Not necessary, where the DRM fucks over a lot of us including myself, every time you download a game and don't purchase it, companies are losing money. If you download something to test run it, then purchase it, then that's understandable and they aren't using money. @TheMasterTelevision It's like a virtual disk drive, it is mainly created so if someone can't run a certain disk on their drive or don't even have a drive, they just somehow get the ISO file from their disc (it is basically the disk but in file format) and get it onto their PC's, then they can just "Mount" that file with Daemon tools and it will make your OS think that Daemon tools is your disk drive and it will work, it is very popular with pirates who just illegally download programs/ISO's.

You want to know what's worse than a stupid error message at 2:04? Not recieving an error and the game doesn't load. Half the time I can't get RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 to load. So I get a no CD crack and one expansion pack doesn't work at all (works just fine with the uncracked version). RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 suffers a similar thing but the no CD crack works with all expansion packs. There is indeed something wrong here.

I have an Alienware m11x gaming "netbook" with no disc drive. I am using a drive mounted over my network and I can't play the game I bought.

People who pirate the game don't have to worry about securom because it is already hacked or removed.

People who buy the game run into many problems, so they are forced to pirate or nearly pirate they game.

The shit that really gets to me is the anti-piracy built into Steam. I've stopped activating any game I can through Steam and only playing off the physical copy. I do this, because Steam accounts are well known for being cracked and stolen, I've had an account stolen without going on any sites or posting my account info anywhere. Games like Modern Warfare 2, which you can't play without being activated through steam, are account bound with no other options.
