they were all funny :P 5:51

  • if any of you think this is racist you know NOTHING of how bad it got in cartoons. They only reason you go after these is by some deranged expectation that cartoons are supposed to be as innocent as baby padas getting baptized. Up yours people, its your kind of criticism that made the Disney corporation more concerned about lawsuits than making good cartoons. You people discourage Lion King, Aladdin, Pinochio, and Sleeping Beauty, leaving the disney corporation to make high school musical 5

  • @butchdeadlift10 There's commentary on the goofy native american cartoon about how it was satire NOT against native americans, but against the stereotypical cowboys vs indians movies that were popular during it's time. Of course once a cartoonist starts treating it like art, people don't view it as such. Like the cartoons of the 90s with adult humor.

  • @sumoni I think part of the problem with racism is that people confuse making fun of a race with the race being identifiable. "I see a black person= Black people are stupid" or some kind of nonsense. I have a sense of humor and wait for the identification to become negative. The Crows from dumbo were the clever characters who had all the answers and aided the hero on his journey, the indians in Peter pan however were being called savages and made fun of by the lost boys....I rant alot, sorry

  • @butchdeadlift10 I get what you mean. Although I won't deny there are negative stereotypes in some of them. Like the ones with black ppl eating watermelon & giant lips. That all had to do with the times unfortunate as that is. Like the disney anti-nazi cartoons or popeye's anti-japanese propaganda. People nowadays don't think about what the previous generations were going through. Ignorance doesn't equal race hate. I'm glad for more diversity, but sometimes it just gets stupid.

  • @sumoni 1) I don't think for all the black racist cartoons I have seen, I have yet to see any off them eat watermelon

    2) whenever i bring up the problems of overreacting I like to remind people of the obvious racism of Peter Pan with indians and the civilization of hippy supermodel pacifists we get in Pochahantus. Any of my navaho freinds will tell you they are both offensive because they deny one common element in both portrails; respect in their humanity. look up the word "primitivism" in art

  • @butchdeadlift10 On youtube Leadbelly - Pick A Bale Of Cotton under the user jivevidz.

I've heard the stuff about pocohontas too. Made me really sad as it's one of my favorite disney movies. I acknowledge what native americans feel about that movie, but I can't fully understand. Just as some people can't understand how blacks or asians could hate the token characters put in other cartoons. It's just that I think, a lack of understanding. Sometimes disney had good intentions, but...you know.

  • @sumoni It is a problem when your character doesn't feel like a character.

example; When writing a white supporting male who is a genius almost any movie would give him appealing flaws or querks to make him more interesting. But when a "token" character applies, the attemps to be admirable without flaws leads to an empty character. I am not sure if it is because writers fear giving a minority character a personality will be offensive or if they think their ethnicity/gender is already a flaw? wtf

  • @butchdeadlift10 I've also read a lot about the studio fatcats, who for example, hijack a character from the writers and go, "Make him black, make him funny. Hip hop is in & kids like funny black ppl." It's disgusting. There's an unspoken knowledge in the cartoon industry that the suits in charge nowadays think kids are stupid. If you look at cartoons during this one's time they knew better. The ways they promoted smoking, family values, religion, and american pride.

  • @sumoni Funny you should mention smoking. Check out on youtube a short called "Goofy; No Smoking". It made my jaw drop

  • @butchdeadlift10 Yeah, it's one of my favorites. I'm surprised disney got away with it seeing as how the cigarette company was booming back then. It doubled my surprise when I rewatched it last year and realized they ran it until the late 90s. Cartoons didn't surrender to the pc-gone-mad-over-protective-parent-brigade until like 2002 or 2003. That's my crazy conspiracy theory.

  • @butchdeadlift10 I also want to add, I'm not sure if understand is the correct word to use. But to clarify it case it came across wrong. When I was younger I didn't find the scene in peter pan offensive as it didn't pertain to me. When I got older I realized that portrayal is offensive. But when I watch Pocohontas I still enjoy it and I can't seem to feel the same way NAs do. Of course when I see some token black character, I feel offended and connect it that way. Sorry I typed so much.

  • @sumoni Don't worry about length, I enjoy the topic. If I had time now I would explain my analysis of dumbo if you care to hear it?

  • @butchdeadlift10 go for it! :)

  • @sumoni well, after hearing so many people complain about how the crows are african american, I decided to analyze the whole movie racially.....you know what I discovered? Dumbo is also a black alogory.

It ain't blatant, any well written movie keeps its metaphors in the distance and focuses on the story, but when I looked at dumbo, I saw a kid born into a cruel world, his kind chained and living terrible laborios lives (song sequence "roustabouts" as a point of interest)......too be continued...

  • @sumoni .....his mother is wrongfully arrested just for defending her child, dumbo's primary antagonists are white clowns exploiting him and making ridicule of him, and THEN its the crows (the carefree, witty, and free AFs) talk circles around a caucasian mouse and then help our hero fly, beating the clowns, and freeing his mom and breaking through the elephant glass ceiling.

Could I sound more insane? Probably. But if you look at the crows as allegory, then watch the whole movie that way

  • @butchdeadlift10 That's not insane at all. I think I recall a few more cartoon movies with characters like the crows. When I try to point that out, someone goes, "That's not the point. It's racist! Why can't the character be more blah blah blah...." They can't see the integrity of the character. All they care is that the cartoon is old, therefore it must be racist. When actually a lot of cartoonists back then were against racism and snuck in their views opposing it.

  • @sumoni I think the REAL solution to racist or sexist characters is to.....well, ignore the identifyier. don't make a big deal about how a black character SHOULD be like and just write a good character. Just write an honest to goodness human being, write a character with his own opions and shortcomings and then make him black, or asian, or hispanic, or female all of the above.

Think back to starttrek TNG, who stuck out more as a strong character; Worf or Geordi laforge?

  • @butchdeadlift10 Exactly! Reminds me of the south park creators talking about Timmy. The network didn't want a character like that. But the creators fought for him, insisting he's not going to be treated different. No character in the show will see him other than just another kid.

I'm not familiar with star trek. I know what Worf looks like....who's the other guy? Which one was stuck out more?

  • @sumoni Worf, but let me explain; Both character were played by african americans

Geordi was the freindly science type who was never embarassed himself and was all in all an upstanding man without anything to complain about....he almost was like furniture on the show; he challenged nothing.

Worf on the otherhand played a mindless warriro who ate meat raw like a wolf. I am sure anybody would find that offensive if he was the only black guy on the show, but because the focused on him as...tbc

  • @sumoni ...as an alien and a warrior. They ignored the fact he was a black actor and focused in on the character himself. they were not afraid of him being offensive, WHICH alowed the writers to experiment, try things out, until they developed a thoughtful proud character with subtle nuances many great moments.

Geordi remained unoffensive and safe and became a sidekick to the android character. Sad really. You try to make a character "nice" and he turns out BLAND

  • @butchdeadlift10 That actually makes me want to check out the series. Just the seasons with Worf of course, lol. It's rare to have a decent convo on youtube, gives me hope for humanity, haha. I'll say good bye now, as I don't want to fill up the vid with off topic comments. Thanks for your insight. I'll check out primitivism in art.

  • who else noticed the unfortunate explorer at 1:24?

  • my that zebra is handsome

  • Is it just me, or were the sound effects/music at 1:00 - 1:02 also used in Crash Bandicoot, in the Great Gate/Native Fortress levels?

  • @youmayforgetme Yes it was used in Crash Bandicoot on those levels that ooh ooh ahh ahh sound. I believe it is a classic sterotypical sound of a native tribe. I have heard it pop up on other cartoons too. I can't find the sound effect anywhere.

  • @youmayforgetme

HOLY SHIT, YEAH IT IS! That was the part I died laughing over. I thought it was really funny. But I think you're onto something there buddy!

  • 2:46 - Is that warthog related to Pumbaa?

  • 2:31 - Is that Hyena related to Ed from "Lion King"?

  • It is too racist. Why are you defending it? Of course it was racist, made by whites in the early 50s. You think people werent all racist then? What part of enslaving the natives and having them carry everything isnt racist?! That said, I still enjoyed it. Because I dont care, but it is racist.

  • @ataraxic89 You enjoy a racist cartoon because you don't care that it's racist but you still bitch about it being racist? Do you even listen to yourself?

  • It is racist, I just dont care. My comment was not bitching that its racists, moron, I was bitching that so many people are trying to make themselves feel better and claim its not racist so they dont have to accept their own racism.

  • LoL funniest episode I have seen.

  • Five people never had a childhood.

  • Haven't seen the uncensored version of this cartoon in a long while. Saw this cartoon and many others that had whole sections edited out and voices dubbed over that did not need to be edited in the first place.

  • lmao at the photo of lula

  • Everyone else noticed that Goofy's life insurance was cancelled and the photo? :3

  • I suppose all things like this try to play the racist game. Honestly people, it's the same thing they do with white people. It's Equality in making fun of everyone. Deal with it. Besides, they ask me what race I am I usually write "Human" on all those papers.

  • JESUS! LOL'd t 3:05!!! XDDDD

  • perhaps you are right, and i apologize. It was very wrong of me to start an argument; I was having a bad day; but that's still not an excuse. You are not racist. And believe me, I despise admitting that I'm wrong.

  • @Bobassa0903 Id say you have a God complex and you certainly did not understand what what I was saying. In short what's good for the goose is good for the gander. And had you read another persons comment you would see where racism lies. Imnot racist. I hate assholes and FUCKtards who think they can get away with one thing and when someone else does it they have a shitfit about it. And thats for EVERYONE hispanics whites muslims asians blacks etc.

  • @orton0384 Muslim is a religion not a race

  • its racist and sadly true

  • I don't care how law abiding you are, if I'm being chased by a pissed off 3 ton rhino the last thing on my mind is a hunting permit.

  • @Judo593 Lol !

  • Did anyone else notice the first time they went across the river, one of the dots didn't make it across 1:21

  • @Malcis2401 lol narrator also said "crocodile infested waters" So one of em got eaten

  • oh i remember having this on VHS when i was little... disney is awsome !

  • Goofy is black with a pale face

  • 2:42 Pumbaa!? my you looked skinny back then!

  • LOVE LULA? LOL XD 5:50

  • Thank god for the internet. I have great memories of this one. :D

  • Goofy's inner monologue is Sideshow Bob?

  • Lmao the 1 guy gets eaten in da river

  • tell me one simgle thing that was racist in this video. one fucking thing

  • Come on everyone are you kidding?

I bet you NEVER talk shit about anyone, or say mean comments behind someones back

If you think doing that to a certain race makes it racist, you're racist.

It's a human thing not a race thing, everyone has flaws and comedy makes fun of sometimes grim situations.

  • 1:24 one guy drowns :/

  • @hazu007 totally noticed that too

  • @hazu007 no the crocodile eats him :P

  • @peaceandquiet4u How sad :(

  • @hazu007 I think he got eaten

  • @LOVEBIRDABLE678 Thats really sad :(

  • @hazu007 or was eaten by a crocodile

  • @smidgedk Same same ;)

  • @hazu007 way to go disney, rare deaths in the cartoon -_-

  • It is refreshing to see videos from a time when there wasn't censorship.

  • @spencexxx what the heck are you talkin about africans ARE black lol

  • @spencexxx so what.. the chracter is white.. why does thr colour of the skin should matter?? it's just per the adaption to their natural habbitat...

  • @spencexxx and what you expect african peaple to be white? its for children. if you put a white african they wont understand and with one way or an other Disney aint racist. grow up please

  • @spencexxx are you serious? They're african! No offense, because apparently it mioght be to you, but most peopl i africa (at least the section I believe they are in) are not white. You probably just wanted to appear impressive, having a strong opinion and all that, and wrote this down. Perhaps your use of the word black, rather than african american offended some people. So good job, you've become the very thing you insult. It's a matter of opinion, dude.

  • @Bobassa0903 I'm sorry but ya know what? BLACK people call white people WHITE people not Americans or Italian Americans or Polish Americans so any BLACK person who has an issue with the word BLACK can go fuck themselves unless theyre using the same common courtesy for white people or any other race.

  • @orton0384 you speak of common courtesy and yet have the balls to say fuck on a YOUTUBE comment AND insist every black person in the world is as racist as you, through your comment, have proven to be? for shame. for shame. I call you coward! I say you are a hater of different races, or at least somebody who so deperately needs positive reviews so much, they attempt to appear impressive in front of their peers. You are no better than the person you defend, nor than the act of hatred you work at!

  • @Bobassa0903 So get off your fucking horse dick and learn to fucking read. I said any other race in my comment dick so its for ALL people not just whites. But apparently you only read what you WANT to read.

  • @Bobassa0903 @jethro23451 Some day...perhaps soon, perhaps later, sarcasm will reach the darkest depths of Africa and you'll feel very silly.

  • @spencexxx Someday, sarcasm may be gone. However, since it's still here, I shall assume your un-toned youtube reply is sarcasm, and not call you a rude name. Also, the darkest depths of africa? really?

  • @spencexxx So is Goofy, you idiot! Look closely before you start talking. Btw, I'm African and find this hilarious.

  • Goofy has no ears! XD

  • i had tape of this when i was a kid. i used to love it when that rhino charged :D

  • 2:32 one word DRUNK

  • @MrT808T or in other words, ON DRUGS!!!

  • if only pc people would grow a spine instead of ripping the good honest NONRACIST people's spine just for enjoying American history

  • the hiena was the funniest

  • "It was either him or me .. it was me !"

Thats what i call humor =)

  • I think the sound at 1:57 was reused from Dumbo when Casey Jr. was starting.

  • pause it at 5:52 exactly haha - Love Jula =D?

  • AYE AYE AAAAAAAAAAA

  • "Ah, the African sunrise."

    NAAAAAAA SIMBENYAAAA - ....too soon?

  • suddenly we reached the interior :D..

  • 3:48 What's this tune?

  • As Jimbo of South Park would say "My God it's coming right for us!"

  • goofy some great stuff

  • this cartoon was made almost 60 years ago you cant judge it with todays standards of political correctness

  • Though I do see a biiit of racism in this one, I'm smart enough to realize that this cartoon was made in a different society than today. People, this wasn't racist back then, this was normal! You really can't blame them.

  • @Racization just like mark twains books. they are often scoffed at for being racist. well those books were written in the late 1800s of course they are going to sound that way!

  • This is a frickin cartoon people get your politically correct crap out of everyone's face. No one cares about it. Leave the rest of the world alone idiots.

  • lovin this

  • I thought it was funny. I saw no racism in this one. I see a lot of nature shows where locals help hunters

  • 1:23 anyone else notice that a spot disperses in the water?

  • @Bikutolu LOL yea a croc probably got him

  • It was either him...or me.

    ...

    It was me.

  • ya gotta figure to, this was made in the 1950's. SO LEARN YER HISTORY.

  • Wtf is racist about it?

That they made Goofy, the white guy, look like an idiot?

It's just a cartoon, pull the hot potato out of your *ss, jeez!

  • check out the scene at 1:36 and tell me what do u see

  • I see locals helping out the foreign explorers, like the sherpa's on the Himalaya do untill to this very day.

Or like members of Amazon tribes who help you with your voyage through the jungle for a fair price.

I also see that the expedition leader is being spared so he can concentrate on his important work.

Like an escort for a president, or the pope in his pope mobile.

I bet if they made those 2 carriers another collor, no one would care.

And again, it's just a cartoon.

  • @DanteWhite i see three goofy's.....two of them wearing hats that are stuck on the stick that is carrying the other goofy sitting on an arm chair and looking at a map

  • @DanteWhite Its called slavery fucking idiot, i dont think word slave has any connetion with racism.

  • @DaKluwn ohhh so now im an idiot, atleast im not the one saying slavery and racism has no connection as if racism wasn't the prime reason for the justification of slavery throughout history like when the egyptians enslaved the hebrews and the whites enslaved the blacks because they thought they were superior(and that isnt racism??) gee i guess i must be pretty stupid -__-

  • @DanteWhite You sure are...

  • @AnubisEvalyna Uuuh, I wouldn't really call him a white guy. :P

  • @AnubisEvalyna it's racist because it shows the image Africa had in the western world. (the dark continent) where the africans only role was to assist the big withe hunter. Some of the africans wear parts of European cloathing(Europeans used to say they mimic us like monkeys). the unknown world was always used with the sentence Africa has no history before Europe "discovered" it. dark and foreboding= barbaric no civilization.

  • @glamedrehl

I can see what you mean.

But this cartoon was made in America, so it has nothing to do with what retarted old Europeans thought of Africa.

And assisting travelers is still done today.

Like the Sherpa's that haul your crap to the top of the mountain for you.

It's not racist, they simply are the best men on the job.

Don't get me wrong, I hate racism too.

Be asured, every smart person on this planet knows we're all from Africa.

Only retards are racist out of stupidity.

  • @Ratchet788: Yeah me too I laughed so hard that snot flew right out of my nose, and that doesn't happen too often. XD They say that laughing is cogntanious (sp?). I see now that it sure is XD

  • XDD And believe me they can have it XDDD ohh, the punchline is awesome.

  • A diplama in pig latin 5:49

  • lmao@the laughing hyena

  • AND BELIEVE ME THEY CAN HAVE IT lol

  • 5:35 Love, Lula, Goofy, you lucky, dirty old dog.

  • this "GREAT" cartoon there isn't in italian language?

  • there should be, google it.

  • AH AH AH!!! Hyena at 2:31 is fun!

  • I like this one, because it's not racist or Sterotypical like most cartoons that involve africa from back in the day :)

  • It's Kurt Cobain at 5:35 !! :D :D

  • Wow, thats totally immature and distasteful. Suicide isn't funy. (Saiphedias)

  • Know what ? It's better to burn out than to fade away...

  • Life insurance cancelled, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A tick bird? That explains the ticking sound at 4:43...Get it?

  • laughing hyena

    LOL

  • I dropped out of chair at 2:29-2:43! Hahahahaahaha!! huhahahahha! huh?? Hahahahahahaaaa! plush! hahahablublublublu.... ROFL!

  • hehe i put a thumb up for you man you right was awesome haha:D

  • lol did a guy get munched by a croc @ 1:25 ?

  • LMFAO

  • @schwarzfalk :Yes I saw it too hahahahaha

  • Yea lol

  • if you notice at 1:24 one guy disapeers

  • lol "crocodile infested waters"

  • evergreen cartoons...

  • I tried to see how long I could go without laughing... I almost cracked when the Goofy character pulled the "brake" and caused a domino effect of disaster. :D

but the laughing hyena broke me. :]

  • This cartoon and the other classic Disney cartoons and movies > Hanna Montana, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, the High School Musical trilogy, and the other crappy shows that they have on the Disney Channel today

  • agreed.

Where did it all go wrong....

  • @ultimategamer1457 please dont remind me of that ewwwww im sick of seeing THEM mickey was and is and ITS gonaa be a classic forever liked by many people except who never have seen cartoons like this is a complet retard

  • I think the africa island looks like the head of a rhinoceros

  • lol, What's the debate about racism over?

Literally no African people depicted in this cartoon. Can't people just enjoy things for what they are?

  • yeah anyway

  • is it just me or does the sound at 2.00 sound like the train sound in dumbo at the beginning?

  • Will anyone who has their panties in a bunch over the whole "rascism" thing PLEASE COOL OFF??!!

Jeeeminyyyy...it's JUST A CARTOON!! Cartoons, as everyone knows, exaggerates things for comedy, not truth. LIGHTEN UP! It's people who are looking for racsist comments/jokes/innuendo who are the most racsist, if you ask me.

    Lord sakes!
