found it! the seocnd story, is the older story, the Lord God, they called God "Yahweh" (YHWH I think is the actual name... if I remember correctly[porbbaly not]) but that name is too sacred to be said, so it was then changed to Lord

I believe it states Lord God because God was going to become the Lord of man's life. Also, I believe it shows us the 'human' side of God as we where made in His Image of course. Look at Gen. 3:8, it states that God was 'walking' in the garden. Also John 1:1-2 'In the beginning (similar to Genesis) was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (Jesus) was in the beginning with God.'
It's true that in the first part of Genesis it states God created it all and then in Genesis 2 it states that the LORD God comes into play. However, you will also notice that it says in Gen 2:4 'in the day the Lord God made earth and heavens.' If you look at the other verses, it says 'heavens and earth'. The wording order has been changed indicating that God is introducing Himself as a personal God, one who wishes to get to know man and get involved with him on the earth.

I love people who have questions about the bible and so on and obviously we don't know everything so I'll try my best. I've read Genesis many times and heard talks about the creation of our world, some good, some bad, but anyway. I gotta go to work soon but I'll 'try' to answer your last piece of information then I'll take time later to read your other stuff.
The more I read the passages the more in-depth I can go about it showing the inconsistency of it... And historically, there are two creation stories, and if you look at the name of God, or what God is called in the original text, God is referred to with two different names... even in the bible I have, it just says God in the first story vs., LORD God in the second story...
In the second story, it mentions that Eden was planted after Adam was created... showing that plants, trees with fruit, and what not were then created after Man... or came to be after Man was created, because the earth had no plants yet remember... as in Gen 2:5-6...
From Gen 1:12 There was no mention of a flood, or a mist before hand either, and if all these plants were created on the same day... and the "heavens" or space and the stars in space were created the next day... then how can it be that in Gen 2:4 say that earth and the heavens were created in the same day, and say that there was no vegetation yet in Gen 2:5...
Correction Gen 2:4 "... In the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens"
In Gen 2:5 "when no plant of the field was yet in the earth and no herb of the field had yet sprung up-for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth;"
When looking at those verses, we can see that it makes it look like God created man before there was even plants, but plants were already created when the earth was formed, and there was plants that had fruits as in Gen 1:12 "The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which if their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that is was good."
Also the order of which you are saying in your comment... in its' self not the correct order of the bible... in the first creation story, it doesn't say why Eve was created, but Man and Woman was created... and in the second Eve was created after all the animals were named by Adam... your respons in its' self is incorrect...
also... it says in Gen 2:4 "In the day that the Lord God made earth and heavens" now heavens also refers to space, and all the stars that were created on the 4th day... and Heaven it's self was created on the second day, where Earth was created on the 3rd day....
it says everything was made first then God made adam and eve in His own image. The story then says how the Lord made eve and why He made her, then it says that the animals where brought to adam to be named.
You are not looking at the whole story... Gen 2: 4-7 shows how there was still no plants and God caused a flood or mist to water the earth, THEN god created Adam... there is no mention of animals being created... and when looking at the verse 2:19, "So out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them..."

there are two creation stories, and Man(humans) are made in different orders... I read Gensis 1 and 2. You know the classic, 7 days of creation, but then in the second story, Adam was made before all the animals and Adam named all the animals and then God made Eve, vs on the 6th day, God created Man and Woman after everything else was created... =) inconsistancy...
The bible is inconsistant... it only took 2 chapters for me to find an error... that is sad...

Give a book about evolution to a religious person and what he will do is to seek the few areas in the book where evolution theories are unclear rather than the 99% where it's clear and conclusive.

Just so you know, I am a former atheist of about 11 years. Although I have no degree, I can read really well and have studied much. My major was Physics, although I never finished college, I didn't stop studying either. Now, if you think God's "power" had nothing to do with creation, then let me see you use your education and turn a bucket of dirt into a beautiful living rose! You can't use one of God's seeds or a plant clipping. You can have soil water sun and air, but you create the rose!

I believe it states Lord God because God was going to become the Lord of man's life. Also, I believe it shows us the 'human' side of God as we where made in His Image of course. Look at Gen. 3:8, it states that God was 'walking' in the garden. Also John 1:1-2 'In the beginning (similar to Genesis) was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He (Jesus) was in the beginning with God.'

It's true that in the first part of Genesis it states God created it all and then in Genesis 2 it states that the LORD God comes into play. However, you will also notice that it says in Gen 2:4 'in the day the Lord God made earth and heavens.' If you look at the other verses, it says 'heavens and earth'. The wording order has been changed indicating that God is introducing Himself as a personal God, one who wishes to get to know man and get involved with him on the earth.

And historically, there are two creation stories, and if you look at the name of God, or what God is called in the original text, God is referred to with two different names... even in the bible I have, it just says God in the first story vs., LORD God in the second story...

When looking at those verses, we can see that it makes it look like God created man before there was even plants, but plants were already created when the earth was formed, and there was plants that had fruits as in Gen 1:12 "The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which if their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that is was good."

You are not looking at the whole story... Gen 2: 4-7 shows how there was still no plants and God caused a flood or mist to water the earth, THEN god created Adam... there is no mention of animals being created... and when looking at the verse 2:19, "So out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them..."

there are two creation stories, and Man(humans) are made in different orders... I read Gensis 1 and 2. You know the classic, 7 days of creation, but then in the second story, Adam was made before all the animals and Adam named all the animals and then God made Eve, vs on the 6th day, God created Man and Woman after everything else was created... =) inconsistancy...

A lot of people had abused those who critize the movie. But think about it, why would they watch it if they strongly oppose believe in God? There is some sense of uncertainty in them. Let them "take in God's knowledge", and don't abuse them because they want to get to know God. (Matt. 5:3, John 17:3)

God give his creatian free will. Satan choose to fall from glory and so did humans. God did not make Adam and Eve to be stupid or controlled. I imagine they were innocent which is why we are to have faith like children. He warned them of the tree, he gave them choice not to eat of it.
