  • Thanks for sharing your video. Still no issues with the flame angel to this point?

  • @MXrsWoW92

I have a Biocube HQI and I kept it stock with the MH lighting. I want to upgrade to the 20K MH lights but with the 14K they come with I have no heating issues. I still run a heater in my tank to keep the temp consistant.

  • Wow.... must have cost u a fortune

  • I Have the same tank tank as your. With the filter on the back.. Can i have corals and dont have a protein skimmer?

  • awesome aquarium, oh and haha at 0:43 look how fat the lawnmower blenny is :)

  • Beautiful! I am buying my first 29 gal oceanic biocube today. I've had freshwater tanks in the past so this will be the first time with saltwater (fish only). I hope mine will be as pretty as yours! I would love to do a reef aquarium in the future when I am more experienced.

  • is there a lawnmower blenny in there?

  • this awesome , i hope one day i have one like your

  • Dang man by far the best marine reef tank that i have seen on you tube i wish i could see it in HD but great job.

  • wow really nice tank...

  • amazing color, nice video!!!

  • First-class video with charming admissions! Very well formed aquarium! Fantastic underwater impressions!

  • I'm trying to start a 14 gallon Bio-cube tank. How should I go about this? I understand live-rock is a must, but how do I prepare the water? and sand? Any and all tips would be very helpful. I'm very new to salt-water tanks and I would appreciate the help!

  • do you every have problems with sudden changes in temperature or chemical levels?

29 gallons isnt the most stable platform, so i was just wondering.

  • very nice tank, what kind of lighting do u use?

  • i think he has micro Algae in his tank like mine my yellow tang its that shit

  • i have a saltwater 29 gallon biocube setup to easy to clean everthing is built in this tank persons tank is great

  • hey ,an i have a tank with piranhas in it( see my vid to see what im talking about) when they die can i keep eavrything in there still like my filter or do i need to get someting els?

  • can you give a list of the occupants in your main tank because i want to copy your setup

  • It appears to have: A lawnmower blenny, flame angel, 2 percula clownfish and a sixline Wrasse.

  • stop looken at ur own vids prick

  • wow!!

    i have a question:

is it hard to clean and is it saltwater???

  • @jlrsmiles

Yes it is very hard to clean the tank.

    It is saltwater.

  • This is the best NanoReef I ever saw. I love the natural fish movement and the clarity of the water. Your lawnmower blenny is a real character. My daughter and I love the music. It's not GAY! Can you share the name of group, etc. so I can put it on my ipod? Thank you again!

  • sweet tank dude

  • what does the refugium do?

  • holds little animals called copepods and amphipods to feed fish and corals, and also holds macroalgae to export nutrients out of the water.

  • @fishfishfsish acts as the filtration for the main tank

  • best tank I'd ever seen...........WOW!!!!!!!!!!

  • can i convert my freshwater to saltwater? if so what kind of stuff would i have to add to it to amke it saltwater?/cost?

    thanks-Jill

  • Great Video and Awesome Tank! I have a 29g and have had it now a year or so. It is in a transformation as I got rid of some Damsels that killed anything I put in it. I am moving 100% to a reef... I just found out there is a in-line UV Sterlizer and Protein Skimmer made for these. I bought the Simmer and have just installed it. Are you using either?

  • agree with Halo--- think that scooter is/was preg'o. i didnt know 2 scooters get along in tank. also, flame doesnt eat your coral?

  • dude the tank is amazing., the scooter blenny i believe its called, is it pregnant its belly is pretty big.

  • whats a refugium

  • You mean a 14g biocube

  • This tank is seriously the reason i desided to switch to saltwater last year! Great video! (I just made one my self check it out!)

  • Thats really nice. I just orderd the 29 gallon oceanic biocube. I would love to have a setup like this. DId you modify the lighting? Have you had any problems with the flame dwarf angel?

  • Thanks. I did not modify the lighting at all. No problems with the angel.

  • @fredknack

did you have to buy a heater? I heard the lights heat the thing up pretty good. I just ordered an Ocianic Biocube HGI model (better lighting) and I was reading that it gets the water so hot i might need a chiller. I hope i dont need to get a chiller because they seem to cost anywhere from $300-$1000!

  • @MXrsWoW92 You wont need a chiller. I have a Biocube HQI as well and I have no over heating issues.

  • wow that is nice i realy like how much diffrent colers in to min i am going to a pet store and i will see if there is such a good tank as you but i wont see such a good tank like yours in a long time dude lol love the tank

  • If I were to go to a local stream and take some driftwood, and then rinse it in very hot water then soak, then rinse, then soak etc, would it be okay to put it in my 29 gallon aquarium? please someone reply.

  • You can but you should opt for real or fake live rock. You want all the micro organisms to colonize the live rock and filter your aquarium. Wood won't do this. The live rock will look much better and give more small critters a place to hang out. Trust me. Save a few bucks and get some live rock.

  • okay thanks, just buy some of the live rock from like petco/ petsmart? or can i find it somewhere?

  • @fredknack live rock only good for salt water?

  • @polevaulter6916 yes only good for saltwater

  • I would deffinately not do that. Get live rock lol

  • @DemonicRoadrunnerInc driftwood actually floats, hints drift wood, aquarium sells stuff that looks like drift wood, and it wont float.....

  • @DemonicRoadrunnerInc STORES*****

  • I would like to build a salt water aquarium and I have 30 gal glass tank wht should I buy or what stuff di I need? I mean how to maintain the salt water p04 nitrates etc..? im newbie... help ..

  • Awesome tank! Did you have to buy new lighting to support all that coral? I have a16 gallon BioCube and my friend says I need to get stronger lighting...???

  • WOW ! I'm speechless. That is a what I call a GORGEOUS aquarium. You did an awesome job, frednack. :)

  • Your tank is beautiful. What kind of fish do you have in there?

  • you should shop around first before you buy the biocube, alot of shops in my area were charging close to 500 for a 34gal, but i found one for 350 at ocean direct

  • Sweeeeet. I'm getting a 34 gallon biocube, and I want it to look just like yours :D

  • its gonna be months maybe years for that....

  • i Have the same tank.Check out my videos!!!! Mine cost about 500 dollars for the tank and it depends on what you get for you tank. This guys tank probualy cost all around about 900 - 1000 with everything. Idk though

  • how much would one spend on a 29 gallon tank like this...

  • i got mine for 270

  • but how much do you think all the stuff cost in the tank... and im asuming its saltwater right?

  • well for me equipment wise was all about $360 as far as living thinks go there are alot of varying (saltwater)

  • I mean how much is the creatures and reef in the tank.

  • well i dont have much at all but i already calculated the amount and to make it look good prepare to spent approx. 300-400

depending on how rare or special u want ur fish corals etc.

  • i got about 1600 in mine and its only a 40 gallon breeder. However its completely custom. Its cheaper when you buy these packages but they require more water changes, well should require

  • i bought a used one for 200

  • Wow your tank looks really nice I love that flame angel

  • do u use the carbon filter or did u take it out??

  • wat r all the fish u have in this 29g tank??

  • Hah that Salarias is in pretty fat shape :P

  • I am fascinated by and have always wanted to do a reef project. I have the opportunity to purchase an operating 29 stocked with coral and fish for $450.00. Should I jump at this or should I do it on my own. The fully functioning BioCube 29 is on display in an aquatic supply store. It's quite beautiful but not as colorful as I have seen on this site. I'd love to read your comments. Thanks

    I love to hear comments.

  • 29g fully stock?? hmm.... if it comes with adequat lighting, min 65w, adequat= 100 ad up, a least 30pds live rock a skimmer and so on, 450 is more than an amasing deal, read up alot and do it

  • hi just saw your post. what did you decide? is the biocube cool? i'm thinking of getting one.

  • The fish with the green tail and purple striped body is called a six lined wrasse.... they have a wonderfull personality.

  • that is a 12 gallon refugium? Looks bigger.

It must have taken a bit of rigging to work that into the biocube

  • what is the name of the fish with a green tail and purple body??

  • that is a 6 line wrasse

  • Did your biocube come with compact fluorscents? And if you have compacts, can you get anemones?

  • i dont think CF lights put out enough light for a nem, they usually need HO t-5s or MH

  • yea anemones are fine w the biocubes' stock ligting. there are even plenty of healthy amemonies on youtube with biocube

  • Yes my clown fish and my engineer goby both did the same thing. I was wondering how to fix this as well.

  • anyone having this issue? i lost a diamond goby and almost lost another because they both decided to jump into the filter. is there a way to heighten the roof. 29 gallon biocube.

  • Is it the 29G that is no longer running? The set up is so cool! Thank you so much for sharing. Are those false perculas or true perculas?

  • hi i just buy 29 bio cube they have 3 light please tell me what different and how many hours i need to witch on and can i turn on and off many time aday thank you for your help

  • The 29 gal OCEANIC BIO CUBE, what do you think of the tank? Want to buy one and just need your opinion.

    Thanks

  • I bought the biocube and love it

It is 29 gallons of water not filter and heater and all the other stuff. It was a little expensive for only 29 gallons i feel however it is beautiful. First tank. I am 15 and just added some zoas and a mushroom. After a while you will want a bigger tank.

  • Hey Frednack have you posted a video of your 140 yet?

  • Do you have a video update?

  • No. The tank is no longer running. The Oceanic Biocube got me so into reef keeping that I had to expand the system. The fish and coral have been moved to my 140 gallon tank. I will post a new video soon.

  • would you be selling that tank?? id be willing to buy if you live in nyc

  • ferget it you live in oregon

  • Comment removed

  • I introduced a flame angel into the reef tank reef I had setup but he keeps nipping at my corals....why is yours so nice? Is it hit or miss with pigmy angels?

  • sometimes it's hit or miss. I've had better luck with coral beauties.

  • Wonderful setup, I am thinking of doing more coral in my tank, do I need a skimmer? i have a fluval 404 and a really good hydro power head. Thanks

  • Wow! Very nice, I have a 125 arcrylic with some inverts, but I am afraid to try the corals.

  • Thanks. Go for some soft corals and live rock.

  • I have probably 150-200 pounds of live rock. I've tried anenomies, but my starfish eat them. I would at least have to get rid of my chocolate chips before I get corals. Are soft corals very difficult?

  • Thanks for the advise....

  • Sure. Good Luck!

  • how many fish can you put in that cube?

  • I would not put more than 3-5 fish that are between 1.5 and 3 inches tops. Small fish like clowns, gobies, wrasses and blennies seem like good ideas. I would also put a cleaner shrimp or two in.

  • I have one randall goby, maroone clown, solar fairy, mysteri wrasse, velvet wrasee and cherub angel, Should I get get one of them? They are in my JBJ 28 Nano cube.

  • That sounds pretty close to what I had. If you need a new cube then I would say those fish should work.

  • so what I have, they should be okay in there right? Did your biocube come with biocube skimmer?

  • If I add go with a sump setup, will I need the refugium?

  • Many people have there refugium as part of their sump. I would always recommend a refugium for reasons already listed but you don't need one.

  • How did you connect your refugium to your main tank? And is that a 10 gal tank that you are using for the refugium?

  • Question...i have a 55 fish only saltwater that i want to cover to a reef. It already has a protein skimmer and I plan to add about 100 pounds of live rock and a hangon refugium. Would that be sufficient for the reef tank?

  • I think so. A reef is really the way to go. You should try to add a sump if you don't happen to have one try to set one up.

  • I seem to always come back to you setup...man that is beautiful...nice very nice

  • Thanks! Welcome back.

  • what r the dimensions of your tank? plz reply

  • 29 Gal. L 20.8 x W 19 x H 20.1

    Not including Refugium

  • If my tank is 24in x 12in x 16in then how many gallons is it?

  • 18 Gallons

  • Dude ....that's a beautiful tank.very nice

  • Thanks!

  • thatx i love your tank by the way

  • Thanks!

  • dude did u change the lighting from the original setup???? what do u have for flow??? how big is your refugium?

  • Stock lighting. Stock Flow. 12 gallon refugium.

  • really? It seems that they dont do well under 50 gallons. Good Job man! That refugium is brilliant. Do you have a mandarin in there

  • No mandarin

  • I like your setup. Is your Flame Angel still alive ?

  • Alive and well. I have had him for a year and a half now.

  • It's not CG, it's called a good camera and some editing.

I know these are a strange concept for a youtube video...

Nice tank man. I have one with 2 Stubby Ocellaris, a Coral Beauty Angel, a Pygmy Angel, and a Flame Hawk. It's been up for about a year now. If you don't have a skimmer, I would recommend the Bak Pak SR3 by CPR. It's really nice, and it fits right in the middle chamber.

  • Thanks. Editing works wonders with video footage :)

  • Niiiiice! How are you liking the cube setup? Need to buy any extras or mod it? (besides refug) Hows the lighting?

  • I had a set up like that once and almost the same choice of fish.

    real nice man.

  • So if it is computer graphics, how do the fish look so real? You must be good at your job!

  • That is one hell of a tank

it's almost as colour full as jesus's death lol.... jokes

  • wow I love your setup, very nice.

  • Hey!! Great looking biocube!! Mine is in the early stages of it. I have one video up, but that was without a bunch of new rocks and the set up is immensly different(Ill try to get a new vid soon). But do you know, what precausions do you have to take if you have an anemone in your tank? I have one and dont know what kind of distance i need my corals from it... Thanks.

  • Thank you. It is about time someone noticed. I am a professional motion graphics artist and this is my best work since I faked the moon landing and the entire career of Joe Montana.

  • LOL...looks good man.

  • who's joe montanan?

  • You didn't really ask that, did you? You're joking, right?

  • oooo.rainbow fish

  • how much did the setup cost you? plz reply

  • The BioCube was $250.00. 40 lbs Live Rock @ $6.00 per pound. $40.00 for gravel. About $120.00 for fish. The corals probably cost about $100. The additional refugium probably cost another $100. The refugium is critical. I think having a reef tank without one is a waste of time unless you like algae in your tank.

  • I'm new to this. Why is it so necessary to have the refuge? and how does that impact algae?

    thx

  • By growing algae in the refugium it uses up excess nutrients in the water so that the algae does not grow in your main tank. It is also a place for micro critter
