  • thats amazing! very good job!

  • Hitting 50, every now and then I look at an older song on You Tube. Came across this. Very well done and power to you!

  • Excellent cover man!

  • Hey that was great man! I was wondering if you have any idea where to find the guitar tabs or music for this song, I would really love to learn how to play it.

  • @mccraejeremy Sorry, no I don't. I noodled this out on my own, and I don't use tabs either. I found the lyrics by doing a search on google because you just can't understand anything but the chorus in the Youngbloods' original version...LOL.

  • @SilverHamer yeah that's cool. This is a really tough one, it's hard to decipher one guitar from the other, it sounds like there's about 6 guitars playing different little things all at once!! One of those "jingle jangle" songs from the 60's, haha.

  • That sounds just as good as the original.......

  • Awesome! Thanks for the memories.

  • Truly an awesome job thanx.

  • Awesome! I like the youngbloods version better than jefferson airplane. Been trying to put this to music The Sky Within There's a changing sky within us all Be it summer winter spring or fall That does not rely on outside forces But relies instead on inside choices Where distance chills closeness warms Love brings blue skies hatred storms Each thought we think or action take Controls what skies we daily make by: mossrun
  • Execellent! I use backing tracks also with my keyboards to fill in the instruments I don't have. Power To The People!

  • You did a fantastic job! Bravo! You are awesome. Keep up the good work.

  • .Great song from the sixties and you,SilverHamer, have performed it to my absolute delight!!

  • great voice! One of my fav songs.

  • you did great man

  • That was good~!

  • you are a very good singer, did this song VERY well, one of the most beautiful songs and you made it work

  • GREAT JOB!! held true to the original..

  • nice song! You sing well!!

  • i dont know alot about computers this may be a dumb question but is there any way i can download these videos on my computer and make a cd?

  • There is a program you can download for free called Youtube Downloader. Google for it. Youtube converts everything to flash video format, but the downloader will allow you to convert it back to wmv or whatever your favorite video format might be, but wmv is a very common format for Windows Media Player.

  • i may not have explained it right but i want to make a cd to listen to in the car. All i saw at youtube downloader was how to save video.

  • 1. get firefox 2. get VideoDownloadHelper addon...you can download embedded videos (and mp3s) works incredibly well

  • I wished I had half your talent

  • WOW .........good job dude. I'm an old hippie too and this was an anthem for us in those days eh?No wiser words were sung were they?

  • Sounds great man. Good job.....I love that song.

  • this sounds really good with head phones and 7 shots of tequila....

  • HAHAHAHA!!! Thanks. I have an updated (re-mixed) version of this with real drums in the mix that sounds a bit better. Hell...EVERYTHING sounds good after 7 shots of tequila...HAHAHAHA. Thanks for your comment.

  • How's I miss this??........SOOOO Glad I found it,though!! Larry,you are amazing as always!!

  • Love it!! Always a fovorite of mine!!! Thanks for posting!!

  • my favorite of all your videos.

  • Thanks. Check out the "re-mixed" version...it's the 3rd vid in my list on my main page. My cousin Tim came along and replaced the drum machine with some real drums for me...and added some tambourine. It sounds loads better now. :D

    LC

  • FANTASTICOOOO saludos desde ARGENTINA

  • This is great, especially the solo. This song has one of the best solos of the sixties and you captured it very well.

  • wow what a great job you done with this song. excellent voice and guitar playing.

  • Nicely done. The song and lyrics hit the right chord even in this day and age. Maybe especially in this day and age. Thanks.

  • GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

    very good

  • Absolutely incredible my brother, my fogey band has been playing with this tune for about a year now and even with female vocals cant hit it as good as you have. Keep The Faith.

    Peace,

    JB

  • I know how awkward it is laying all the tracks to a song separately but you did a fine job on this one. And a great song at that!

  • awesome. at first i thought you were lipsyncing, thats how good you sound. haha.

  • Dude, very cool. You made my evening very nice. It is very cool that we continue to play these songs. Thankyou. Jean Comeaux

  • i wish i could play like you this is awesome 5/5

  • What kind of guitar is that?

    Fender?

    Chinese?

    Mexican?

    Japanese?

HAHA you know I'm just spoofing you, LC.

    Another great cover!

  • Hehehe...you rascal.

  • Nice to hear people doing great songs not forgotten. Great job!

  • Are you sure that you were not in the youngbloods? Cause it sounds like you were. Very nice cover!

  • AWESOME cover, dude.

  • This is my favorite Larry. Nice Job! Could you lay down a harmony on my Fortunes tune?... lol seriously... It would be great! I'll show you my current video of it.

  • Really nice job. I enjoyed it a bunch.

  • I Love you man! Nce work! all your songs' really!

  • your really good!=D nice job

  • Wish I coulda been there for ya LC.....

  • Very nice! Is that willie nelson doing the back up vocals?

  • batt66red - Is that willie nelson doing the back up vocals?

**********************************************Right on! I thought exactly the same thing while I was enjoying SilverHamer's video.

As you enjoy more of his work you may come to wonder, as I always do, if he is capable of CHANNELLING voices.

  • Using your Larry telecaster!, FINALLY!!

  • Marvelous!

  • Woo! A new video!

    Go SilverHamer, good show.

Hows about "Come Together" next time?

  • Can't promise you anything definite, however, I DO have a cover track I recorded of that song in my archives...I might have to resurrect it and make a video with it...:D It will probably be a while before I am able to get around to it though. Keep in touch...I have lots of other things I'm still working on finishing up.

  • this was great! I lvoe the classics like this, and you did this one justice. awesome guitar tone too!

  • nice!

  • I always enjoy your productions! Too bad your collaboration did'nt happen! I liked that cool speech at end, sounded like it came from Woodstock! This drummer gives you a loud 5/5 Peace out

  • I sort of stole that little speech thing from Cheech & Chong's first album..."Wink Dinkerson" I think is the name of the skit. Dave (fredthejunkman) is an awesome guy to collaborate with and I was really hoping for him to sing the lead on this one. He has a really smooth voice. Check him out when you have a chance.

  • Great Song! Great Guitarist! Wonderful!

  • amazing!!!

  • sounds great bro!! you are awesome!

  • This is awesome because my dad has been telling me for over a week to learn this song i was just learning it today and found out that you made this video you are awesome this is a great video.

Can i ask for a instructional video?

  • You little turkey! You seem to make requests like this when I'm not at home where all of my toys are...LOL. I have a new working schedule which requires me to be away from home for 14 days at a time...but the up-side to that is that I also get 14 days off at home. I won't be home for 2 weeks starting today, so keep bugging me about it...I'll see if I can crank something out, but I can't promise anything. :D

  • Your info was right, I didn't recognize the song 'til the verse came on lol

  • Not heard this before but this is so lovely!

  • Look for "The Youngbloods" and you'll find several videos set to the original tune here on youtube. It's really a nice tune. Thanks for the comment. :D

  • Brilliant - as always Larry

  • Thanks Davi! :D

  • Top notch performance Larry! I love all your covers. Nice to see your tele take center stage on this one as well. :) Sounded great!

    Take care,

    Ed

  • Thanks, Ed. :D She's almost there...still a few minor things I want to do to it but it sure has a great tone. A little work on the nut to finish the set-up and she will be playing like butter :D

  • That was excellent, thanks to Eandksdad for sharing.

  • Loved it. Well done mate.

  • Loved it.

  • Nicely Done! 5/5

    Dave

  • Very Nice Job!! *****

  • Great job Larry. A good Silk Shirt song.

PS: Love the kneck on that guitar.

  • Thankee! That's a Mighty Mite neck :D Still needs a bit of tweaking but it's come along quite well. I think I need to file the string guides in the nut a little bit and it should play like butter :D

  • Great classic tune! Awesome job!!!!

  • Nice Job Larry !! now that I've paid attention to the lyrics, I think we should do this one at our Church

  • I was sort of surprised with the lyrics as well. I think they deliberately used voice inflection, timing, and alternate pronounciation of some of the lyrics to disguise them or something because there seems to be some obvious references to a Christian theme in this tune. Until I could read the lyrics along with the original, I had no clue what he was saying except in the chorus. LOL.

  • Another great piece of work Silver! That song brings back a lot of memories for me. I turn the big five-0 on May 1st and I was just a young pup when that song came out. Where the heck did all that time go............... ( :

  • Remember when 20 years seemed like it would be an entire lifetime? Scary stuff!! I will be 53 in August...to quote Dylan, "I was so much older then but I'm younger than that now." :D Thanks for the very nice comment...and Happy birthday! :D

  • Excellent, Larry. New Tele? It sounds great!

  • I believe that's the "LarryCaster", a tele he made by himself :p

  • Yepper, that's the LarryCaster alright :D I finally got around to using it on a video. :D I haven't been using it because I don't want to cause people to drool so much...BWAHAHAHA. If you look closely enough you can see where I've drooled on it myself...ROFL.

  • That's my home-built Tele. I finally got around to using it on one of my videos. I call it a home-built but it would be most applicable to call it home-assembled though. There's a video in my list from a bit over a year ago where I sort of show it off a bit...it wasn't really quite finished back then. Thanks :D

  • That's some nice work mate! I can imagine that guitar would have a special feel. It has a great sound, help in no small part by the player.

  • Has anyone ever told you that your voice has a "Willie Nelson" color? Even your harmony has textures similar to his.

I don't mean that as a dig. I like Willie.

Great job as always LC !

    MB

  • Hey, Willie's from Texas and so am I! Must be the jalepenos we both grew up eating :D LOL. I'll take your compliment :D Thanks.

  • Well done, my friend.

  • Fresh cover. Nice !
