Yes, I'm allergic. I had to go and get shots to stop the irritation. It never stopped itching and burning for two weeks and in fact created raised pink lines up and down my arms and legs.
@dghergich Are you sure your allergic? When you touch the plants it injects folic acid into you through little hairs which cause stinging and irritation.
Thank you Susun for all the new videos! I am in need to a bit of clarification, when older nettle is no longer good to eat, are they still good to harvest for drying (and then make infusions with)? Or is it still better to dry the younger parts? Thank you!
Thickens hair texture, helps eliminate dandruff, aids in preventing hair
loss during chemotherapy and restores hair growth afterwards.
1/2 oz. dried nettle*
2 cups boiling water
1 Tbs. nettle root tincture
* leaf, stalk, and/or seed
Pour boiling water over nettle in jar, cover tightly and let sit overnight. Next morning, strain into a plastic bottle, and add tincture. Keeps only a day or two. Use as rinse after shampoo and conditioner, leaving it in hair
Prepare infusion of nettle. Strain out plant material. Add oil and vinegar to infusion. Keep in refrigerator between uses.
Nettle Infusion: Place 1 oz. dried nettle into a quart/liter jar. Fill the jar to the top with boiling water, put the lid on and let it steep for at least four hours at room temperature.
