  • THanks for posting!

  • Gloria Swanson - is the reason they invented the movie camera - most enjoyable slide show with excellent music beffiting her status in movie history. Thank you for posting this.

  • Still no match... I just distinguish two tunes, both very mid-20th century American Orchestra. Both very well executed. You have such a good taste.

  • Thank you for your good work! I listened to the songs you've listed as soundtrack (answering a post) but they don't match the ones on your video. Are you sure you gave us the right ones?!

  • @crescente845 You are correct. The music listed was from the original Gloria Swanson video. This video is a re-make with a slightly different soundtrack. Music list should read (in order) Vanessa Mae 'Because', Brahams Cello Concerto Sonata in E Minor, Edith Lorand and her Orchestra playing 'Destiny'. ending with David Lanz's 'Heartsounds.

  • I enjoyed your video!

    -------Ellen

  • @tamerswan The soundtrack consists of three edited pieces of music. 'Brahams Cello Sonata in E Minor', 'Destiny' played by Edith Lorand and her Orchestra, and 'Heartsounds' played by David Lanz. There are EIGHT more Gloria Swanson tributes on my Channel if you would like to see more.

  • Great video! Gloria Swanson was so beautiful. Thank You for posting.

  • Excellent job. Technically and musically. Gloria Swanson was uniquely beautiful. Your music choice could not have been better. Be proud of your work. Thank you.

  • Great set of images of the most fabulous star of them all

  • Fantastic clip tks so much for share. Viva Gloria !!!!

  • Gloria Swanson was the brightest star on the silver screen, adored by millions in the U.S., in France, and the rest of the world. To me, she was the first screen legend. Thanks for this wonderful tribute, with the fine musical background.

  • Nice harmony between the images and the music. The flush of color at the end was a risk, but effective.

    Well done.

  • I love old style stars! the looked fantastic even when going to the bathroom!none of that ' i want to be normal 'stuff you get today.

  • She was beautiful! She took so much pride in her acting and her overall inside as well as outside beauty. I loved every one of her movies. She could never be duplicated, she was and is indeed a legend.

  • She was a Lady, not like the pigs the media hire for decades now.

    RIP dear Gloia.

  • Thank you a lot for this tribute Baz. Gloria Swanson was amazing and just breathtaking, I adore her. As always, your work is priceless.

  • Thank you Irina. There will be more Gloria Swanson coming to 'Movie Legends' in the future. BAZ

  • gloria swanson, the likes of we will never see again. thee goddess...todays actresses are a pale imitation of starlets from the 30s and 40s. its all botox and implants today.

  • Very glamourous! I especially liked the photo of her onboard the boat with doggie as pilot.

  • Gloria is a beauty!!!

  • Gracias,

    thankyou,hermosa,beatyfull,...simplemente la mejor,simply the best.

  • She smolders, sultry and feline, Today's leading ladies cannot hold a torch to the queen of the silent era. Viva Gloria !

  • Gloria Swanson, even to her last days, was a goddess.

    Irreplaceable!

  • Final photo must have been a reverse. Beauty mark was on the other side of her chin.

  • She is the single most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on. Oh, if only I could go back in time and at least have a chance of being in her presence!

I like the photo of her with the other main characters of Sunset Boulevard. Nancy Olson smiling up at her...it's funny, since the two women weren't in a single scene together.

  • She had a face that Klimt might have painted - very exotic. The antithesis of Mary Pickford's screen persona.

    Thanks for the images

  • Thank you. For more Ms Swanson check out 'Movie Legends - Gloria Swanson (Reprise)'.

  • This is a wonderful selection of images of Gloria Swanson set to a lovely track - well done!

  • WOW! A lot of style...

  • i wonder how much money she made in those days for a film

  • I just re-read her autobiography, SWANSON ON SWANSON, and I highly recommend it! Brilliant lady, brilliant wit. In terms of $, she made $1,000 a day. In re Kennedy affair: Hmmm, dumbest thing she ever did; he broke up her marriage, "re-did" her corporation and stole millions from her. She never accused him of stealing it, but heck, ain't it obvious?! Gorgeous job, Basil: Your video tributes to Hollywood are the classiest and the BEST on YouTube!

  • Hi Baz, Captivating beauty, multiple oscar nominations and a smoldering screen presence established Gloria as the archetype of Hollywood Stardom. Her haunting portrayal of silent film star Norma Desmond in "Sunset Boulevard" secured her legacy as a cinematic legend. Fondly, Hedda

  • They had FACES!!

  • She had a very hard life. Several marriags from what I am told. I have never researched her , only heard tales of her life.
