People or kids back in the day didn`t take care of comics back in the 40`s cause they were just that comics they were never ment to be a collectable if they did man i think everyone would have had a mint copy then.

It's great she collects and loves comics. Grade is important but if someone wants the issue (because it was the first one they ever bought; or they are going to get it professionally restored then it might be worth more to that individual). The rolled spine is because of how it was read! How do you all grade your comics? I use to use Overstreet but I bet there is a better tool now.

BTW, restoring such a book will only lower its value.
