  • BAD COVER YOU SHOULD DO IT AGAIN IN DROP

  • y te song???

  • @tatertott77 seriously. Rammstein- Waidmanns Hail... drop c. System of a Down- Sad Statue... drop d......... and im sure there are many more SOAD songs that are in the same tuning

  • @tatertott77 It is. Standard tuning is becoming completely outdated. Look up almost any new song and count how many of them are in drop C, drop D, and standard. youll need 2 sheets of notebook paper and for standard... a post it note will probably be more than enough

  • Wrong notes!!!!!!

  • my guitar is never tuned to standard. always in drop c or d. everythings easier to play and it sounds so much better. imagine a powerchord in standard... its something like tabs 3 and 5 right? (if not, see how much i dont care. and for those who know what im talking about, this is for you.) now imagine still using 5 for the 2nd (A) string, and also using 5 for the new D string. 1 finger does it all and comes in handy for whoever wants to send me comments like "fuck you" or whatever

  • Whats the name of the guitar?

  • @TheDragonrider26 it's a J. Reynolds I don't know the name of the model. I got it for free and it doesn't sound very good.

  • oh hell no drop c all power cords tuning-cgcfad

  • This is good man, i dint either use the right settings, i kept my standard to, i watched some tabs to get an idea how it should be, then i did my own thing, and it sounds pretty good (Y) Real guitar players are just using tabs for learning (Y)

  • cool

  • I like the way you re did it it's rele cool but search for the YouTube video of Ben kasica showing you how he actually plays it it's rele easy to learn lol. But again good job lol

  • its not standard the tuning is a drop C

  • SIIIIICK

  • its cool how mostly everybody starts with fenders. thats like me i did too. im fixin to get an epiphone i think a les paul

  • Comment removed

  • they dont even look lik the right cords but it actualy sounds decent?

  • @seether4175 he's playing everything an octave up in standard tuning. I'm working on writing an acoustic arrangement for this song that will use a similar method of playing it =P

  • @3dG4eVa I don't think an amp is capable of that human function... and I think Ben belongs with them. I don't think I'm good. but thanks, I'm flattered

  • relly u dont even have a fuckin amplifier! *sarcastic* damn ur so awesome u shud be the new guitarist they shud just kick ben outta the band so u can play

  • @3dG4eVa1 you must be deaf or something... you can easily hear his amp...

  • and awesome guitar

  • nice

  • not bad.....but not correct....trufully i could have done better

  • @sunfur21 *Sarcastic* thanks

  • @Panhead912 dude i got same guitar :D but i play monster on other way :p nice job tough

  • ][-][ ][ ][\/][ is also awesome!

  • *Sarcastic* so amazing. You got it exactly right. why not try SINGING it?

  • @sunfur21 hahaha i laugh when i saw this

  • It was pretty decent but you gotta work on the palm muting. Try playing it in drop C using a bar at 5th fret, bar at 8th fret, then bar at 5th fret again.

  • red and skillet fan

    u Rock :D !! \m/

  • good job i can tell that u didnt use tabs because i dont play it like that way and i got straight from the book but really good job!!

  • I pride myself on being a Panhead, but wow... You know you're a dedicated fan when your guitar actually has the word "Skillet" on it!

  • The real song is played with the 6th string in dropped D.

  • @XGodOfModzX Nope it's actually in drop C

  • @XGodOfModzX Nope it's actually in drop C

  • @XGodOfModzX Nope it's actually in drop C

  • playing it wrong btw. might sound "Similar" look up the tabs. or bettey yet, buy their tab book of their website. then people like me cant say your doin it wrong. and yes its in drop c.

  • why didnt u do it in drop C like it's supposed to be in? cuz it sounds kinda weird an octave higher... and its easier in drop C in my opinion.. but it actually sounds kinda good at the same time so yeah

  • where you get tha stickers, but awsome cover, but the easier wauy is with the 5 3 7 chords or somethin like that lol

  • damn son.... thats whats up!!

  • pretty cool dude

  • is this a stratocaster?

  • I have looked ALL OVER online for a Skillet sticker for my car and I cant find one. Where did you get it? And the RED sticker?

    Does anyone know?

  • @OrganicDad okay, for one, he drew all of the "stickers" by hand with sharpie, and 2, there arent any SKILLET stickers out yet

  • Bob Marley Jimi Hendrix Micheal Jackson John Lennon Curt Kobain Malcom X Luther King Tupac Princess Diana and many more all killed by the illuminati in order for their great masterplan to control the masses and sway us away from Love Peace and push us towards Hate and Violence. Please watch "The arrivals" to understand these things and free your mind..
  • @TheUsmanelahi u must be the most retarded man alive because Martin Luther King did not push ANYONE towards HATE and VIOLENCE. He gave his life to blacks so that they may have equal rights just like everyone else. Everything he did was in peace. Until a hateful man assassinated him. LEARN THE FACTS BEFORE YOU SAY DUMB CRAP LIKE THAT!

  • @TheUsmanelahi think before you say stuff like that this kind of stuff gets your ass kicked

  • Nice! i got the same guitar as you! mine was 150USD and comes with amp.. so my sound quality sucks on the 11th fret.. the amp is a Made In China Laney.. Disortion sucks too.. only crunch. :()

  • @gee842 ya... cheap but good for starts... I used a Fender practice amp that my sister has... I'm more of a bass guy now, I started playing and it just came to me... Definitely a gift from God, and I use it for Him. I play for my church worship team. it's pretty cool. Do you play other than for a hobby?

  • @Panhead912 not really

  • @Panhead912

a gift from God, and I use it for Him

if i'll able to rate this comment with stars I give you 5 :D

    think the same ;)

  • @gee842 im sorry me to when i palm mute it sounds wierd

  • interesting way to play it. That's the first power chord version i've seen. I usually go dropped c on that one.

  • @johnsonscott89 Yeah.. it's still played with power chords in drop C. In dropped tunings, straight open on the bottom three strings is root, perfect fifth, octave, i.e a power chord. And it's tuned to drop C, because the lowest note in the song is the low C.

Still, you seem to have played a harmony part... it works :)

  • xboc, they aren't stickers... I drew them by hand in sharpie

hinatahyuga, I got it from a friend... It's cheap but plays

    That's cool Ryan

  • love the skillet sticker on your guitar were you get it

  • luv it : ) and where did u get ur guitar?? xD

  • i can do better than this

  • @Awfulryan101 Let's see it, then. Don't throw down the gauntlet if you're afraid to duel.

  • not the right tone...

  • Dude wrong tabs and tunning the tune is drop C

  • love it!!! i mean its just nice

  • WOW i see a RED logo!! I LOVE RED!!

  • you can play it in drop C in bar chords if you don't if you don't like power chords

  • I play it in drop D :L so it doesnt matter what tuning its in just aslong as it sound the same

    btw good cover :D

  • @MichaelFindlater i lay in c sharp :S lol

  • hehe everyone whos commented has said like all the types of tuning they play this in :P

  • lol sorry, just thought id say in case it was wrong :S

  • lol :P

  • I've tried it drop c with my washburn and it sounds way to low i think drop d might be a better sounding choice

  • @Drakestorm0

drop C does sound way to low :P

  • yeah im trying it in drop d and its still not sounding right.... any middle ground to try?

  • @Drakestorm0

i dunno i just do it in drop D and its not too bad:P but i need a new guitar anyways :L

  • @MichaelFindlater: No this song is in drop c. Watch ben kasica's video about how to play the song and says it is in drop c. You can't possibly play this song in drop D because the key is to high. Just make sure you have the right tabs.

  • @bobtheblob7

I know but you can play it in any type o tuning, as long as it sounds the same, thats why its a guitar cover :P :P and it doesnt sound right i drop C anyway, or it could just be my guitar :L:P

  • no i talked to john cooper the singer of the band and its atually in drop b just one step down

  • Who cares if it is in drop c. He put the vid on youtube so people could see that he can play it and to get GOOD comments.

  • Wow

  • Good job

  • Its in drop c.... I play the song myself. I thought it was 5 8 5 7 10 3 2 though (the frets)

  • cool guitar good job but its in drop c

  • wow havent seen it done like that b4 i do it in drop c on power chords but u probably put more effort into it... love the red and skillet stickers, the ultimate u should check out demon hunter, tfk, day of fire, decyfer down, our heart's hero, if u havent already... :)

  • dude I like it...even tho it's in Drop C...it still sounds good....thats probably what I would do if I was really lazy

  • nice guitar

  • It's in drop c... Look it up man.

  • its actually in drop c tuning

  • is that a sticker or made in the guitar?

  • dude that guitars sick :D

  • great,I wanna learn how to use an electric guitar too T~T , I love the song,good job,by ear,you're damn good O_O

  • I like the way you did this in an unconventional tuning, which may not have been "true to the original", it was still provocative in its own manner. (Which was pretty cool to see a unique element such as this thrown in to the mix)

  • I use Drop C tuning (C,G,C,F,A,D,) and use a variation of power chords on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 8th, and 10th frets...open chord thrown in on the chorus...but good job, sounds close enough!

  • i love your guitar! where can i get one like that

  • 2/5

  • holy dang. pretty dang awesome.

  • no amp?... dude is that drop c?or drop d? sounds more like drop d...

  • look at description its in standard

  • ya its drop c it just sound wrong in standard and drop d

  • £50 guitars from ASDA ftw!!! got the same one lmao!

  • actually my guitar teacher whos been in a band and playing guitar for 10 years or more says that its drop a tuning. good job on standard though

  • Nice guitar and good job 5*

  • standard tuning doesnt really work for much skillet songs u should try drop b and drop c,cuz no offense this sounds like junk

  • Pretty good for doing it by ear!

  • yo i got the same guitar lmao 5 stars

  • man xD c'mon its drop c xD u play it an octave higher

  • Drop c is a lot better!!! but hey it's not completely bad!

  • nice guitar

  • drop c dude its sounds to weird in standard tuning

  • yea much better in drop c bro

  • its not standard tuning, its drop C tunrf.. nice try tho.

  • dude this is way off... its supposed to be in drop C tuning not standard.... but nice try

  • ooo a red and skillet fan YAY!!! XD

  • hey bro its in dropped C tuning. CGCFAD

  • is that an Eli? it looks a lot like one

  • whats with your guitar? its good an all but theres somethin weird about it, cant figure it out.

  • its a strat i think he wrote on it with marker and put a good looking skillet sticker on it

  • what guitar is that? it doesn't look like a fender

  • nice job, but I hate your guitar it is hideous

  • were you playing the rhythm part? i was looking at the tabs n it says both guitar 1 and 2 are are on 5, 8, n open at first

  • Can you send me the tab for this on basic tuning?

  • if you know how to palm mute or "slap mute" try that too, instead of just legato strumming. you'll get more of a metal/hard rock sound.

  • How cany you play a skillet song with basic tuning i try but i can't play rebirthing with basic tuning!

  • Nice. It says Skillet and Red on your guitar. Those are 2 of the top 5 of my favorite bands!

    AmDrag

  • nice

  • Oh, but still you can here you're not playing the same octave. You're playing in drop c right? For the intro try barring 5-open-8-open-5-open-7-10-5-3. That's the correct octave, and most of the song is based around those chords.

  • where did u get the guitar

  • i think its just a normal black stratocaster with a skillet sticker on it

  • thnks

  • ya thats what it looks like

  • A little off, but in standard tuning im not surprised. Good cover. Just tun!e it down to drop C and play those power chords!

  • Nice cover, but you're in the wrong octave for the most of the song (for the verse, intro, bridge, and parts of the chorus), right chords, wrong octave. Try playing it two steps down, or in dropped c.

  • actually its 2 steps down for the Low E string, and 1 step down for the rest of the strings. (;

  • bravo great job and in standard to very good

  • I love the guitar stickers! TFK, For Today, Skillet, and Red are my favorite bands ever. oh and congrats for having the first guitar cover of this song AND doing a great job playing it.

  • awesome! he even did it with standard tuning! someone send me the tabs please for the standard tuning!

  • ur guitar is sickk

  • i love ur skillet guitar!!

  • those aren't stickers... he drew them with sharpie

  • were u got those cool stickers i want some!!!

  • NICE STICKERS :D

  • nice stickers. :)

    and nice played.

  • all the tabs i look up for this song are different

  • @WipeYourTears

that doesn't necessarily mean they are wrong. Just remember you can play the some note/chord in different parts of the guitar's neck. as well as it can be changed to a different key. like when i play this song i change the key for singing purpose.

  • good job!!! and this is your first cover? thats awesome

  • Best guitar ever!

  • Awesome

Add some showbread sharpie. Then it'd be the perfect guitar lol

You took the strings off to draw the skillet logo right?

Weren't you worried about messing up the pressures with the neck and everything? I'd flip.

  • You're not in the right tuning.

  • your an idiot. the right tunning is actually A440. all you drop tunners are weak

  • maybe you should learn how to use proper grammer so you don't sound so ignorant.

  • Ignorant, is what your comment was in the first place. and yes obviously grammer isn't my strong point music is. Maybe you should stick to giving advice on grammer instead of music

  • Does it make you feel manly attacking some random girl over youtube but no one else who agrees with my first statement?

  • like the pick guard.. .gonna add TFK in there at some point? :P

  • he did but has to play a new song he was telling me about it this guy rocks you should hear him play in person he's a beast!!!!!

  • you were using iTunes

  • nice skillet sticker on ur guitar i like it :)

  • it's not a sticker, I drew it free-hand in sharpie

  • its actually in drop b

  • I know. I hate drop B! it's soooooo annoying. The strings are way too loose when I play it cuz I got thin strings. But I used audacity to change the pitch to drop c so it's not that bad.

  • Use a thicker gauge string set. For Drop B 13-56 should be the lighest. I use a custom gauge set of 14-64 for Drop B

  • I know, but I played in standard

  • ur good and like is ur amp just turned way down? cuz i can barely hear u? oh well awesome skillet on ur guitar!!!

  • ur horrible i can bearly hear u playin

  • Great job, man. But I play with the CGCFAD tuning, it's easier... well, each one with your way ! Congratz !

  • yay red & skillet

    best bands ever

    great job

  • NICE SCOOBA STEVE YOU RULE!!

  • great job bro! I did a bass cover for the song, maybe we should jam haha

  • amazing cover!!! i love this song haha oh yeah and the stickers on you guitar are amazing but weres the tfk sticker?? haha

  • they're not stickers, I drew them with Sharpies, and that's a good idea, I'll put one on it will probably be the Welcome to the Masquerade Mask

  • you drew it??? you did awesome! lol sweet! good idea haha

  • I just made one.. I'll upload a pic check it out

  • sweet!

  • can you send me tabs on how you did it

  • I didn't use tabs I did it by ear

  • did you make any i mean

  • where did you get the custom guitar look

  • Great job, keep covering songs you like because your really good.

  • Nice job. Like how you used standard tuning and just played an octave above. They need to make an acoustic version of monster someday =p

  • Props for your view on tuning. As a leftover shredder from the 80's I have wondered why A 440 tuning has become extinct. I play in several tunings these days and for the most part, the "feel" of the whole thing is different. I like to do solos with drop tunings. Its challenging because it throws off your normal patterns. But I will always have a special place in my heart for good old 440. Nice job.

  • hey skillet and red rockks
