@reidrules45 it's a separate disorder, one that has a strong and identifiable genetic link. Fragile X is a gene mutation. Autism doesn't have a known cause yet. However Fragile X can produce autism-like symptoms and signs, including sensory problems.

Actually many children with fragile x do look different (enlarged ears etc) but isnt as obvious as down syndrome
