Jfs an amazing guitarist, no doubt about that, but I would personally rather take away inspiration from and artist to add to my own style then just ripping some one else s' style completely, that's just boring but good video anyway man and good playing too
This is a really nice video lesson, but you can't teach how to play like the guitar greats. Technical and basic techniques are teachable, sure, but most of a legends sound comes straight from the soul, and the burning passion that they put into their playing. Hendrix, SRV, Gilmour, Page, Clapton, and Mr. Frusciante, can't be emulated. But, that is just my opinion. I know that isn't what you are trying to do with this video, so please don't take this as an insult, or me hating on your video.
@dvt1393 I agree completely. And also a guitarist should not try to replicate another's sound. However rhythmic patterns are universal, and the rhythms that John uses are what I am trying to convey through this lesson.
Hey man, dont listen to the negitive comments. I do understand were some of the negitive comments are coming from (tone), but all the people that make thoughs comments obviously missed the point of the lesson. It was a very good lesson and i learnt alot from it, thanks heaps for posting.... and me personally i dont mind the tone, but people have diff opinions so meh idk..... good job, keep it up. Peace and happieness.
If you don't like the lesson don't comment. Stop assuming this will help no one just because it hasnt helped you. We are all sorry that you haven't made it yet.
@Amnesia Street. The video poster was just giving some tips on how Frusciante plays. He is right on. He does play that little minor shape and throw the base notes in. Chill out man.
@AmnesiaStreet haha, if you dont like it then thats cool. Im not trying to make a point here, I'm just an amateur teacher supplying lessons to people on youtube. peace man
@AmnesiaStreet wowowoo we are all just trying to play better here, whats up with giving this guy shit when hes just sharing his knowledge? No shit he doesn't sound like john mother fucking frusciante, do you? Hes a fucking legend for a reason... if everyone can capture his tone and style so simply then he wouldn't be that great now would he. Btw the chord progression and accents are actually very frusciante. This particular one sounds so simliar to one of the transitions at slane castle.
@rodrigoconstantino When did I say that I think I can play like him? I mean the first line I say in this video is something among the lines of "I want to show you guys some ideas that John Frusciante uses..."
what were the chords you were playing?
