I think this scene is actually kind of emblematic of the entire movie, in that they show the fun/experimentation that all the girls must have had when on tour, but they're also unflinching in their portrayal of drug use. I certainly don't think any of it was glamourised, but rather was shown in an accurate light to what really happened.
