I'd rather wait to see what the 'solid evidence' the police have. If they have e-mails where Heene talks about "Scaring the public with his kid in a balloon" then it's case closed.

2. The fact that the father has made no attempt to defend himself except to deny the allegations without attempting to debunk any of the support behind the allegations.

Charges are well deserved. A hoax is one thing but this is way over the line.
1. They used up a lot of tax payer's money
2. They effectively diverted an entire nation's attention for 4 whole days.
If you're not firm with these over-the-top attention seekers, then you're sending the message that their actions are acceptable.
