Jeremy singing, and cos it's not his style, i mean some songs from true obsessions where cool, but future addict... i dont know it's just shit (sorry marty)
Ron's my music teacher, heh, still to this day am taking lessons from him. He told me he was going on a tour with Marty and said he'd be gone a while.
I have typically found that when people "claim" to be better than another "famous" guitar player, musician, whatever, it's all talk. There is a reason Marty Friedman is Marty Friedman. Yes, he is unique, but few people can play his stuff because of his phrasing and sense of melody and time. Just because you can play all of Vai's tunes note for note doesn't make you as good or better because chances are what these guys are capable of doing is only a fraction of what you see live on on record.
@trex257 The usual for this is because they don't realize that they're not that good, speaking from experience, a lot of people might think they're awesome, but they're actually not so good, being fast or anything is one thing, but being able to rarely miss any notes, not making that sliding noise when you fret, holding all notes as long as possible, definition, muting properly, good vibrato at the right time, cutting all noise when necessary, all of these aspects can mean everything in the end.
Nah. You are a fucking prick. I choose...to allow you to continue suffering with your own mortal misery. You wouldn't know guitar if a string cut off your little dick.
cacophony should not be touched by anyone but marty and jason! period. cacophony was marty and jason, its not him and jarzombek.
owns friedman 10times over, friedman could probably play anything jarzombek wrote, and likewise, just because they dont write songs at 1093bpm doesnt mean theyre better, the fact marty can write AMAZING melodies and write catchy songs like that is what makes him such a great guitarist.
"friedman could probably play anything jarzombek wrote"
Ha ha ha - we have a comedian in our midst! Who is the retard here?
Mary has a many great qualities, incl. killer phrasing, but he couldn't play half of Jarzombek's stuff on his best day because he simply doesn't have the chops.
marty cut down on his chops, im pretty sure his work in cacophony and the fact he could play alot of things jason becker could (infact he played them at a benefit gig) proves marty has chops.
I know a lot more than you'll ever know about guitar! You're probably too clueless to even realize that Ron's playing was actually an influence on Cacophony and Jason, which Marty has confirmed in conversations. Marty even tried to get WatchTower's rhythm section to join Cacophony's in the formative days.
someone is a bit egotistical? im not doubting ron is an amazing player. and i know that they were an influence. gosh. i never even said he was bad, get a clue on what youre arguing about before you have to resort to 'im better' because you cant even argue that since youve never even met me :)
God some people are stupid on here. It doesn't matter who can plays who's music. Its about who writes the parts. I can play everything friedman does and more but I stand no chance of ever being as good as he is as he wrote them and he is totally unique.
It impresses me that someone can play someones guitar parts as much as it impresses me that someone can copy a famous painting.
You make a valid point. I am better than Friedman. BUT- I am not an 'entertainer.' I broke off from Yngwie's teachings in 1984 to my own style- and that was after worshipping Steve Howe, Jimmy Page, Mick Taylor, etc. I think imitation is great flattery- but eventually, one needs to become their own musician.
I was never impressed by any of the material you mentioned. Jason was a step behind IMO, and I fear he would have ended up in hair-band heaven. They just didn't bring anything other than the duet. Sad.
Ron Jarzombek is highly overrated, as is jet Li. These guys are offering nothing, and cannot even get endorsed. RJ needs a BAND with some 'at his level' PLAYERS AND A SINGER THAT DOESN'T WAIL. I am thinking the days of 'guitar gods' are fading fast. No new talent, no new sound, and the last of the magic players- Malmsteen likely the oldest who can thrash at 45- Petrucci catching up fast- have no peers.
You are f'n ignorant! Ron is endorsed by Digi Tech, and he is not interested in a guitar endorsement because he builds his own guitars to his specs. Ron's new band Blotted Science is INSANE and frankly without peer right now.
Obviously you don't know much about Ron Jarzombeks music. He has a very individual understanding of music, I love his technical and experimental approach and his originality. The Spastic Ink and Blotted Science albums offer me more than enough (and WatchTower were just genius :-) ).
Endorsements? LOL there are hundreds of musicians that would fail your "criterias" but they are endorsed. what does that tell us? :D
@rrhodes1980 he was pretty clear on why megadeth wasn't sufficiently progressive/diverse for him... why would he want to come back to a situation where he's severely limited, and has to take orders from an inferior guitarist?
This song is amazing. I love how Loudspeaker has managed to incorporate Japanese rock/pop sounds and come out creating a unique type of sound. It doesn't have the cheesiness of J-pop/rock, but it has the rocking spirit!
i really miss Megadeth's rust in peace lineup .

Dreadful sound. Hey boyz grow up it's 2007, not 1987. Friedman has slowed considerably. Thank God for Malmsteen.

Jarzombek owns Friedman 10 times over.
Too bad Marty refuses to play Cacophony stuff live even though he's got a guitar player at his side who could pull off Becker's parts.
