conservatives need to start getting serious about the constitution and state sovereignty. obviously he's correct about health care here but i feel like most people don't even understand the fact the constitution gaurantees us all a federal gov't that's small and protects freedom. Well, I think we're going to have this heath care debate for years. It's not going to be easy to satisfy the majority of Americans. I like Rand Paul's idea of making solutions to problems LOCAL instead of bringing it to the federal level.

The man asking the question brings up an issue people (I hope) are quietly realizing. The mixed economy, the half socialism, half capitalism, system we have can NEVER work.

A government can't give something away without stealing it from someone else; so A. The government has to stop giving things away, or B. The government has to steal "fairly".

This was the justification Obama gave, when he proposed forced health insurance, people have to "do their part".

well I suppose I am exaggerating, but Some people have been wondering though because 1. From this video he seems to support the fair/flat tax (as oppose to his dad, who wants no income or sales tax) 2. I heard he supports the Afghanistan war

The flat tax is the only tax that makes sense. The federal government has to function somehow and to me that seems to be the fairest way.

He said that he would have supported what was perposed to congress at the time which was to hunt down Osama and friends. Even Ron Paul voted for that. But a declaration of war agaisnt the country of Afghanistan/the Taliban is out of the question since they did not attack us. I give money to Schiff but Rand gets more of Schiff's slice of my pie since he is only going on tv and posting vlogs, he needs to get out there and engage the poeple like Rand is doing or I feel like I'm wasting my money.

Ron Paul also voted in favor of authorizing the War in Afghanistan. After 9/11 it made sense to go after those who attacked us.. what doesn't make sense is nation building or taking on non-international forces like the Taliban.

Anti-trust has nothing to do with the health insurance. Read the Objective Standard article on my Youtube page about Blue Cross and Blue Shield's rise to being the dominant health insurance providers. Also don't forget that you can't buy insurance across state lines. Regarding anti-trust law, it's nothing but a law that creates incentives for less-efficient competitors to try and beat up on their competition. Please read about such things before you spew such nonsense.

What the experience of the UK, the Soviet Union, and everywhere else that has tried this shows, is that when you don't have a functioning pricing system to arbitrate between the supply and the demand, you get rationing by congestion.

damn Rand is spot on....nobody pays attention to the cost when it's free...drs charge the highest amount possible, nobody is price comparing...then you have people going all the time who don't necessarily need to. I don't see why doctors visits can't be treated like any other service where we just pay cash. Costs would go down immediately because the customers would be much more price conscious.

Plus you simply CANT make it free.. Who pays the doctors, who pays for the manufacturing of the medicine, for the research for new cures, for the ambulance service, etc etc etc.... Health care is difficult because it is your most vital need as a human being and should thus be a primary concern. Most of us dont forage and hunt anymore 24/7 but we instead work at jobs, this labor is exchanged for money which is exchanged for food and healthcare. The cost is a reality of being alive!
