I love your videos, really educative. And this time the music is VERY ( guitar tunes)nice, relaxing...it matches the objective: teaching. THANKS A LOT !
My accent does not place emphasis on the "r" in some words. Some speakers have accents where they "roll" the "r". All I can teach is my own accent which is a neutral British accent. As I have lived in many places during my life I have what is known as a "cosmopolitan accent".
My advice is to pronounce as it comes naturally to you. There is nothing wrong with having a Swedish accent or a French or German one when speaking English, as long as your message is understood.
The () means that some people pronounce these sounds, some people don't. If you don't hear the sound on the video, it means that I am one of the people who don't pronounce them. The (r) means that you can pronounce it if you want to.
Hi Richard, I`m sorry but there is misprinting in the transcription of bathroom. It might be [ˈbɑːθˌruːm -ˌrʊm] or /ˈbæθ-/ but not [rʌm]

Hi teacher,
Why do you not pronounce the "r"?, it's ok or it's best if I pronounce?
