  • =) just smile..that's what diana does for me!

  • Listen to the whitney houston version of this! You'll have tears in your eyes. Its Whitney her brother & her mother. Its a great version

  • NICE SONG! Sure thing, this is it for us LA FAMILIA!!!!!!!

  • I never knew she sang this song live. SHe is so awesome! Thank you for sharing this amazing gem! She is brilliant!

  • WOW...I was watching the movie Dreamsgirls on tv and came to youtube just for this performance! I was surprised to find, but so happy i did! I really love Diana's live version!

  • WHEN SHE SINGS A SONG IT HER'S, THATS THE MAGIC OF THE GREAT DIANA ROSS!

  • I think Diana choose to sing this song to show that she was above the negative portrayal parallel of Deena and herself. She belted that song out...I love it.

  • Never knew she performed this song! WOWZA! LOVE it!!!!

  • thanks for putting this up.... such an amazing song!!!

  • I love this song with all of my heart and soul.

  • Diana Ross did something very special with this song ,and if you watch it and listen ,I believe that you will agree. The movie and play did use this song ,but it was first sang by Diana many years before the play . And I think they are both very good but Dianas version here is very powerful and touching on a level that I did feel in the film. It is like night and day.

  • I must correct myself the song is from the play Dream Girls and was a score from that play. I must wholeheartedly confess that I like both versions ,and think we can appreciate all the artists .chow My original intent was not to choose one over they other but rather to defend both. however I must be more diligent with regard to facts in the future.Chow.

  • @stanley1963261 u have got to be fucking kidding no it wasnt the whole reason she even sung it was because she wanted to establish the silent connection between her and deena jones the wirters for dream girls WROTE THIS!

  • Are you folks stupid? you can like a song, it's lyrics, it's melody and meaning without liking the production it's from... duh

  • Yes, they are. Very, very stupid. What they really miss is that Diana Ross has always stated that she's never really had any issues with "Dreamgirls" because she knows that it's not her story. It may use her glamour, etc., but, on the whole, the issues w/in the show happened to a lot of girl groups. Still do.

That said, given that they're the kind of people who believe all of the nonsense they read, perhaps it's best to just let them wallow in their own ignorance. It's what they do best.

  • Sing it Boss!! No one can do it like Diana!!

  • I hate to say it, but I have to agree. If she didn't like the musical, so why would you then go and sing songs from it?

  • she did that 2 front. that she liked it because she had gotten bad publicity 4 refusing 4 the play 2 go on. so they told her to sing it so it would look like she liked it but really didnt. read it in a book about her.

  • How? It was written for the musical Dreamgirls, witch opened at the Imperial Theater on Broadway in 1981

  • Yes Sir ,you are correct after checking my facts I stand corrected. I am now confused as to why Diana would sing this song . I apologize for my ignorance of the facts before I put forward my opinion.Forgive .Chow. However I love both versions and all the artist involved equally.Chow...........

  • A beautiful rendition of a beautiful song, performed by an equally beautiful woman...
