i just noticed a similarity between this and the beach boys 'you still believe in me' both fantastic songs :) Hell's Ditch one of their best albums! even though they were falling apart when they made it, it's a really uplifting, happy record!
I find the image of a drunk Shane MacGowan running through the streets, in genuine fear, because he just found out a girl was really a bloke, absolutely hilarious.
It's on "The Crock Of Gold" by Shane MacGowan & The Popes - it is NOT, as stated below on "Peace & Love". It was not a Pogues song, though it is a great song. The melody was nicked from the dub band Culture, as evidenced on the Pogues boxset and the song "Pinned Down / I'm Alone In The Wilderness". Plenty for you to go on with there!
pogues are quality. this song about Pattaya is so true, would make Pattaya my home tomorrow if I could- no one gives a monkeys and Singha beer dont ask no questions!! definatly tell no lies. And yes i am just a wally hanging on the beach!! wicked
Up the premier Ha. Only jokin, Pogues for everyone Up the Pogues FTW, Im just a Wally hangin out on clonea beach..

@TryingIsGood That's great! Just as the first few notes were played, I said "Hey...Beach Boys...Pet Sounds." Good call!

@SIFLandOLLYshow I would think it more plausibel if the"ladyboy" ran away after seeing Shanes toothy smile.

I grew up listening to this album, I was a little kid and my dad played it all the time, therefore it is my favorite of all there albums

Fine tune, I definetly love Pogues. They along with other bands like Flogging Molly really manage to give me an Irish feeling. :D

Excellent! Now one of my new top 3 Pogues songs. :) Like Springsteen, I've never even heard this before.
