  • what really gets me is they sentence him to die, via the electric chair, come on

  • The old fellow was rather blase about the whole "glowing electric man" thing.

  • Dose anyone know where i can get this movie been looking for it for a long time now, but cant seem to get a dvd of it, if so please drop us a pm.

  • This movie is available through Amazon in in box set called Universal Horror : classic movie archive. Right now it's on sale for $16.49. The regular price is $ 19.98.

  • The horror films from Universal from 1930 to 1946 were the best. They will live on and on.

  • That's learn em to pay their doctor bills.

  • Doctor Xtv i got an e mail saying youre responding to my comments but i dont see that in what im reading. elaborate please. In any event < im a HORROR FILM historian and am impressed by what im reading about this underated chiller, a gem from Universal. Ive known many horror greats had corresponded with them & fans who want to discuss classics or grade B gems like this, PRC Monogram you name it. Lets see more feedback. MAN MADE MONSTER one of many forgotton minor classics. TOMK

  • this horror film historian can tell you, MAN MADE MONSTER is great. Atwill & CHANEY superb. leave it to those kingpins UNIVERSAL who gave the world the classic horror films. Atwill is wickedly superb. his eyes. his voice. KARLOFF LUGOSI CHANEY were 3 titans at Universal. this film prior to Wolfman cemented chaney as horror king in 40s. We need more chillers like this. they had class great music themes, voices, scenery chills. thanks Universal. TOMK a man who knows his old horror flicks.

  • I'm currently uploading this film (",)

  • Is this film still in the public domain?

  • i think so!

  • Nice one, I'll upload it! Cheers mate (",)

  • It's not, Universal owns it and unless you can find the out-of-print dvd copy you are s.o.l. at the moment.

  • I saw this when I was 9 years old. It was also the only time I saw it! I would like to see it again! I still like those old Universal movies!

  • thanks for tis excerpt. i haven't seen this movie since the 60s when i watched it on the science fiction theatre which one of the local independent tv stations in los angeles presented every saturday night. it's a shame that independent stations no longer show movies from the 30s, 40s, and 50s as they used to do 50 years ago. i guess those of us who don't have cable or satellite tv, and still rely on rabbit ears don't count for much anymore.

  • I'll be damned if some of that equipment don't look like it came from the Frankenstein movies, lol.

  • Actually it was. Kenneth Strickfadden's equipment was used in a lot of Universal features including Paula the Ape Woman and the Flash Gordon serials with Buster Crabbe. Mel Brooks was allowed to use the equipment for the movie Young Frankenstein.

  • b-project or not, the teaming of Atwill & Chaney jr. is worth a viewing. I love the glowing effect. Reminds me of Karloff from 'The Invisible Ray'.

  • Made on one of the smallest budgets for a movie that year. Still outshines mega-million bombs we have today.

  • Vastly underrated picture. One of Universal's best Horror flicks of the 40's

  • That was the shortest 3:46 ever. Please i have to see more of this 1940 classic.

  • Thanks for posting this gem that set creighton chaney into horror stardom emortality. I would love to see dynamite dan the electrical man from the start if only someone could swing it.

  • Thanks for posting, when will Universal release this on DVD? It's been sitting too long on the self!

  • they released it last oct :P look for the DVD called "Universal Horror Classic Movie Archive". I bought mine from Best Buy but they removed it. Maybe you can try to ask for it. BTW It included with 5 movies from 1940s.

  • They still have it! I ordered it and it's on it's way. It's now under the title of The 'Lon Chaney Jr. collection.' But I was assured 'Man Made Monster' was on it. Thanks for the reply. Have'nt seen the movie since I was a little snot nosed punk. Chaney and Atwill, need I say more! I'll post back when it arrives!

  • Hahaha ok I'm happy for you! :) I hope they will make Universal Horror Classic Movie Archive #2 DVD soon. I so wanna see "Mad Ghoul" with Evelyn Ankers in!!! ^.^ Never see it before!

  • Just arrived, Not what it was! only 3 movies all public domain! I can get them off the internet for free. Best Buy screws me again! They told me MMM was on it.
