  • seems like a $25 sheet of 3/4" MDF is a small investment..

  • @jdchmiel The store had run out, so fancied giving the thinner stuff a try - works fine on 20 watts a side

  • гений просто, наделал сумасшедших лабиринтов из фанеры толщиной с бумагу )), интересно как он все эти ходы рассчитал...

  • crazy box

  • nai golqmata prostotiq ....( very stupid )

  • And them speakers r junk

  • @ZIZZLEDOG AWe use all the best quality stuff here at Creative Realistic Audio Products! :-))

  • @chas99950 Too much damping to be a tuned pipe, tuned pipe would need to be stright, or with sweeping bends like a trumpet, not square corners.

  • good work ccw! be good to hear the result at some time! can't people understand that 24 watts thru them isn't gunna shake anything loose? i do get that this is an experiment on a low budget & with 2nd hand ply. i dunno how many times you're gonna have to repeat yourself! some of these dickheads must think you have to have a thousand watt amp to be able to hear it! ignore the -ve comments mate! i guarantee most of those guys have never built one.

  • @niftynev2005 Thanks for all that, yse I must do a follow up video - alas I better hurry up as my son got fed up of his car breaking down and has just bought himself a Prius (cos his dad has one and it never goes wrong), so I better hurry up before the car its in goes....

  • Warum hast du nicht gleich pappe genommen?

  • que merda

  • srsly ?? xD

  • Looks like a maze in there.

  • Nice try for experimental purpose. You'll get too much reflection back to the driver from inside. The cabinet shall be sounding too.

  • Great job in building this. Serious kuddos. The reason I say this is because about 2 months ago, I became inspired to create my own version of this transmission line, and after crafting it with cardboard, my initial idea was almost identical to your design. Weird..my transmission is vertical in nature, choking the aperture from a 5" to 2" with a possible bass reflex built inside the cabinet wired out of phase with around a 6" port. 2 - 5" with 1 - 2 1/2" tweeter...it's gonna be awesome.

  • @amount811 Sounds impressive! Will be interesting to hear how it goes....

  • I feel like a mouse looking at it.

  • Wrong build ,you need MDF

  • @KJDJBeatsOfficial Agreed - but a had a pile of scrap wood and elcheapo speakers - so we built this 'just to see what would happen' :)

  • The largest issue with this enclosure is going to be the build accuracy (cuts that line up properly and don't leak) and yet an even bigger problem is the wood that was selected for the project. It is VERY thin for any speaker, let alone a woofer/subwoofer setup. I'm certain there will be a ton of box resonance with this setup. Aside from that. I like the idea of experimenting with audio. It's really the best way to learn! Thanks for the vid! Try 3/4" mdf next time. :)

  • @criticallistenphile I had lots of fun sealing the line! It doesn't rattle - only because of the basic 20watts a side. Sounds much better then it should. MDF would be better, and I'd make the line and the sides out of one long strip cut to size - so evweything is exactly the same width. Rounded corners on the line might help too - think Bose Acoustiwave radio...

  • great box design but the gaps are not to small?,won't the speakers push too much air for the wood to handle....

  • @sspaz1984 It's not as loud as it would be with bigger tunnels, but the low frequency sounds escape nicely - so the deep bass comes through which is nice. It's ok with a basic 20w per channel amp - a bigger amp would require a more heavilly built box

  • looks like something Bose would design.

  • @ecoots THANK YOU!!!! Nice to know someone 'gets it'...!

  • Please don't let this Guy pick up anymore tools. Which program did you use to design and build this enclosure? I've never seen a design like this.....TL with passive radiators. looks more like a long ass port.

  • @Fabrication254 Nice to have so many people admiring my design! ;-)) No passive radatiors, port not yet cut out of the box....

  • @Fabrication254 LOL!!! I was gonna say is this a parody skit ? wtf?

  • @aLocoCooKo Another admirer of my fine TL bass box ;-))

  • что за говняшница?

  • LOL that material!

  • @MrM4z4 A most fine and handsome cabnet don't you think?? ;)

  • but you don't take the best wood ! ..

  • @serdar368 It was mainly made from scrap after the DIY store had run out of thicker ply - it does work and no rattles! But then it's only 20watts a side :)

  • Comment removed

  • @ChuffChuffWoo

    I think it's better so , I use MDF .. It's the best wood for subwoofers ! I don't taste a case like that

  • @serdar368 Yes MDF is ideal, so is chipboard - both very 'dead' so less prone to resonences.

  • @ChuffChuffWoo

Ok , i don't know what you're write there^^, good luck whit your woofer :)

  • you spent all that time making a proper cab and put shitty soundlab drivers in it .... you will never have optimal sound using cheap drivers & an over comlex design

  • @ravingking At 20 watts a channel, it doesn't need fancy drivers or massively thick timber.

  • if u know about sound u should round out the corners there is too many sharp corners where sound can get trapped or interuppted. and the wood is too thin.

  • que pedo con tu laverinto we mal pedo :D

  • Don't know if it will work... haven't built one before nobody knows....

What poppycock.... they have books out there on how to build a proper box for subwoofers.

  • @LordToxygene Yes BASS REFLEX 'bang boxes' not TL designs of which this one is a fine example

  • it's probably best to keep it sealed. it should work well on a PC :)

  • @vlaoo People are really liking the design - keep the comments coming! :-)

  • Agreed.. POOR design.. like he says.. keep trying..

  • I know the brand name of this speaker....it's CRAP

  • @MelleTwaklapper CORRECT! It stands for "Creative Relistic Audio Products" ;-))

  • @ChuffChuffWoo

Ok, i give you the creative part....

    Goodluck with it ;-)

  • if anyone watching this video is actually looking to build a box, do the exact opposite of everything this guy does.

  • @IMI4tth3w But apart from that, you like the design ;-))

  • @IMI4tth3w fuck u go to hell this guy is awsome

  • wood thickness = fail

fixing sub inside the box = fail

how you've made the box = fail

fitting tweeters in a sub box = fail

how youve gone about making the t-lane route =fail

seriously set away from the tools, get some one to build you one

that wood will flex massively. i wouldn't be surprised if you blow the walls out and also id like to see that be air tight and how your going to attempt to remove the subs when you decide to change them, or if you ever need to recone.

    good luck any way.....

  • @vikkiandbradley07 But apart from the above, you like it! ;-)) This box will never be reconed, if it fails, we'll chuck it out, it's built from scrap anyway after the diy shop had run out of the correct thicker wood, we built it from what we had, to seal the internal baffles, the lid was lined with a thin sheet of polystirene and just screwed on. Its not supposed to work but it does! Probably cos its only 20 watts a side.

  • JUST BUY A DAMN PHASE INVERTER!!

  • @TheRumpletiltskin To do what??

  • @ChuffChuffWoo to put the sound wave back in phase, no need for a giant maze...

  • @TheRumpletiltskin Both drivers are in phase, the port was cut in the box later - it's between the tweeters

  • @SuperSexyTasty It's not cardboard, its ply. Mids are stiff enough to handle the pressure waves off the 20 watt bass drivers, with 200w drivers, the mids would need their own box.

  • @ChuffChuffWoo You seriously believe 200watts speakers can/will play louder than 20watts speakers? Its the AMPLIFIER that decides how much watt goes through your speakers, not the rating of the speakers themselves. Get a wall/box for the midranges! ;-)

  • im guessing its a pull push config.? if its a push pull, wouldnt that sound worse then intended?

  • @PJRehlaender No - normal sterio

  • @PJRehlaender No - normal sterio. Re: the comment "wouldn't that sound worse then intended" No I intended it to sound terrible but it didn't sound worse! ;-))

  • Holy shit lmfao

  • a maze box lol

  • umm. it might be out of phase if you could hear both the back and front of the speaker driver. when your standing infront of a speaker you cant hear the back. therefore there is no interruption or phasing.

  • ahahah qualità del suono.. SCARSA.. non si fanno con pezzi di compensato le casse ma ben si di mdf almeno di 19 mm.

  • i'd never build an closed T-line but sounds amzing for sure HAHAHA xD

  • @casemodder89 The port was cut our after this video was made.

  • nice home for my rats

  • It seems maze

  • it will brake when you are gonna lift it....

  • @alie480 actually its quite strong - but it's only 20 watts per side so I get away with thin wood...

  • @MIKEFROSTED Guess you like the design then!! ;-))

  • Maybe its stiffer than it looks. I bet the box is light as he'll lol

  • @bigdee2189 Yes my son was worried about the weight - his car only has a tiddly engine! :-))

  • @ChuffChuffWoo Ok... he has a small engine and he wants a subwoofer thats light... I get that part, but that means his car wont work if he has a passenger with him or what? I mean i have a pretty big woofer in my car and its not even half the weight of a person... It seems like it could be alot better if you would just make it stronger and use a bigger woofer. Like a 10" or so.

  • If it works it works. Nice idea for sure

  • Don't you think those this ass card board bullshit is gonna flex and affect the tuning?

  • What the he'll are you doing?

  • Comment removed

  • @thano111 Alas lack of space ment that this was a bit of an experiment as we didn't have the space for a 'proper' TL. Works well on 24watts per side - wouldn't handle high power.

  • Since they are in the same enclosure, have you noticed the back wave from the woofer interfering with the mid at all? Not the air pressure, but the actual sound wave causing distortion in the mid band frequencies. I guess it would depend on what the crossover point is.

  • @nuttertube Probably would sound better with seperate enclosures but no, mind you, can anything make the stuff 18 year olds play these days sound better....!

  • very bad job. the wall behind the sub is to close.

  • @ProSoundXD The close baffle limits cone movement, reducing mid bass in favour of deep base, so yes not efficient, but actually sounds ok on a cheap setup.

  • It will break first.

  • @1BlubeTube Its held together so far, no rattles or issues.......

  • Wood on the inside is too thin.

  • cp its bad use medium for bass lol

  • and also you wanna use min. 1/2 inch mdf for enclosures. plywood will create distortion and will rattle and fall apart

  • i made my first box that way and scrapped it once i blew my first set of mids

  • your sub is in the same enclosure as your mid! your mid will blow due to excessive air volume created by the sub.

  • @DjErryl I was worried about that but the mids are very stiff so don't notice the bass - this is not a high power setup - 20ish watts per side, the idea was to get more efficient bass from the power we had. We're getting away with the thin ply and other shortcomings on account of the modest power. At 200 watts it would all fall apart.

  • but the poly wood seemed too thin man.

  • @bigcatdairy Yes it probably is but it seems to work ok

  • Yes they probably are - especially near the speaker end - the DIY store had sold out of the thicker plywood that we wanted, so we built it with the thinner stuff they did have - seems to work ok.

  • I think the walls are too thin, but please correct me

  • Nice work.

  • @magna59 Thanks! - sounds great too - sounds 'expensive'.
