@naughtyredz It's roots, not rockers. Rockers is studio one rocksteady tracks re-recorded in the late 70's with roots lyrics over them.

@aakuster Well, it does have to do with Sly and Robbie, cause it started with them when they were in the Revolutionaries, recording at Channel One for groups like the Mighty Diamonds. You might say that the syncopated rim shots on the drums was part of this because of how Sly played, but the name "rockers" came about because they were re-doing "rocksteady" riddims with new vocals and songs over them that had more current lyrical topics. The word "rockers" was a reference to the rocksteady trax.
