@DudeOpenWide I'm not a blood relative. At the time i was an obnoxious white kid that Larry was teaching the ropes to. He taught me well as i'm still performing and recording as a livelihood . I remember meeting you, however briefly, back around 1983 or so. Basically just a quick hello nice to meet you type of thing, in St.Louis, so no, you probably wouldn't remember . I doubt if i made an impression. Hope you are doing well, I owe Larry a lot. john mcvey
Thanks this is GREAT Just when you think you've heard alot stuff like this hits dead center & you wake up going WOW! Got a great version of Texas Flood off Serius radio that makes me want to throw away my SRV cover. No offense intended but it's sooo intense! Larry Davis is GREAT
My name is John McVey and Larry is the man that brought me up and taught me how to play. I hear this music and i'm instantly transported back to standing right next to him on stage. It was an incredible time and thank you very much for putting this up. I miss my "dad" very much.
@johnjeffmcvey He must have had several, because i am his son from St. Louis. I grew up living with him in Little Rock on 4401 w. 17th st. if that rings a bell. Me and my siblings use to go on the road with him and Oliver Sain who's wife still lives here in St. Louis. Use to live with his mother Mattie Pain is Little Rock as well. Never heard of you however.
I have not heard of Larry Davis. Man oh man is this guy good!! Have to do some research on him, thanks for uploading!! I will have to learn to play in A chord better so I can play along with this song even though there is a really good keyboard player.
