  • @echoohce

nigga you lost yo mind!!??theres other ways to decribe this song instead of that crazy shit...........like being in a room full of twisted, ripped bloodied bodies hanging from the ceiling hahahahahahaha

  • It sounds like the best parts of surf rock meets the best parts of post-rock. Thats why I love the genre so much... there is so much room to play.

  • @InstinctEBM - I saw Jakob supporting Isis in Munich about 3 Years ago. Fantastic Piece of Music from both bands. Went home, ordered Jakobs CD from NZ. Great Album!

  • @Saerdajin Makes for a great atmosphere, at a concert. Both the bands. Jakob calms it all then Isis plays it all heavy. Love it.

Off to see Red Sparowes next week, with Boris.

  • Even better than Flight of the Conchords :p

  • I could just drown in this kind of music... Makes me feel... Ethereal.

  • New Zealand's best

  • This photo says it all...The greatest album of our time in my humble opinion. If you haven't listened to all of "Solace" up loud with no distractions, you are missing a very special album that is still being discovered....

  • You gained +1 point of Awareness.

  • awsome photo!

  • I saw these guys lastnight into this morning...it felt like i had known them for ages!

  • DaNorthernLight - You worded it perfectly...

  • i like it when the song starts to get "angry" and make nothing but noises, but... between the noises you hear this melody... awesome!

  • That is the beauty of Jakob...the instruments are the words. No need for vocals when your instruments are as well played as this....

  • i agree. that's the reason i write this kind of music(well not so guitar in them but this atmosphaire) and i don't put vocals... they are unnecessary... this kind is meant to be instrumental..

  • sounds like a metal version of blade runner, pretty cool.

  • Stunned O.o

  • This guy has the same name as me :D

  • I want this song to be played at my funeral!!

  • A masterpiece of monster proportions.

  • Mesmerizing...I keep coming back to this. If you stare at it in full screen you will be too..

  • brings me to a different place.

  • that`s when musicians know how to use their instruments

  • An epic masterpiece....

  • favourited it after the 40th second!

  • YEAHH GOOD MUSIC

  • Smoke a cigar while listening to this song and amazing...just amazing.

  • fuck cigars smoke a joint

  • O_____O

I'm blown away, my new favorite post-rock band.

  • Jakob and old Mogwai are the best postrock. Some GYBE! is good, but these guys are sumply amazing. IMO God is an Astronaut gets old after awhile.

  • They're coming to perform at my school ;3 I'm amped as to see them, I love their music.

  • Incredibly dark song

  • verygood mix Rock-Melody

    Very Original. Good sense guys

  • This type of music should be exposed to absolutely everyone in an effort to show them what music really is; the amazing atmosphere and feeling you get from listening to bands like this.

  • @WyattThePhyst

No way should it be exposed to everyone, what happens when one man finds a lake, nothing, it stays clean and pure, but share it with everyone and it becomes polluted, it's the same with music, In my opinion, I believe this music should stay exclusive to those who are willing to search through the woods and find this beutiful crystal clean lake.

  • @Agallulver that's selfish, if you truly like a band and want the best for em you should let them be exposed, or aid that process by telling people about them, not hoarding it

  • @sunnybeach3 ... both of your opinions are true... but shouldnt a band do what they wish to do??........ learn to just listen to them wether they are popular or not.. shouldnt change the fact that you love them.

  • @Agallulver you are totally right I cant say any better

  • @WyattThePhyst This type of music is not for everyone, so I've got to disagree. Not everyone would "get" this type of music, and that's the way it should be.

  • This is some of what moves me emotionally God is an astronaut,Mogwai,Sigur ros,Durutti column[sketch for summer], Oceansize,Nick Nicely [hilly fields]. Maybe it will do the same for you.

  • the best part in this tube is when the title appears then becoming biger and suddenly this awesome picture attacks. 2 weeks ago i`ve bought Solace vinyl edition from conspiracyrecords. recommend to everyone. this group has totally chaged my point of view on music. rest of the post rock band aren`t even close to them...

  • Well, Jakob is indeed a fine post-rock band, other post-rock bands get boring after a while, I think God is an astronaut also is a very good band,

    Greets from Holland

  • Just discovered Jakob from a mention on the God is an astronaut postings. Cannot choose between either Jakob or God is an astronaut and hey i dont have to this world needs as many bands like this as possible, absolutely emotionally moving..

The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens.

  • yeah so did i, lol.

  • @weirdsvillelife

    are you a bahai?

  • I think i'll have to steal this. Yarr!

  • You're not alone... the entire album "Solace" completely blows my mind.

  • Why do I get chills from listening to this song?

  • Em... It's because you like it...

  • Does anyone else find that this instrumental would almost fit with Gary Jules' "Mad World"? Seriously, the rhythm chords fit!

  • Ah, listening to this song takes me back to when I was first shown Jakob. It was the first time I really let myself become overwhelmed by all of the reverberating sounds and melodies. Simply wonderful. Thanks again Shades.

  • Exactly man. I come back to this video and it's almost a hypnotic state if you listen loud with no distractions...

  • Agreed.

  • Shoulda known you'd be here!

  • Of course.

  • I think we followed the same bands on the related videos too!

  • So many soundscapes and amazing layers in this song. Every time I listen I get goosebumps from the emotions I feel...

  • 1:55 - 3:16

My favorite part of the song.

But the whole song is really amazing. But that one part amuses me the most.

  • you're so damn right...that part is awesome! !!

  • What a truly epic piece.

  • The music is outstanding, and that image is perfect, it's like what the music pictures through those trees.

  • It amazing music! And their video for the song Nice day for an earthquake won the people choice awards for teh best video of the DECADE! What hero's!!!!!xx

  • Wow. This is amazing. I can actually SEE the music.

  • Thats exactly how I feel. my music teacher is friends with them so we watched some of there music video's today in music and they are amzing. I never thought that having no singer would work but it fully does.

  • yeah i get what you mean. i personally prefer music with no vocals. the music should talk for itself.

  • finally someone who understands. someone who obviously doesnt need to be told what i song means, you decide that yourself

  • this song is EFFING amazing!

  • Is this Jade Trim by any chance???

  • great band. They had a good influence on Vheissu and the Alchemy Index by Thrice. Also check out God is an Astronaut and Pelican.

  • excellent

  • If you guys are into instrumental rock, give us a listen. Leap Year Astronaut.

  • Never heard of you before, but I just listened to "Brightness". Great stuff.

I'll have to add you guys to my next instrumental video.

  • Post rock is one of my favorite genres and this song provides more than enough reason why.

  • Arresting image...it's as if the atmosphere has suddenly developed varicose veins. Outstanding, and chilling image for a song as disquieting as Orin Mor. 5*****'s, all the way.

  • I never thought of those as veins. It could be the backside of a eyeball as well.

  • LOL...no doubt!

  • they are really very impressive. Right now they are my second favourite band right after Sigur Ros and that's a lot to say cos Sigur Ros are monsters! Post rock will save the world!

  • jakob are what my dreams sound like.
