@Falestorianer okay :) Well I think that's rubbish, and it's the biggest problem with formal training. Your muscles will do what you teach them to do, and restraining someone on something so irrelevant as fingering is much more of a bottleneck than anything else. Yup clean technique is really important. It makes the difference between an amateur and a professional. But everyone is different, and I'm betting Mozart never thought about it. By the way read the description, this was played by ear :)

@DopeyCatfish there arent any sheets because the song is so ridiculously easy, you can pick apart the the chords just by listening to song without trying, they r E B G# and F# not in that order, they are arpeggiated in a very simple fashion, and the chords themselves are played by the other hand, the left hand. the vocal melody is all in the G# minor scale, because all the chords are in the key of E/G#m, and there you have it. done.

But that's not even the point, who even said that he cant read music in the first place?I have a good friend who can play by ear, and he can read sheet music really well. The point is that when people play a song by ear, they almost never transcribe their brilliant work, in this case, it transcends this and its pure brilliance makes up for the fact that there are no sheets for this version

@Chrispy0000 I wasn't suggesting that he can't read sheet music, and I'm aware that being able to read it helps in a vast majority of ways when it comes to learning composed pieces and writing your own music. I was just saying that I thought that knowing your way around scale positions on any instrument was a more fundamental skill. Most of the time when songs are transcribed by ear, they suck because the person playing has no idea how to work with the key they are playing in.

Most people that play by ear hear the music and know the notes on a piano, they dont necessarily need to know the key it's in or anything, but i wont argue that it certainly helps.
