I only have recently started to watch BSG and I am starting season 4, i love this TV series, i will be sad when I finish season 4. Its just a shame that i never got the chance to watch the series when it was being aired.

(part I) I think that's exactly why BSG is the best show of all time. The went in with the intention of only doing 3 or 4 seasons. They wanted to tell their story and get out. They gave us 4 seasons, plus a few movies, 1 season of Caprica (pretty good as well) and apparently a new spin off is in the works about Adama in the first Cylon war...

Identified as a cylon through the retina. I think that scene was before he realized he was a cylon, cant remember. If it was before he knew, it totally went over my head as a hint during that episode. This one soundtrack combined with this video clip is a perfect rendition. It creates a realistic and emotional feeling of the struggle for the last of only thousands of humans remaining; the emotional identification to "a will to survive" something no other SciFi has done for me ever.

Bear McCreary does all of the music for BattleStar Galactica and also for Caprica, the prequel series. He is also in a Jazz band called 17 Billion Miles of DNA. EPIC stuff....

the timing of this video to the song is amazing. i haven't finished the series, but that moment where the raider makes eye contact with anders HAS to be the most epic moment ever. also, this soundtrack is AWESOME.

Und: Die Auflösung, also die letzte Staffel und vor allem die letzte Episode total gelungen - wer es schon gesehen hat wird mir Recht geben. Vor allem GANZ DER SCHLUSS (x Jahre später) - total genial. Oft sind die letzten Folgen von Serien ja Mist - und hatte hier leider auch schon total bedenken - aber BSG - super!

watch smallville....or the cool Terminator The Sarah Conner Chronicles tv series from fox ( and yes they already canceled that like everything else clean and yet good they had left to offer)..its on hulu while smallville you just go to one of the video streaming sites on the web for recorded stuff

I'm sorry Stuart. I've been a fan of Smallville since season 1, but even I have to admit that it's nowhere in the league of battlestar. Sarah Connor Chronicles had the potential in Season 1, but they screwed it up in Season 2 with all those slow-paced introspective episodes that went nowhere.

They had to bring it to an end in order to preserve the fine quality of the show. Otherwise the show wouldve gotten lost in filler episodes. Its always the best TV shows, stories and movies that in a timely fashion. The trashy TV shows, stories and movies keep trying to drag on with filler episodes just to make a profit out of the dedicated\abused fan-base. Many Companies abuse their dedicated fan-base and destroy the story quality just for the sake of keeping the story going.

Needless to say, I am glad the directors of the BSG TV show gave it a beautiful ending in order to preserve the dignity of the story. This show will definitely never be forgotten, even the Times magazine put it on the top 100 TV show list.

@kyromoto (part II) ...so, embrace the fact they didn't do a 5th season which may or may not have included the following: A "true" musical episode (where cast members break out into song and dance), a clip episode of "remember when...", the show "jumping the shark" including cylon babies with the voice-over of "Joan Rivers", etc...

except...no fleet just less than a hundred people stranded on destiny

it is a good show and the camera angles suggest that people who worked on battle star galactica work on SGU

My favorite song in the series is A Promise to Return. You just get this feeling of traveling. Almost like you're floating along a playful wind to your final destination with increasing excitement because all your hopes and dreams are there. I think it exemplifies the series. I'd probably follow that with Passacaglia. It's like a blissful limbo. But Allergo, Battlestar Sonatica are also really good. Hell, I just love it all, lol

excellent anaology of it, and for sure I think i have close to every song from the series, there are only a select few that I did not like, this music has made an impact on my life and for sure I get that "traveling" feeling from listening to this, some of my top favourites include resurrection hub, baltars sermon (middle part), Razor Main title and of course the others I listed, truly wonderful show, mini series and all :D

Absolutely EVERYONE that I have convinced to ACTUALLY watch the mini-series or the first season has fallen in love with it. It's not your standard Sci-fi. It's better seen as a socio-political-religious drama that "happens" to be in space. You will rarely find a show that has as brilliant characters, character arcs, story arcs, better actors, better developed stories or surprises, or that reach the philosophical depth of this show. Best.

And I should also probably say that the same feelings you get listening to the music are intensified by what is going on in the show, as they go hand-in-hand like no other musical score I have ever heard of or imagined. I mean at one point, the music becomes a critical point in the story
