  • this version SUCKS compared to the Amiga version.

  • @gus0650 bearing in mind that all this sound is coming out of the internal beeper it is fucking incredible..

  • Thanks for the quick correction. Perfect video now! :)

  • @NoSpeechForTheDumb Oh you stalker :D

  • Since MS-DOS was built for the x86 microprocessor architecture, a 16 bit platform, the title of this video is wrong. I don't understand why people always associate awkward music with 8 bit systems.

  • Pc speaker for the win!!! :D This was the first computer game i ever played... i was 9 and just got a 286 IBM PS/1

  • @ZycaLaser I played thin on a 8086 IBMPS/2. It had a MCGA (VGA) but for some reason it used black and white CGA graphics LOL.

  • This is how I originally heard the song and like it way better than any other version. And no, there's no lag, there was no lag back then because we had real programmers.

  • The amiga version music sounds sacrilege compared to this. Hehehe! :D This is how it should sound like!

  • That's the real speaker sound. It just has too much bass cause it's not coming out of the ibm speaker system.

  • Xenox 2, forever <3

  • Cool aint heard this in years, what a great game this was, great old DOS music, certainly no lag here brilliant :)

  • Jesus the Amiga version is 100x better, well it was excepted

  • @GeneralJesh What do you think? Maybe that's because PCs DIDN'T have a sound chip, just a buzzer...

  • How the frig did PCs ever take off?!

  • This is by far the best version of the intro ever.

  • At first I couldn't make any sense out of it, then it got better.

  • kewl song

  • Hahaha:D Cool song tho ^^

    8-bit ftw!

  • Sound like it's lagging, but the proper music is like that, right? It's a good song imo.

  • @MrXarlable Could be lagging. My computer doesn't really have a good CPU :/

  • @Sakuukuli

I feel for ya,man,my computer doesn't have a good cpu either lol...

  • @Sakuukuli HAHA, you shittin me?

  • @McPfoot DOSBox is an emulator, it requires a pretty good CPU actually.

  • @Sakuukuli what lag???

thats 8 bit as it should be :D

  • @Sakuukuli That's the proper music from what I remember. DAANG it's been ages since I fired that game up. Hard as nails!

  • @MrXarlable Nah its absolutely perfect. Supposed to sound like that on primitive DOS from internal speaker. I grew up listening to this shit :-D

If u wanna hear the excellent original 'club/dance' version, youtube search 'John Carpenter - The End'

he's the original composer of the rif from assault on precinct 13 (1976) =)

  • @MrXarlable this is exactly how it sounded on my ibm 286 12mhz 640kb ram back in 1989.
