Look up Verdun, First Battle of the Marne where the French numbered 1 million in comparison to 70,000 brits, while against 1.4 million Germans. This was practically a French victory. The French army numbered over 8 million with only 500,000 colonial troops and the Legion is a tiny minority.

Gouraud directed the suppression of a rising of Turkish National Forces at the Battle of Maraş which led to the withdrawal of French troops back to Syria.............actually there was no army there just turk civilian rebels..lollolololol

All men who weighed more than 45 kilos where send to the front lines, so the anzacs, british, armenians, french, greeks, got beaten by an army of Turkish kids with no training, shortage of weapons and ammo/food/water/clothing. You got your ass kicked by an army who's officers had to use the materials of their tents to make uniforms they did not have.

@3choBlast3r, In WW I, the French fought and held off the Germans for over three years and they didn't surrender. They sacrificed more men than Britain and America combined. Look up Verdun, First Battle of the Marne where the French numbered 1 million in comparison to 70,000 brits, while against 1.4 million Germans. This was practically a French victory. The French army numbered over 8 million with only 500,000 colonial troops and the Legion is a tiny minority.

You are the bigger coward in insulting dead men who cannot fight back, some honor you have. In WW II, almost 100,000 French died in six weeks, and that is almost comparable to the WW I death ratio. There were many nations in Europe that surrendered to the Germans faster than France did.
