whoever thinks just grounding the brake lead is likely just touching wires together while the deck is hanging out of the enclosure. once the unit powers off and restarts, you will have to disconnect and reconnect the lead to get video again.
to get around this use an spdt relay from canadian tire, using the amp remote lead to activate the relay. the relay does the disconnect and reconnect for you, so you dont have to have a stupid looking switch hanging out of your interior panels.
YOOOOOOOO your dash looks amazing. I really like your cover for the radio that's a genious idea. Is that custom ? How much did you pay to get it ? (Not the radio the cover ...)
This is rubbish there is no need for a switch. All you need to do is earth the green cable. It wont reset every time because it will always think the hand break is on.
I have this head unit with the relay setup, works great. I actually have two relays hooked up, got it done at an audio shop for like 5 dollars....which is rediculously cheap after 500 for the unit, lol.
i dont even see a warning screen i directly grounded the brake green cable but when i put a dvd it just start playin just audio non video at all what can i do
you need to take that green wire, and get a two connector toggle switch, put the green wire on one side, and a spare grounded wire on the other side. When you see the grey warning across, click the toggle switch on and off, then you'll get a blue screen, and hit ok on the bottom right. and enjoy
@gaticoval what did you do ,mine does the same thing , but the warning screen comes on i ground it and it goes away but i get only sound i cant see the image
Just ground the parking brake wire on the head unit somewhere where there is metal, eg: under the dash, and you have a permanent installation! Just make sure you sand any paint that might be on the metal to ensure good electrical contact.
Yep. It has to be re-grounded every time. That was the first thing I tried in my 4100DVD. I was thinking about doing the relay but I'd like to have the switch for convenience. Just in case I ever got stopped by the police I could show them that the blue screen still comes up.
That's why the switch is more convenient than a relay because you can easily remove the switch. But um, since when do cops look inside the car after an accident? They didn't look in mine...
But you could say it's installed for passengers lol. I'd just remove it whenever I needed to though.
how did u run the bypass i have the avh 4000 and it says u have to push ur e brak twice pls tell me how u have this hooked up do u just have it hooked to the power on the hu with a switch between?
I got the same unit yesterday, the installer keeps telling me that the toggle switch does not work and wont try it for me. how did you connect the toggle switch so I an tell him? He said pioneers are very picky with toggles.
The only thing you need is a normally opened momemtary push button switch. Throw in a dvd, Hit switch once and hit radio once and done. You can buy a smaller one for better mounting and a cleaner look.
Its not hard to install the double din, its already made for double din systems. For the bypass switch you can buy it at wal-mart. Make sure u buy the toggle switch with only two connectors on the bottom

wt does bypass mean?
gamez101 2 years ago
@gamez101
A bypass is usually made to disable safety features such as disabling the screen that stops videos from being played while driving.

That doesn't work on 4000dvd. That setup you're talking about works on D3's.

nice install. did you do it yourself? you should get your toggle switch and mount it under the edge of the dash,

Think about this, if you get in an accident and the police find you have a bypass installed...guess what they will think.
