I just hate it when people are always saying how evil cortes was. Obviously the aztecs had a lot of haters. In fact the main force that defeated them were neighboring tribes. in Tenochtitlan 2 conquistadors tried to stop a saracrifice and a fight broke out and 2 conquistadors died then the aztecs realized they were not gods and chased them out of Tenochtitlan and cortes lost 3/4 of their men so they used the tlaxlan peope so they conquerd them.
The aztec's could have held their own if they had not trusted the spanish, and been immune to smallpox. The conquistadors did very little of the work, small pox was the real killer.

Spaniards have very little arabian blood (estimated at 4 or 5 % mostly in the very south of Spain). This is because the Moors (Berbers) that invaded Spain where actually caucasian at the time. Only slightly darker than southern Europeans or just as light. The Berbers that invaded Spain had not mixed very much with the arab invaders at the time (in fact you could still see some white Berbers today, look them up).

Spanish won because:
- Aztecs had envious enemies around them, other native nations like the tlaxcaltecas.
- Spanish people brought new disseases.
- Aztecs had stupid ideas about religion ( well, spaniards were no better about this hehe ).
- Aztecs were less coward about death, so they didn´t use a steel armor.
- They were more primitive in terms of war technology.

I just hate it when people are always saying how evil cortes was. Obviously the aztecs had a lot of haters. In fact the main force that defeated them were neighboring tribes. The "peaceful" aztecs actually had a war season and would sacrifice the prisoners by ripping their heart out while they were alive. And now we have to feel sorry for the poor aztecs. Great empires fall. Get over it.

SORRY just for a couple of things:
1)Spanish brought race separation so now Mexican personality is more individualist than team participant.
2)They also brought christianity, what was almost as barbaric as ripping hearths out, if you dont believe me, read about the spanish inquisition. Poor people cannot release themselves yet from cristian fanatism.

ahh actually the Spanish won a lot of battles with native help, i don't support the Spanish but there is one gerneral who took down a empire of 10,000 soliders with only a few hundred men, most of the spanish fighting was through fear, because the natives (in south america) haven't really seen horses, even from North America since most of the Americas were divided through distance and different climates

Those cumbersome firearms as you say, where actually quite useful at scaring the enemy and destroying their morale and formations. Also, " La Noche Triste" was an anomaly in the otherwise complete slaughter of the aztecs and other indians.

Haha, you make me laugh. Weaponry pretty much equal to the Spanish? The aztecs used clubs lined with fragile rocks (obsidian) and the Spaniards had metal swords, spears and axes that were practically unbreakable. "never won a single battle against the the aztecs" ? that's not true. If they could win a battle against the Incas (which out numbered them 10 to 1)in open field then they could win a battle against the aztecs.

Chronicles state that the macuahitl, the aztec obsidian sword, could cut a horse's head in one swing. Also, obsidian is sharper than steel, but it looses its edge quicker.

There is absolutely no way that you can cut a horse's head in one swing. The chronicles also state that Jesus walked on water... Even with an extremely well crafted and sharp huge steel axe it would take a man of extraordinary strength to do it. (and the horse shall not be standing).
Ston weapons can be, indeed, very sharp but that statement is just ridiculous.

Then the Spanish came in and conqured the aztecs in return, thats just the flow of civilization. Looki the aztecs never attacked the spanish until the siege of tenochtitlan. They believed that cortez was quetzalcoatl who was a aztec god who was banished from mesoamerica. They gave the spanish gold and jade. Cortez was actually on good terms with Moctezuma II but when he went to the coast to see to the construction of boats to go back home his captain accidently shot Moctuzuma II. The other aztecs in tenochtitlan then rebelled against the conquistors and were killed. to be continued

2 build a huge army and build a grand carrak which is recruitable from the new dock
3 sail off with youre men west the aztecs have 5 full armies
4 if you want to see the new world early click ` then type toggle_fow you can see armies settlements and its to all factions to go there

in Tenochtitlan 2 conquistadors tried to stop a saracrifice and a fight broke out and 2 conquistadors died then the aztecs realized they were not gods and chased them out of Tenochtitlan and cortes lost 3/4 of their men so they used the tlaxlan peope so they conquerd them.

The aztec's could have held their own if they had not trusted the spanish, and been immune to smallpox. The conquistadors did very little of the work, small pox was the real killer.

Spaniards have very little arabian blood (estimated at 4 or 5 % mostly in the very south of Spain). This is because the Moors (Berbers) that invaded Spain where actually caucasian at the time. Only slightly darker than southern Europeans or just as light. The Berbers that invaded Spain had not mixed very much with the arab invaders at the time (in fact you could still see some white Berbers today, look them up).
