I tried a lot of times initially but it did not work.I was about to give up but gave it a try for the last time and it seems to work.Maybe windows movie maker remembers the profiles and somehow fails to load a new one.The best option would be to logoff/logon or reboot after a new profile has been created, hope this helps !
i get the lossless audio part but what about the video? I don't see it done here unless someone can explain to me. i really don't want to lose any more quality when publishing a movie
Ok, I have the newest WLMM version, it doesn't find the profile, but it also doesn't give me the option for custom output settings for some reason, i've noticed screenshots of "custom settings" under the sharing group but it never says "custom settings"for me. Just the default output settings. How can i get my wlmm to work?
What's the output resolution you selected? I found out that Movie Maker doesn't like every resolution, and when a profile contains a resolution it doesn't like, then this profile is simply not displayed.
This is also the reason why I don't use the option "same as input", because if your input video has a "fancy" resolution, you won't be able to use your custom profile.
Also, I've just noticed that in the last Windows Live Beta, you can't use Windows Media Profiles...
Does your version of Movie Maker says "Beta"?
Anyway, with this new version, you can choose custom output settings directly from Movie Maker. There's no "lossless" or "variable bitrate" option, but you can choose a high bitrate.
Thanks, dude. Quick and to the point, you just saved me an evening.

Another option is to create a copy of an already existing profile and editing it !

Windows Live Movie Maker suck!! Don't even download it! Only download Windows Movie Maker 2.6 or 6.0 for vista to use it on Windows 7.

Can you create a lossless prx file for me and host it at rapidshare or file upload?
Because the program doesn't work with me.

In the first tab, choose "Quality VBR" for the video. In the second tab, set the video quality to 100.
Now, is it mathematically lossless? I don't know, but there isn't any visible quality loss.
