  • The Amboy Dukes made cover of this song, check it.

  • There is no popmusic - whether it is music or it is pop.

  • Love it. However, having said that, the Van Morrison version is better.

  • The key of harp?

  • I remember a great night at Newcastle-upon-Tyne City Hall in the 60's with Big Joe, Jimmy Reed and John Lee Hooker. Fantastic!

  • Check out alison's kitchen if you love your grass to be blue with loads of r@ b the old school type

  • sorry but classic CD??? how's that classic record over disc any day!!

  • Lot of simple reality here.

  • @tnb35:

The (imb) stands for imbecile, you (imb).

  • Johnny,

Big Joe was playing at the Red Fox with Mac Banks during this time. I asked Mac about five years ago if he had recorded any of their duets. That was about the time that Miss. State students and their girl friends "discovered" Honky Tonkying at the Fox . Mac said that there were something like twenty songs recorded, but that they were all lost in the fire that destroyed the Red Fox . The Ernest Tubb photos were lost, too. Check out Mac's classic, Crawford After Midnight.

  • AROUND 1978 BIG JOE CAME TO SEE ME TO FIX HIS OLD AMPLIFIER. I DIIDN'T KNOW WHO HE WAS BUT I DID TO GET HIM TO PLAY A FEW TUNES FOR ME.

HE HAD HIS OLD 9 STRING GUITAR.SENSE HIS WAS BROKE I LET HIM PLAY IN MY FENDER SUPER REVERB. IT WAS GOOD.

    JOHNNY GENTRY CRAWFORD MS.

  • Love the inginuity of an 8 string guitar! Only John Martyn in the 70's, can match him for the amount of gaffer tape and loose cables. Relic that!

  • Does anyone know who the harp player is on this track?

  • the harmonica player on this track is John Lee (Sonny Boy) Williamson

  • it says sonny boy. Has a few riffs that I would think walter horton on though, not sonny boy.

  • @rogeliorulo That's John Lee Williamson (Sonnyboy Williamson 1) They released a half and half cd a while back. I got it and it's great. do you know anyone with the Big Bill Bronnzy Washboard Sam cd?

  • what dose "(imb)" mean

  • I love the blues its the shit yaa!!!!

  • i always thoth this was a budgie song,my god this guy is god, sweet

  • A lot of people have confused who wrote this, almost every rock group has recorded it. I read it was the most covered blues song ever. Try Ted Nugents version. I'm not a huge Nugent fan but he did a great cover of this.

  • good 1

  • The real roots of our (mostly crap) popmusic; I rather stick to the old masters

  • Amen to that pipoclown2 . Whenever I want to escape the crap they call music nowaday's I simply dig into my classic blues CD collection.

  • I saw Big Joe Williams in the 60's with his 9 strig guitar. He was one of the best.

  • one of my favourite !

    Don't know why ? LOL.

    Thank you very much.

    Steph.
