Nice slideshow, but the problem with Soul Asylum is that when they did get paid they lost all their energy and passion...became the same as all the others.
Before that they were magical!
Oh, and they did get paid once they hit...big time!
Are you kididng me? Listen to all their albums. They never lost their passion they simply progressed naturally. If you can't hear the natural progression form And the Horse though to Candy from a Stranger then ultimately Silver Lining then I dont' know what to say. Guess you can be like all the other clueless folks who just scream "SELLOUT!" when a band matures and stops playing the thrash punk you loved so so much as a kid.
This song was old when I saw them in 92. The goo goo dolls opened up for them and were pretty cool. Goo Goo Dolls were on metal blade records at the time and played kind of a surf punk pop music. Also vic chesnutt was the first act. Pretty different show. I think Soul Asylum were on Saturday night live the week after I saw them playing somebody to shove. All in all pretty timeless band of good tunes and good musicians.
i just seen Soul Asylum three weeks ago,...an awesome band opened up for them called HIPNOTEHIGHS they were all dressed in solid plaids with youtube like videos playing above them...later in the show Hipnotehighs came out and played along with the band to this Song!
I remember this song use to give me the chills back in the day. Nice guys don't get paid....they get pooped on.
