  • what were the chords you were playing?

  • why a mini-humbucker on the neck ?

  • @blackslash82 i found it useful back in the day...however now i'm not a fan

  • dress themselves was too much trouble (:

  • Nice man that is great please make more lessons in general. Plus that guitar sounds really nice and unique and is sexy as hell.

  • @farragut121 i greatly appreciate it man

  • you suck

  • Jfs an amazing guitarist, no doubt about that, but I would personally rather take away inspiration from and artist to add to my own style then just ripping some one else s' style completely, that's just boring but good video anyway man and good playing too

  • This is a really nice video lesson, but you can't teach how to play like the guitar greats. Technical and basic techniques are teachable, sure, but most of a legends sound comes straight from the soul, and the burning passion that they put into their playing. Hendrix, SRV, Gilmour, Page, Clapton, and Mr. Frusciante, can't be emulated. But, that is just my opinion. I know that isn't what you are trying to do with this video, so please don't take this as an insult, or me hating on your video.

  • @dvt1393 I agree completely. And also a guitarist should not try to replicate another's sound. However rhythmic patterns are universal, and the rhythms that John uses are what I am trying to convey through this lesson.

  • Voir John le jouer, c'est mieux ^^

  • nice :)

  • Hey man, dont listen to the negitive comments. I do understand were some of the negitive comments are coming from (tone), but all the people that make thoughs comments obviously missed the point of the lesson. It was a very good lesson and i learnt alot from it, thanks heaps for posting.... and me personally i dont mind the tone, but people have diff opinions so meh idk..... good job, keep it up. Peace and happieness.

  • why is your tone so bad?

  • @dpgiaca97 not the point of the lesson...

  • @licksforalltheplayas well it should be the point of the lesson.

"How to sounds like John Frusciante."

you're not even on the neck pickup!

  • @pipandrew My goal for the lesson was to focus on the rhythmic techniques and chord shapes he uses.

  • Good video bro :) Don't listen to the bad JF fans who only listen californication and otherside ;)

  • @tomasignacioo haha thanks man. I am still not sure why this video has been so controversial.

  • @tomasignacioo Good JF fans listen to californication, curtains, the slaughter, stone cold bush, dani california, knock me down, basically everything

  • Good video bro :) Don't listen to the bad JF fans who only listen californication and otherside ;)

  • Only John Frusciante can give lessons on how to play like John Frusciante.

  • its kind of like johns soft jams

  • is this a strat with bigger headstock , just like a jaguar ?

    looks a bit strabge dude

  • @mindlesspuppet94 many vintage strats have this shape

  • @mindlesspuppet94 It's called a 70's style headstock... 70'S strats had bigger Headstock.

  • @Commiteee yes i got it afterwards

  • @mindlesspuppet94 its a 70's style headstock (i think)

  • @Moralvorstellung yo momma sucks my shit

  • @Moralvorstellung yo momma sucks my

  • @Moralvorstellung yo mamma suckd my s h i t

  • @Moralvorstellung so what are you doing here??

  • If you don't like the lesson don't comment. Stop assuming this will help no one just because it hasnt helped you. We are all sorry that you haven't made it yet.

  • @Amnesia Street. The video poster was just giving some tips on how Frusciante plays. He is right on. He does play that little minor shape and throw the base notes in. Chill out man.

  • @AmnesiaStreet haha, if you dont like it then thats cool. Im not trying to make a point here, I'm just an amateur teacher supplying lessons to people on youtube. peace man

  • @licksforalltheplayas great playing man, even greater tolerance. respect and keep playing!

  • @AmnesiaStreet wowowoo we are all just trying to play better here, whats up with giving this guy shit when hes just sharing his knowledge? No shit he doesn't sound like john mother fucking frusciante, do you? Hes a fucking legend for a reason... if everyone can capture his tone and style so simply then he wouldn't be that great now would he. Btw the chord progression and accents are actually very frusciante. This particular one sounds so simliar to one of the transitions at slane castle.

  • @geoff1121 This is exactly what I was thinking

  • Nice lesson!

  • it sould be named HOW TO NOT PLAY LIKE JF. Dude, be a human.

  • @jfbiggestfan What does this even mean?

  • nice video dude!

  • awesome, thanks for the lesson!

  • @licksforalltheplayas Man, You POWNED rodrigoconstantino's face. and you're so true

  • Comment removed

  • @rodrigoconstantino When did I say that I think I can play like him? I mean the first line I say in this video is something among the lines of "I want to show you guys some ideas that John Frusciante uses..."

I'm just supplying examples man, no harm in that

  • is that a fender?

  • @johnkehr95 It is.

  • thanks :)
