If you watched this entire game (usa v brazil), you will probably see that this is the only time that murilo did this. It is not a 'brazilian' thing to land on the other net, other players from all different skill levels do that and none of it is on purpose.
@dezrax murilo had a lot of momentum when he landed, so rather than awkwardly stop himself by hanging on the net, he simply carried on underneath. he didn't make eye contact with any of the american players, no staredowns or laughing in their faces, he just slowed himself down and went back to his own side.
I think you are completely right. For the game to be safe, players should stop before the line. In addition, it is technically correct to land on your own side of the court and do not cross the line. Even though the spike was really powerful, it was not carried out the way it should be done.
Sadly, it is perfectly legal to cross the line after the ball hits the floor.

Look that for a fraction of second Lloy Ball almost had a good block as he closes the space from atenna, but Murilo is quicker. And Murilo was not a backcourt player, actually he was playing at position #4 having a great pass to setter Marcelo Elgarten. At 1.00 second you can clearly listen Marcelo calling this play to Murilo. It was easy to forecast, but difficult to block. USA feared Dante and Giba attack

He couldn't b/c Murilo hit it straight down b/c the set was tight. Ball would have blocked such a tight set from where he was, if he were there early enough. But he wasn't. The problem was not where he was but when he was there. Brasil took a risk setting so tight, and it worked out for them.

He touched the bottom part of the net which is not a foul anymore. But at the time this was filmed it was still a foul, however, he touched the net after the ball touched the ground so it's all good :)
@pezy1408 his arms would only experience at most 5 seconds of pain...they wont fall off! volleyball is made from a type of synthetic that bounces kindly on the skin..its unlike a soccer ball or a basketball wic would have broken anyone's arms with that kind of force. but a basketball or soccerball's weight is heavier than a volleyball which makes it impossible to fly at such great speed! wow, wonder if they measured..it must have been 600miles an hour speed!!

In the fact you're quite right. The thing is that you're allowed to touch the net anywhere except from the top part (the white top lane, i don't know how it's called in english i'm french).
So for example in this case if Murilo had touch the bottom part of the net anywhere except from the top, there'd have been no fault.

@pezy1408 his arms would only experience at most 5 seconds of pain...they wont fall off! volleyball is made from a type of synthetic that bounces kindly on the skin..its unlike a soccer ball or a basketball wic would have broken anyone's arms with that kind of force. but a basketball or soccerball's weight is heavier than a volleyball which makes it impossible to fly at such great speed! wow, wonder if they measured..it must have been 600miles an hour speed!!

Troška ťa vyvediem z omylu. Nebolo to ponad bloky. Medzi anténou a blokom bola medzera, cez ktorú to zasmečoval. A druhá vec, nebolo to do debla. Zasmečoval to priamo pred univerzála, ktorý stál asi meter za deblom.

You are defaintely allowed to go under. Just don't touch the net, don't step fully into the opponents court, and don't interfere with their play.
Of course none of this even applies here because the ball was down on floor before he was....

Plus, play was over before he even landed, so it doesnt really matter. Once the ball hits the floor, he can do whatever he wants. =P

In the fact you're quite right. The thing is that you're allowed to touch the net anywhere except from the top part (the white top lane, i don't know how it's called in english i'm french).
So for example in this case if Murilo had touch the bottom part of the net anywhere except from the top, there'd have been no fault.
