To everyone with fishtanks: there arent many species which are poisonous.

unless i was on a strange tropical island or in an area known to have dangerous ones, i would feel pretty safe around these things. For example, Australia has (from memory) a dozen or so species and none are poisonous.

They also like to kill each other.

Just bought some live rock in the UK and low and behold about 2 months later I have a cone snail! he's only about 7mm in length, with black and white markings on the shell.

Am amazed to see it in my nano reef, good job before I put my hands in again, I turned for my tongs but he's dissapeared efore I could get him out, I'll be watching for him!!.

Not a good idea. I collected these creatures. To see them in action will make you think twice about having them as pets. Their venom is much more potent than any land snake which includes the Russell viper and Cobra. Supposedly a Marine found one and put his ear to it to listen and was zapped and died several hours later

yeah - think he was a brit - it made the news over here. he posed for a photo with it on his shoulder, the snail injected direcly into his jugujar vein and he died almost instantly
