The Neon Srt 4 is the fastet vehicle that Dodge has made to date except for the Viper! It can beat the Eagle Talon tsi or the new eclipse v6 in the quarter, and beat the 1990's 5.0 mustang and mustang cobra 0-60. The SRT-4 is actually faster than most stock turbo'd 4 cyls in its price range. The srt4 came out of the factory with a safe street tune, capable of being a reliable daily driver. Think of it like this. You could balls out build a 2.0l all motor neon and beat stock srt4s. But you've reached the end for the 2.0l all motor neon just to beat a stock srt4. You could still mod the srt4 and that will smoke the built NA neon.

SRT-4 base price WAS $24k after financing, Stock 1/4 mile is 14 seconds.
I built a 10-second Honda for 25k, including the car, fully streetable. I also built an 11-second supercharged VR4 for $22k.
There's 20 other cars off the top of my head I could buy & modify to run better numbers for less than you bought that car for.

I've seen domestics from fours to eights blowing up alot more than any jap car. The 1.6 4age can hold a turbocharger pushing 13 psi on stock internals. 2.0 EJ20's have been seen pushing 1000+ whp with proper tuning. All motor 1.8 B18's can make more than 300whp and be daily driven. I haven't seen a motor that is purely american built holding alot of power, staying alive without being rebuilt. In all this info, I've basically told you to shut up, in case your not smart enough to understand.

Actually YOU need to do YOUR research because the ORIGINAL SRT-4 2.4l engine was ALL DODGE. The turbocharger was Mistu. And something else you didn't know, Dodge owned DSM. Wikipedia dot com!

Mitsubishi and Dodge came together to make DSM, think about the name Diamond(referring to the shape of the mitsubishi logo) Star(referring to the shape of the chrysler logo) Motors. I know this kid.. And as I stated earlier, the srt-4 engine was made by DSM. Which happens to be a collaboration of the two companies.
