  • The end is hilarious! I forgot about this great sketch!

  • 1:33 the dog chewing on itself awesome

  • Dog: Would you like to stay for lunch?

Kermit: Uh, how's their Moogoo Guy Pan?

Dog: Marvelous! - That part was funny!

It's was funny when Mother Hubbard "dropped out" of the picture at the end & the dog said, "That's one less." :)

  • Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard to feth her poor dog a bone. But when she got there, the cupboard was bare. So the dog ordered a pizza by phone! HA! HA! HA! :)

  • Old Mother Hubbard went to the Cupboard to fetch her dog a Bone But when she Bent over Rover took over and gave her a Bone of his own . Ha ha ha ha

  • They were geniuses. Comedy geniuses. Who thinks like that? "OK, so 'phone' rhymes with 'bone', so she'll give him a phone. And then while he has the phone, he'll call up & order Chinese." Brilliant. They made childern's television that didn't FEEL like it was children's television. It's sad what has become of SS. Just another Barney, Dora, Blue's Clues that's unbearable for adults to endure with their children.

R.I.P. CTW. Thank you for giving a whole generation an amazing sense of humor.

  • @anteaterattack I'm with you- that dog is MADE of flashbacks, apparently. I didn't even think I remembered the sketch & then -wham!- I'm hit with a face full of childhood.

  • The Cubberd was bear, And then her dog ate her.

  • LOL the dog is too imotional!

  • holy crap- that dog is giving me serious flashbacks....

  • I love how Kermit points out the fact that "bone" and "none" don't really rhyme anymore

  • Did Mother Hubbard die at the end?????

  • @Simplysims001 No, she fell through the floor.

  • mother hubbard is strong as hell lol

  • @ 1:20 the dog starts to howl, cry, or whatever, but its funny azz hell! LOL!!!

  • @lachondria81 howl.

  • Another memorable clip from Sesame Street.

  • Another memorable clip.

  • how does kermit whistle? he doesn't have lips to shape like an O

  • that dog is fat blue !!!! with fur ofc! anyone noticed??

  • *Lady Crashes* "Okay that's one less, make it only one eggroll.

    This is genius.

  • Nice! The old girl trips up and hits the dirt, and all they do is discuss what to do with her share of the order!

Well, I suppose that's what you get for being so deliberately facetious. I mean seriously, is anyone *actually* that daft?

  • okay are you ready? are you sure? okay here it goes.....That floor is STONED! hahahahahahaha im very intertaining!

  • Love it!!!!!!!!! lol Baby loves it!

  • Check out the dogs expression at 1:15. Such Drama!! LOL!!

  • lol egg rolls

  • Love Kermit's Swallow and Duck at the beginning.

  • Looks like Fat Blue turned into a dog.

  • something always going down round Kermit. Did he do a B&E? She didn't know he was in the house. 1:49

  • @3Doggface That's true. What's a B&E, and most of all, don't reporters usually need the owner's permission before entering the house?

  • I love all of these reports! I am officially obsessed!

  • Ja ja ja!!!!! Está buenísimo. No me canso de ver los cortos de la rana René.

    Awesome!

  • will someone please get this dog a bone

  • stone-bone thorne

  • mother Hubbard sure seemed surprised when she first saw Kermit.

  • 3:48 Mother Hubbard has fall into the hole! LOL!

  • Love it when she fell and LaMont said "That's one less."

  • The people who came up with these skits were geniuses. They would take something that kids commonly knew about (like a nursery rhyme) and blend it with a lesson to teach (how words can rhyme) and present it in a funny and interesting way too keep their attention while teaching them something. Again, they were geniuses. Of course, now that I'm a big "kid", watching these old skits I saw as a kid are that much more meaningful.

  • @40colby agreed 100000%

  • @40colby I couldn't agree more. Why don't today's kids take a lesson?

  • I have watched about a dozen of Kermit's "reports" and it's just apalling how unprofessional he is. He is a reporter, and not supposed to interfere. Just another example of how the Muppet media is trying to control the news we see.

  • How bout some sweet and sour chicken? lol Love the way kermit says he can eat her part lol.

  • oh poor dog...he can't even get a bone lol

  • XD! The dog calls up for chinese food!

  • Ahahaha the dog's expression at 1:17 LOL!!

  • oh look at that. went right through the floor

    lol

    XD

  • Cute doggy!

  • what is the name of the bird kermit is imitating when he whistles the bird call?

The one just before "swallow" and "duck".

  • A bobwhite

  • "here's a duck" hahaha

  • Even though he's a frog, when it comes to impersonating birds, I always thought Kermit was a little "cuckoo".

  • Lamont. what is the most unlikely dog name? Lamont. awesome!

  • she stole the bat phone lol

  • "Thats one less." Frank rocks. Lmfao. "Hows the Mogoo gai pan?"

  • Oh my god! Thank you for posting this. I had completelty forgotten about it until I saw Lamont. Then I remembered him getting mad and irritated at Old Mother Hubbard lol. The way he howled when the cupboard was bare was hilarious. I hope they got her out of that hole. lol.

  • how'd you like to stay for lunch?? sheesh i miss sesame street

  • i love the dog's accent lol

  • I'm just glad they didn't include the last part of the nursery rhyme in this. You know, the part that goes like this:

    "So she went to the store to buy him some bread;

But when she came back, the doggy was dead."

  • Actually, that was only the second part. I'm not sure how many parts there were altogether.

I'm not sure I saw this one as a kid, but there is something awfully familiar looking about that dog.

  • That opening was Priceless....

    "now my duck"

  • Mother Hubbard may be going senile.

  • I liked Mother Hubbard's surprised look when Kermit first approached her. Did she think he was going to rob her?

  • hahaha

    "a duck"

    "that's one less"

  • "Oh! Look at that went right down where the stone went!"

    LOL!

  • How's the Moo Goo Guy Pan? HAHA classic =o)

  • I love how she keeps pulling her Shawl and fixing it everytime Kermit comes over to talk to her..... like a good "old lady" would.... lol, lol, lol. Also love the Dog's accent ORDERING out Chinees....... lol, lol, lol...... PRICELESS VIDS..... Loved Sesame Street growing up..... :-)

  • The dog's name is Lamont. Does that mean his father's name is Fred Sanford and his aunt is named Esther?

Thanks for posting this classic segment.

  • I want that Dog! and I would still name it Lamont...

  • I hope the throne is ok, there.

  • Does anyone know if "Wong's Chinese Restaurant" sells orange flavored beef or duck?

  • LAMONT!

  • If there's any eggrolls left over save me some,oh and a fortune cookie.

  • oh dear that's one less for lunch.

  • Anyone know why Mother Hubbard dropped out at the end?

  • 1:38 has the answer. When she droped the stone it made a hole.

3:51 is where she fell into the hole.

  • that dog looks like the blue guy that grover like s to stalk.

  • lol i was wondering why the dog is the blue anything muppet.

  • This is great. Sesame Street needs to start doing this stuff again.

  • They'd never get a script this well written approved. It would need to be simplified because they feel little kids would never understand it.

they're probably right, but its still a shame they don't make skits this good anymore.

  • i just thought of something... she keeps bones in her cupboard?

peter thomas needs to look into this (forensic files).

  • everyone loves chinese food :)

  • Yes I would stay for lunch.

  • The dog looks like Rowlf! XD

  • A blue version of Rowlf lol!

  • Yeah! A blue version!

  • @teenangel93 Yeah a blue version of Rowlf all he needs is to loose the eyelids, have live-hands, and have Jim Henson or Bill Barretta's voice

  • Great! Just what I need. I'm expecting a call from Commissioner Gordon.

  • "Well, I can eat her part." This is one of the funniest News Flashes ever!

  • Jerry Nelson's Mother Hubbard's voice is a deadringer for Emily Bear from "A Muppet Family Christmas"

  • AWESOME. This is the best of Kermits News Flashes! Even as a kid, I use to love it when Kermit and the dog started ordering Chinese food.

  • You don't know how long I've waiting for someone to post this! Thanks!
