i used to go coon hunting with my grandpa and he was the best had a coon in the barn and would string it up after dunking the coon into the pond. the dogs would then smell they wet coon and go crazy. then we would go out to the woods he would let them go and find the coon. will never forget harvey Roan

thats a nice seet of coon dogs u got there i have a three year old walker and the person who had him before me beet him so he's timid andhe dident hunt ween i got him and iv had him for about4 or 5 months and he would run from a coon and now he's treeing 3 and some times 4 coons a night

Great video. I wish I had a coon dog! I have a question regarding coons and Parvovirus. I have heard that dogs can contract Parvo from coons and that the virus is always changing, so even if a dog has a Parvo vaccine, it can still get sick. Have you ever had a dog contract Parvo from a coon? I own a German shorthair pointer, It is just a concern I have in case I happen to run into a coon while hunting birds.

Well here in Arkansas we have the cleanest coons around. No rabies or parvo. I have hunted with many older dogs even out of state and all these dogs been bitten by coons several times and never got sick. Even I have been bitten a time or to. lol Your dog will be all right if he got bit.

Well I have quit killing coons unless im training a pup but the coon hides are not worth nothing no more. Just skin them out and use them to train a pup and feed the leftovers to ur dog.

i've never been hunting for raccoons but I love hunting dogs. Three questions 1)do you always shoot the coon first. 2) have raccoons ever killed any of your dogs 3) it seemed the dogs just wanted to harrass the coon - do they ever kill them right away?

I don,t always shoot the coon but lately just leave it in the tree but yes I shoot the coon then dogs get to kill the coon young dogs are always slow on killing it and no I have never had a coon kill a dog.

Man you all have some topnotch hounds and something I havent seen in walkers in a while and thats grit. I would like to know what bloodline your dogs are out of. I have an 8 month old puppy whose bloodline go's back to thundren Clide and nocktunel Naller. I have had her treein since she was 6 months old but she has no grit. She just like's to sit back and bay.

Its one of them english setter bird dogs, but its a pup. He said I gota keep trainin her cause he wants her to be one hell of a pointer. Get a Blue pup out Slim Shady and you'll find yourself hunting the best. He's what the blue dog has lacked for years can smoke any track and goes as far as need every drop and will have the meat eveytime he gets wooded.

These look like good dogs, the whiter did good for a while but then got bit pretty good, they don't need to fight them for that long to still want to tree, a little fight might be good, but I don't like to watch the coon fighting for his life for very long, I'd pretty mean to if I was being attacked. There's good dogs of every kinds but Walker's have impressed me the most.
