  • i like how this turns people into these big dumbfounded cats and dogs pawing at the screen like they were trying to get at some vital piece of meat scraps

  • easy!

  • In Minority Report Anderton uses a glove and he is not actually touching the screen. The screen in the movie is also curved. However, the hand gestures are similar to that of the movie, as is the fact that the screen is transparent.

  • Very nice, i need this type of interface.

  • People will just need getting some used to with this thing, but once they do, this'll change way we interact completely. Remember the Wii console and how it brought a new method of gestural interaction. Who would have thought people would get used to it and it'll be so popular...?

  • Multi-Touch provides such a great deal of control over your data. The ability for such a large group of people to use it is phenomenal! But there is a great deal of complexity. There has to be a very adaptive and scalable user-interface system setup to provide that control in an intuitive and easy to use way. You can see all my Multi-Touch concept videos at my channel: thenewtouch

  • Let's talk about practical applications of this technology.. Porn. Nothing that requires two hands to navigate is ever going to "penetrate" the consumer market.

  • I agree

  • That was my thought as well, while it looks great, it must have practical application, which is what it lacks at the moment. I think Apple have, at least for now, been quite savvy with the multi-touch finger pad on their Macbooks. Only need one hand.

  • Just thing of the possibilities. Interactive porn. ;)

  • that is SO AWESOME I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE FUTURE :)

  • we're already there

  • Wow very good!!!

  • haha guys the futures here....i cant wait

  • WOW..it looks like minority report.i can imagine the future right now. cant wait to have one in the future

  • i want one!!!!!

for one thing, has anyone actually disassembled their keyboard and gotten a look at what's lurking and evolving under the caplok and spacebar?

  • Under each key a rubber "spring", below that two plastic sheets with conductive paths separated by a third plastic sheet.

    Rather boring but really effective.

  • we're actually beginning to evolve ... soon we will be ruled by humanlike robots....

    No i am just kidding...

  • Let's the robotards (narutards?) rule the world!

  • i guess the COMPANY should give all the money that they EARNED to everyone else other than spending their money to better our technology. after all it is a electronic company not people who cure Alzheimers

  • just like the tv, radio, car and light bulbs. yes they were just pointless wastes of money. and I like wasting my money :)

  • me too

  • How about beaing able to see the news on the bathroom while you shave, or having details and directions on your cars windshield. Imagine a doctor doing heart surgery through this monitor. I think its great!

  • Why would you want a screen that is rotated at 48 degrees and you can see right thru it?

  • more jobs for the window washers !

  • we aren't going to see this in stores, ever, but we will the the tech behind it at work.

thats what this stuff is for, get people excited and investing in the technology.

  • watch?v=f6BtPuxMNng

  • you could also do this on a screen of mist.

  • wow.. imagine watching porn on that screen.. LMFAO jk jk.. but thats a really cool screen. I bet it costs a billion dollars.

  • ohh u will have to clein it every day

  • that one guy looks bored

  • god , i want be rich yo buy me one of those, send me good vibes

  • There is no practical use for this other than visual stimulation. For it to become inexpensive to create, you must spend a huge amount to come up with technology to make it inexpensive. instead, we can use that money to stabilize the economy.

  • COOOOOOOOOL!

There's a huge debate about spending our time and money on other more important things, but this is still pretty sweet. xD

  • more flashy, pointless concept technology.

"OOOH I can't wait to use my computer while I'm standing! I can't wait to leave finger prints all over the screen! I thought surfing the web and viewing photos was fun, but now that I can rotate them, while I'm standing, I want to jizz all over myself!!!!"

  • lol, for me its right up with the dancing mp3 player, i cant wait, it even makes me forget what happened to the electric car...

  • I have to agree with this.

  • i saw tom cruise inside...

  • THank God for the Asian ppl!!!

  • It's like the HP commercials!

  • Mas sobre ciencia, visita:

    ciencia-hoy en blogspot

  • its an april fools joke! i got it.

  • eu quero um!!

  • wow... not. its just a big iphone.

  • who needs it, this is technology that has become mere self-purpose, its not the future, its one superfluous device we might waste time and money on in the future..

  • That's what they said when the Television came out....

  • lol! not really though, they still had good expectations and illusions about it, and im tempted to agree with those who say television was and is a cultural catastrophe, also for this minority thingy here (sighting data aso.) the normal mouse interface is simply way superior

  • fag, It's because of you the certain countries STAY as third world countries

  • lol what? yeah these people are poor, starving and getting killed because we dont consume enough superfluous technology, it has nothing to do with the mass of lazy pampered self-indulgent herd-people in the western countries who cant even muster the minimum of political initiative to keep their own governments and corporations from exploiting them let alone make them help..

  • WEE!!!!

  • WEE!!!!

  • didnt they already have those on star trek?

  • wow, because resizing and rotating windows is so... well.... cool!..... right?

  • I don't mind using my hands instead of a mouse, but for crying out loud, if they replace typing skills for text to speach, then it will cripple another form of affective communication.

  • 我是乡坝头来的,搞不懂。请问这是什么?

  • downloading porn is gona be alot more "hands on"

    sorry i couldnt resist

  • that's good. well played.

  • lol so true

  • Very interesting... However, companies always have the technology ready years in advance. They are just waiting for us, consumers, to buy and deplete resources of all their current gadgets so they can start selling the "new" technology.

  • cool

  • Anybody knows how to get more information in to the internet about that scrreen? :)

  • Looks neat, but, without voice recog. it would be a waste. Texting sux.

  • lol i can't believe people are giving this such crap, its just an idea.... why does it matter what they are doing?

  • hmmm...cool concept. but definitely not feasible as of yet. I think an algorithm to differentiate different gestures is needed. A guy in the video was trying to flip a page but the window moved too. so yeah.

We're getting there. but just not enough yet.

  • Dude i hope a computer is like this !!

  • Buy an iPod Touch / iPhone... it's getting there.

The first one like this will probably be a touch Macbook.

  • Thanks man =)

  • god can they stop showing the stupid rotate an image and resize crap over and over..

we know.. its easy to do..

now make some actual interface that works doing more advanced technology and people might care

  • @nukepuppy its easy to do - no it's not. But I agree. 2 years later and not one pratical non gimmick application yet

  • thats pretty swift,

  • If that interface comes to the mainstream market someone will write a "virtual boobs" application, mark my word...

  • Nah. Boobs the world over would revolt for lack of attention. A lynch mob would chase the application's writer down.

  • that looks cool i wanna play with that over and over

  • omg i saw something like this on the colbert report... it was this guys thing for the primaries

  • meh...

  • The only this wall type of technology will truly work, is through limited interaction. As this is meant to be on a wall or upright, it not a practical substitute for your everyday PC. But if it were in a mall/subway station/

info booth/your bathroom or used in a way where the interaction time would be reasonably short.

A real substitute for the pc would be an interface on two levels. You interact with flat surface, while the images are projected on the wall.

No probs for eyes and arms.

  • You wanna bet, that this is exacty what monitors we have in our homes will evolve! The next step is controling screen with your eyes, and the third and last step would be to control it with your mind!

  • what if you had a coffee table and its surface was one of these screens?

  • Haven't you heard of Microsoft Surface?

  • That Microsoft Surface is an idiotic idea. Why would you want to compute on your coffee table's surface, where you actually, you know keep things. "Hey Jerry, can you move your pint I have to click on that fucking window"

  • Hmm... Dunno. I played around with surface and really liked it. I hope they can get its price down to two grand or so.

  • they have this already.

  • these people aren't really working, they're enjoying themselves

  • i didnt disturbed u

  • HOLY SHIT!!!

  • oh no my atrophied arms will get tired, better stick with the mouse then I suppose

  • It looks like they are going to have some BIG Trouble with Apple for using their Cover flow technology.

  • Apple bought all those ideas anyway.

  • as if you would want to hold your hands out in front of you all day

  • exactly

  • looks like someone missed the point

  • meaning, the scale of these technology isn't the focal point..

  • agreed

  • I actually tried that thing at CeBIT and wasn't impressed at all, especially how tired you get just after 3 minutes of using it

  • wow, Im sooooo impressed! starving children being fed and curing diseases be damned, I want a big community touch screen/germ distribution network!

  • This makes me I think back to when Minority Report came out, and all the tech trolls that quickly denounced the technology in it as impossible and pointless.

  • my ass is pooping

  • I lived in Hannover for like 8 months last year. Just missed CeBIT2007

  • whats the point... using a mouse is quicker :P

  • More space, more room, more info, quicker view of info, great design and the best part, you could probably do this with porn.

  • Eww... Then you gonna stain your monitor :P

  • its cooler.

  • Jesus H fucking Christ, let's not post links like this anymore, eh? you made me shit my fresh undies.

  • Just like in the movie the Matrix

  • someone punch Carson Daly for me!

  • OMG

  • Early prediction: This will not be compatible with Windows Vista

  • dam thats kool. i wish i had that in my room. minority report was a good movie.

  • I love the people just spinning the windows. That's what I'd do. xD

  • Yup, almost every sci fi comes to reality. That can be scary... Armagedon!

  • All that's missing is Tom Cruise. No wait, he's been missing for a while.

  • He is hiding in the closet.

  • "You're," not "your." And the point is, you're the faggot.

  • You could have done that with class. Then you just sunk right down and nestled in with him.

  • Yep, it's all fun until your arms get tired. What might work is a small angled pad near the back of one's keyboard that maps finger swipes to the screen. Then I can switch between typing and swiping very smoothly.

  • God I would hate to wave my hands around all day at the computer. I'm not saying the mouse is perfect, but is seriously a lot easier than this. Pure technoporn, at least for non digital-forensic-analysts.

  • i am jealous

minority report is an awesome movie and i've always wanted to do this

  • If you live 5 - 10 more years, you will have your chance. That's the amount of time these things normally take to reach the mass market. Especially at these fairs where they are promoting a lot of concept designs.

  • IF they reach mass market. as cool as this is, theres little if any use for it to the general public.

  • The missing link in porns ever marching progress...

After this comes the special gloves...

    Then the VR

  • Even with this interface, your computer will be packed with viruses and mallware.

  • and you don't need them fancy gloves lal

  • alot more harder than the one in the movie, i bet tom cruise didnt even have to touch the glass

  • the one in the movie MINORITY REPORT wasn't a live working touchscreen per se, it was envisioned and created by the art department to appear fully functional on film.

  • no he has OTVII Jedi Powers... he doesn't really "touch" anything. except for that chick in Jerry Maguire.

  • I think I just came :)

  • bout time!

  • Finally, a high quality option!

That's so cool, I want one of those.

  • Got this on my iPhone. :P

    Cool, yes.

  • Your iPhone is a very large sheet of glass?

Wonder how you use it as a phone then.

  • more like Philip K. Dick is psychic

  • spielberg is psychic!

  • cool, i want to use it.. looks like fun.

  • rick roll..dammit!!

  • pretty awesome

  • minority report =)

  • Awesome

  • Which company created this amazing thing?

  • I had to type this in because i exceeded the amount of comments i can make, adowtinina. This is ridiculous and yeah this vid is pretty cool.

  • sooo cool

  • nice...how much
