  • I have been regularly bugging I-Tunes to include this song on their playlist/purchase agreements list: no luck so far! I can only hope all of you Mac fans will also put in your requests for this great song, and for other early Mac songs...

  • This album flowed from one great tune to the next one an each one complemented the other, the same mood, etc.

  • Danny Kirwan! FM was really good from start to finish.

  • Great tune , when their were at their best . Before Rumors and everyone did not know them.

  • It's amazing how words can get locked in one's head. Singing is a new hobby of mine, that is, in terms of stress management. My problem is, that I have no drive. It blows my mind how some people just know what it is they want to seek and go after it, while others just dream, like myself. Oh well, in the end we are all just " dust" anyways.

Sorry to be so negative, but my coffee and pizzelles are great while looking out at the snow, just to leave with a positive note.

  • @TheChristopherluke Sometimes we just have to appreciate our "Bare Trees"! ..Say, do you think the band got the thought of "Bare Trees" from looking at their band in a time of transition? ..sort of a "skeleton of who we are as a band"? ..Hey, times move fast, our jobs are to try and keep up! ..I think Fleetwood-Mac has done wonderfully in that regard. (..they still have the graciousness to "Show me a little of Your Love!!!) Hah! ..these people show us all that many of us humans can be great!!

  • @Carpfingers To appreciate the bare trees definitely, as the buds wait dormant to come alive with a fresh new spring sweetie ( Carpfingers ) Yes, there is always that time of transition in life, and most likely the Mac experienced it. They certainly still got it Carpfingers, and I truly enjoyed their recent concert they did on Palladia, and can't wait to see it again. I even enjoyed one of their new songs that they have here on youtube " Peacekeeper " But you got to listen to it in Stereo.

  • @TheChristopherluke Oh, ..and I beg you, ..please "SPARE" me the correction, ..I am definitly no "PERFECT" (..though I do love that perfect time!) .. : )

  • @Carpfingers Oh the 70's ! What a time it was, so much originality ! Oh God, What I'd do to get a little taste of that again ! That time was truly sweet and holds a special place in my heart here on Valentines Day ! And Yes, The Mac was all a part of it as I look out at the Bare Trees Glistened with Pure White Virgin Snow !

  • I just always loved that song, and it's a little tough to sing. I could use some improvement and may take singing lessons some day, but for now I'm making a killer pizza ! ( My 1st Love ) I will go now and reload "Dust", but that was not the best take. I am trying to memorize " Question " by the Moody Blues.

  • @TheChristopherluke Youuuu, are just being modest! I wouldn't even dream of it, and I have good pitch. The question? "Watch lights fade from every room." It's nestled in my subconscious. I can wake up in the middle of the night and recite it.

  • Dies ist so ein heißes Lied: Ich habe diese Band vom Anfang geliebt, und danke für dieses Posting auf YouTube!

  • Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to upload all the songs from the Bare trees album, it was the first album I ever owned my dad brought it home when someone left it at the department store he was managing. None of my older brothers wanted it because they never heard of Fleetwood Mac when I played Sentimental Lady for them and told them it was going to be a big hit they laughed at me...Who's laughing now? The whole album is a timeless clasic!

  • It occurs to me this song is a meditation on . . .

  • DAMN, i had good taste, evan back then! thanks, great post!!

  • If this aint travelling music , then what is ?? And riding with the top down ...

  • This is by far the greatest Fleetwood Mac line up.

  • Comment removed

  • I love those chord changes.

  • This is one of those songs -- that was better than the whole album.

  • @ctweebee And the album was great!!!!

  • If youve missed ANY of the pre-Stevie Nicks REAL Fleetwood Mac you've missed the TRUE band. Mick FLeetwood with John McVie were from the original British artists with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers . . . None of that RIANNAN crap . . . Fine wine before it turned to vinegar.

  • beautiful ♫ ♫

  • I gotta find this album...thanks for putting it on. Was beginning to think I just dreamed this up. Cover tune could have been three different great songs.

  • I have always loved this ass-kicking album - the whole thing. i found it again at Barnes & Noble.

  • Great Song ! He was alone on the cold of a winters day, and she was so snug in her bed ? Well, did he finally get any ?

  • @TheChristopherluke Listen to "Rumors" for the answer.

  • @ctweebee From listening to " Rumors " Sounds like he didn't, but I'm not too sure if the two songs: Bare Trees/Rumors are connected, but from my experience with music over the years, many songs are filled with negative implications especially my beloved Pink Floyd.

Perhaps music needs to be more positive, and that negative implications really does no good without positive solutions.

  • @TheChristopherluke They are not connected, per se, but it's the same band with the addition of Buckingham and Nicks. There was swapping on all sides. It was the popular critique surrounding Rumors at the time.

  • @ctweebee Well, I just really enjoyed their music through out the years, and they still sound good. Great concert they did on Palladia ! I really like that song " Dust "

  • @TheChristopherluke Oh, well, it was gossip anyway. I like your name.

  • @ctweebee thanks for liking my name, which is my conformation name. The two saints I mean. ctweebee is pretty cool too. Is that English, like from England ?

  • @TheChristopherluke How droll, as the English would say. Christina is my conformation name, fyi. Ta!

  • @ctweebee: ctweebee gota mean something ? Come on, don't make me work for it ? So your name is Christina Weebee ? That's gota be english ? lol

  • @TheChristopherluke C.T. Weibel. German, French, Irish, English, Native American (Micmac), Spanish. I'm American Mongrrelll!!!! It means nothing. It's a username. Christina is feminine for Christian. True.

  • @ctweebee : I am the infamous CJ Luke of wikHow, AKA Dana Greco. I am 100 % gumba wop, AKA an Italian. Join me on twitter if you want to waste your time. Peace on Earth !

  • @TheChristopherluke Ha, ha, ha. Thanks.

  • @ctweebee I am going to sing " Dust " Capella right here on Youtube. I just did one Called " When You Are Blocked From WikHow " Ya, I really did get blocked from WikiHow, ha ha ha ha ! ah Ha !!!

  • @TheChristopherluke I'm gonna search it. In a minute.

  • @ctweebee I took it out, cause it needs improvement, and is a hard song for me to sing, but I will load it just for the hec of it.

  • @TheChristopherluke If you can sing "Dust" you must be good--you must be a perfectionist. Peace.

  • One of the most under rated rock tunes of all time!

  • This is one of my favorite early Fleetwood Mac songs!!! Great song!!! Christine Perfect

McVie has always been one of my all time favorite female rock vocalists. This early

lineup of Fleeetwood Mac with the great guitar guitar player and songwriter Peter Green

were at the peak of their powers at this time!!! I have all of these early Fleetwood Mac

albums in my vinyl record collection.Let's not forget "Then Play On." Check out our

    "I Want Yo' Number."

  • Love this song, thanks.

  • This was the first Fleetwood Mac song that I really liked. Played it over and over. Originally I thought it was Bob Welch playing the slick C & W style guitar solos on this track, I remember saying "Damn that guy is good." This really is a sharp guitar tune.

  • @genesisfan3 Bob Welch is playing

  • My fave song on this lp!!!! Also, I'd like to post Penguin on youtube but dont know how!!!

  • YOU don't hear this one every day!

  • This was when these guys were good..

  • One of my fave songs by FM.

  • Ahhhhh...Fleetwood Mac before they went down the dumper with the addition of....

(I don't really need to say it, do I?)

  • @notanotheraccount I like each line up of Fleetwood Mac. They all brought something to the table. Especially Stevie and Lindsey and Billy and Rick.

  • I noticed that on YOUTUBE almost NO one ever tries to do this as a cover song...that suggests it is a totally ORIGINAL song without peer and still exceptional 40 plus years later...

  • One of my all time favorites. Wish I still had the album.

  • yessiree!!!! they had a lot of good stuff way before all thier radio-friendly hits, they actually formed in '66,

  • This was their best album, even though Lindsey Buckingham is an excellent guitarist.

  • This may be the best song they ever recorded - any era. I've always said that Danny Kirwan was the best musician/songwriter they ever had, and this coming from a lifelong Peter Green fan. This song is absolutely perfect. It just can't be improved. This has always been my favorite Mac album.

  • @freakdaddydog I totally agree. This is a Danny Kirwan song. The guy

gets little credit. Check out Station Man and Tell Me All The Things You

Do off the album Kiln House.

  • Thanks for posting. Finally someone posted this!

  • Oh, gosh. Thanks. Was hoping this would be put back up.

  • Big Love

  • Is Bare Trees anyone else favorite FMac album?

  • @karlmoles65 -- "Bare Trees" is definitely a contender.......damn hard to pick favorites with this GREAT band!!

  • @jeffthrow6892 True, you got Kiln House, Rumours, Then Play On, Mystery To Me, so many great albums.

  • @karlmoles65 -- Yes, good choices. I would add the self-titled, '75 album (first one with Buckingham/Nicks), maybe "Tusk", etc. Most people have a favorite period with this group, but I like pretty much all of it, from the early blues based Peter Green stuff, to the early '70's with Bob Welch, to the Buckingham/Nicks stuff! It's all great........

  • @jeffthrow6892 good choices there as well.

  • Wow wow wow wow wowowowowoowowowowoowwowowowowowowowowow

  • thank you :))

  • Miss Nick's is a talent all her own but she was never nor could of ever been a part of this...nuff said

  • thanks Sheledale, I own this album its one of my top 5 on a desert isle

  • All right .Thanks Finally .

  • Thanks for sharing with all us early Mac fans-don't have the cash to purchase them all-but sure would if I had the extra $ to do so-stuff is genius!

  • Not to bash anyone, but the FM i loved from peter green died when Bob Welch left.Just my opinion.I truly love this song.

  • glad someone finally posted this..

  • Christine McVIE HAD AGREAT VOICE AND SHES AMOON CHILD

  • I bought this when it came out but can't remember the year.."71" "72" ? Thanks for the upload

  • remembered this again and your a dear for doing this service to allow a visit. so cool! seems like perfect timing. and hey i dug out my old lyle guitar, next come the strings stashed in the bob for this time too. the old ones still play and tuned pretty fast. always remembered this music.

  • I'm a guitarist and I've been obsessed with this song for years. It's maddening to try to learn it by ear because there is so much going on. No matter how many parts I figured out there is always something new to learn. Almost subliminal at times. What a brilliant band. Thankyou for the upload.

  • i own an original copy on vinyl of everything FM did and i can tell you, they are kool!

  • Great tunes. Thanks for uploading.

  • Thanks , ShelldaleWay, for this!!!!!!!

    Did Danny Kirwan write this?

  • @adoptfromarescue You're welcome. And yes, Danny wrote this one :)

  • you should upload child of mine and home word bound really anything off the first half wold be amazing

  • @lovelaj0149 The entire first side of the album is now uploaded :)

  • @ShelldaleWay yes! thank you I've been looking for ghost and homeword bound for a long time

  • wow wow this song is the best of their best album!! TX!

  • Oh THANK YOU! :-D

  • I'd rather listen to She Who Bleats Like A Sheep than Britney, Lady GAG-ME, Christina, and Courtney any day

  • @SouthwestRanger,

True, but I still happen to think she's a bit overrated as a Fleetwood Mac vocalist, especially considering the fact she isn't even an instrumentalist, like most of the others are and were;)

  • @MsOndine Stevie Nicks? Well she plays piano. Just not on the records or live on stage. How do you think she writes her songs? She doesn't just sing words into thin air. You need an instrument to flesh out your melodies. And don't hate her cuz she's beautiful. She really is quite gifted as a songwriter.

  • @RubHerSoul1.

I don't hate her at all;) I think she's a gifted creator of melodies and lyrics. However it's clear that most of her famous FM compositions were very much worked out and arranged by Lindsey Buckingham. And yes I know she plays some piano outside the stage. But singing together with playing a instrument full time on stage is much more difficult than just singing. By the way, it's possible to write music by just humming a melody. Some have done this quite succestully:)

  • @MsOndine True Lindsey helped her along quite nicely. But he did that for Christine McVie as well. In fact it's his [production and arrangement skills that propelled FM to the stratosphere. Before him, they were a great band that got by on raw talent and decent songwriting. I prefer all phases actually. Particularly Peter green era and I'm not even a big Blues fan.

  • But I don't think it's necessary to use this nice upload as a pro-or-against-Stevie-Nicks-thing. She's not on this song or even in this line-up and gets enough attention everywhere else;)

  • @MsOndine Probably. I was just responding to some hater who brought up Ms. Nicks. Sure she's a little bit lost in her own world and all, but she really is good. You see, I enjoy every incarnation of the mighty Fleetwood Mac. If it helps any, I think Danny Kirwan is vastly underrated, but so is Lindsey Buckingham in many ways. Did I mention I just saw him live 2 weeks ago in a small theater in Boston?

  • @RubHerSoul1.

Agreed, Buckingham is very underrated. I love his fingerpicking guitar style, his composing/arranging talent and his singing too. I own all his solo albums:) Still, I think there is only one Rumours line-up album that's truly great and that's "Rumours". although the first contains Rhiannon and I'm so Afraid. Tusk is too diverse IMO. But I admire Buckingham's new wavy contributions. I also happen to like their latest album', especially because of songs like Come and Murrows.

    .

  • @RubHerSoul1, Yes, I understand you very well:) I like all incarnations too, except for the 'post-Rumours' ones. But Danny Kirwan is underrated on a scale you can't compare with anything else. In every documentary I've ever seen and for instance the M. Fleetwood autobiography, he is barely mentioned, apart from the fact why they fired him. That's really unfair, coming from a band that's so wealthy, to someone who has been homeless for so long, but contributed about half of the songs.

  • @SouthwestRanger Say what?

  • Thanks for the upload. One of FM's best.

  • I Love this song and sound. Thank You!

  • @JeffWerner You're welcome. I love it too! :)

  • Danny Kirwan was the bright shining light of Future Games and Bare Trees. Stunning guitar player/singer/composer/arranger, who immediately made a big impression and turned the band musically into a new direction after he joined the band back in 1968. I wonder how their next album would have sounded if they didn't give him the sack. Criminally ignored by his fellow ex-bandmembers, who eternally seem to feel the need to underplay his importance and talent.

  • @MsOndine I totally agree with you-shame on them-they wouldn't have been there without Green & Kirwan and Welch-they were the percussion section-need the leads for a band-not to put them down but even on some of the old video-Kirwan is playing a solo and they pan every band member but him-outrageous-hope he is doing well-sad the price paid esp. when they throw you under the bus!

  • Bare Trees and KILN HOUSE too!

The Mac had a great deal to offer before Lindsay Buckingham and She Who Bleats Like A Sheep came along, much of it eclipsed by the popularity of its latter incarnation.Thank you so much.

  • this is one great LP.i've enjoyed it for 35 years.this tune is a suttle rocker.Christine Perfect really made this group.

  • For about three years Danny Kirwan was the King of the pop song.
