited, as much as I have always adored POTO, this will be my first live experience ^_^
I'm iffy about Sara. While she's a good singer, I don't know if she fits Christine vocally as well as an actress should. I'm not bashing her at all, she's a TERRIFIC actress, but I'm just saying that she's not very 'opera', but more 'musical theatre'.
actually, sarah and i are from the same town, and i years ago, i saw her in a production of Candide, as Catagunga, and she was awesome and that's an operetta, so...
You mean Cunegonde? And operetta doesn't mean anything. An operetta is just a 'light opera,' and is extremely close to musical theatre (its how musical theatre evolved out of opera). I agree with you that Sara's awesome, because she is a GREAT actress. But, her voice is more meant for musical theatre. Look at her credits, there isn't a single opera amongst them. Now, I'm not saying you need opera credits to play Christine, I just think that Sara's voice is meant for a more musical theatre show.
I saw Sara Jean Ford and Jason Mills in San Antonio. It was amazing! How did you manage to get this recording, I thought they checked for cameras and stuff? I know a lot of people get recordings, but I was wondering if that stuff is banned or if I was wrong.
I don't think they would, because there's no comparison to seeing the show live. It would just be nice for those of us who can't go very often, and when a show goes off Broadway.
When we went to see Putnam County Spelling Bee at Playhouse in Cleveland they let 1 of the guys i was with carry in his professional photocamera.. they just told him not 2 use it lol
dude i saw it in louisville too!! the matinee on the 19th :) i saw sarah lawrence, though (she was fierce). jason was a sexy amazing BEAST. he was soo passionate, i cried in basically every scene he was in. hehe and i got his autograph afterwards... my family had to like pry me away from him... jk :)
This is the cast I get to go see! I'm so happy. PotO was the first musical I ever actually watched, but I've never seen it live. It's the movie that I've seen 40 times...lol. I've listened to several different casts, and I'm so happy! Share my glee!
Ah, if only there was a clear recording on youtube! Yours is the best I can find, by far. I just saw these two do PhO together two nights ago in my city, Saskatoon. Jason is by far the best phantom I've ever heard. Though, my opinion could be skewed, only having heard about three other phantoms. P:
But otherwise, this is wonderful. So reminiscent of the amazing performance.
My Vocal Technique Professor used to be her Choir teacher in High School (Newbury Park). He just saw the show in Costa Mesa. I'm jealous! I wish I gotten to see this live.
Phantom is coming to Sacramento. I'm going three times. Man I'm sooooo excited. Jason is a very handsome dude. I'm getting goosebumps listening to them
Three times?! OMG! So lucky! I would love to go see it in San Diego, only I'm leaving for Germany, so I need to keep any money I get over the next three months in my savings account! :(
I just saw them last Saturday. They were amazing. Sara Jean Ford's voice is clear, and beautiful. Jason Mills sings beautifully, and delivers a powerful performance that pulls at your heartstrings.
I saw the show twice in Costa Mesa, once on the 11th (Friday) and then on the 13th (Sunday matinee). Jason Mills played the Phantom on Friday and Greg Mills played him in the Sunday performance. I thought that Greg was a much stronger Phantom with a significantly more powerful voice. Plus he seemed to have the Phantom's physical nuances down a little better (I thought). Just my opinion. What do you think?
OMG I saw Phantom Tuesday, with Jason Mills, Greg Mills, and Sara Jean Ford. It was tremendous! Christine is fantastic, and Jason Mills is wonderful as the Phantom. Greg Mills is the best Raoul ever!
Nah, probely u sitting far from stage. See my bootleg by seeing 2 videos of Anthony Crivello and Kristi Holden (prologue, overture, and phantom of the opera by clicking on my account.

Was Sarah Jean Ford the only Christine to play Glinda?
BearcatWizard 1 year ago
@BearcatWizard Annalene Beechey in London did as well. And Kristin played Christine in a production of Yeston and Kopits "Phantom".
RaWrZzZz 1 year ago
@RaWrZzZz Have you heard of Libby Servais? She was Christine from the US Tour Production of Phantom. And later Glinda. She told me on Twitter.

Haha. I think they should sell professional tapes of Broadway shows. It wouldn't hurt them any, and fans of the shows would appreciate it.

Well the might lose ticket sales by doing that.
