In a mist like a fire extinguisher, flour is really flammable and could cause explosions. This is a horrible idea and no, you did not invent it, most fire extinguishers are meant to be refilled, and only by a professional with compressed nitrogen gas, and NEVER WITH A TINY LITTLE BIKE VALVE AND HOT GLUE. You just created the opposite of a fire extinguisher.
that can be dangerous because those tank are meant to use once.. Untwisting the valve on and off breaks the special o-ring that keeps the air inside.... Drilling the bottoms makes the cylinder very weak.. i tried it before and it doesn't look pretty when it explodes... Its a very creative idea but there is other ways you can do it without having a risk it explode... :P well me carefull than :P
1-after using the fire extinguisher .. the rubber valve needs to be clean so it can be used again otherwise u'll have air leak .( powder extinguisher) .
2- If u drop it accidently u'll have a rocket spinning around the house.
all fire extinguishers all re-fillable, the type you have ( dry chemical) is charged with nitrogen once discharged, if you were to put anything in it use baking soda as it breaks down causing CO2 (starves the fire of oxygen) and would melt to smother it. Good idea though
You asked me if there is no leak it's still safe. The answer is no! You have damaged the integrity of the shell. If an extinguisher has more than a 16th of inch dent' any rust' burn marks' or is engraved, the extinguisher must be condemned, YOU DRILLED A HOLE IN IT. AS I SAID, IT CAN KILL YOU!
be carefull with flour my man if your extinguisher particalizes the flour to much when it actually hits the fire it may do the reveres (flour / dust can become highly explosive)
not saying its a bad thing what your doing it actually looks pretty cool (although tapping a thread into the base and haveing a brass scre valve would maybe work better) thanks for putting ideas in my head my man
I have worked in the extinguisher bizz for 25 years. The psi you are working with can kill you if the extinguisher blows up. Do you know about hdro-testing? I have seen an extinguisher thar has blown up, THIS IS NO JOKE YOU NEED TO REMOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@jpsguitarguy Put a spanner on the metal bit of the nozzle where it wont hurt the mechanism and then bash the spanner on a wall. Seems harsh but it wont damage the bottle, wall or spanner and the impact opens the nozzle up and then u can just twist it out
YOU ARE A IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First off flour burns, second the cylinder is compromised from you drilled hole and wont hold the recommended 75 to 125 psi of pressure, unless you use a filter a standard air compressor contains moisture that will clump up your "flour" and not allow it to be expelled, and finally the nozzle unscrews from the valve and you pressurize it that way. Carry on my friend it is guys like you that keeps me in a job as a fireman/paramedic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@kidde509 - thats all good and well, but i dont actually use flour... that would be stupid, this video was made a long time ago, i never actually did, second the hold drilled DOES hold the recommended 75 - 125 psi of pressure, although i usually only take it to about 90, 3rd, i use a pump not a compressor and 4 - the nozzle unscrews does it? omg i totally didnt know that thanks heaps, i mean how else would i have got the shrader calve to stay in...?its just easier to pump up 4 me. anything else?
im sorry to burst your bubble but theres already refillable ones lmfao.. they use co2 cartridges.. and there are other ones that you can fill up with a pump.. im loling so hard cause you thought you were the first.. did you really think that they werent refillable? all fire extinguishers are refillable.. you just cant refill all of them ureself but many you can
actually this one isnt designed to do with a pump or normal air compressor, thats the water ones. if i wanted to repressurise this thing i would have to take it to the manufacturer and pay money. this was easier and more effective for me.
yeah its not flour in the fire extinguishers typically its either carbon or water and foam with compressed air. good job though, ill have to try this soon :)
ur right, it doesnt. but it doesnt need to. the rubber from the bike tyer valve is completely airtight and wont fall out. i realise later that i didnt need the glue
heyy, check out my latest air gun videos, its really strong...
also i hav a question, do you have leaks when you only hot glue that into place??? because what I did was I drilled a hole into a metal end cap of a pipe and just forced the shrader valve into there and it has never ever ever leaked... so yeah, check out my videos and subscribe =) ill subscribe to you too if you sub to me
How about paint homie? :)
