  • What a dope.. Because of his fiduciary responsibilities to the people of South Carolina sparks flew and he fell into the arms of the Argentinian. And then the dope is down crying like a baby in South America.

    Its a few years later now, but The Ex-Wife is looking sharp these days. No news on the dope....

  • Tom Joyner and J talked a bunch of B.S about the Gov., now Tom is down in S.C. becking for Gov Sanfords help. People have sex...sometimes it ISN'T with their wifes. Don't re-elect him. The socialist left doesn't get that...they'll keep their corrrupt pliticians: Bill Clinton, Charlie Rangle, Tim Guitner and Van Jones...no, wait, they did get rid of HIS Communist ass!!!

  • poor baby mark! typical politician instead of working for the people he was working for himself, what a looser! looser! looser!

  • Lay of the dude.

  • What a piece of shit. He just sounds like he's full of crap - over and over. He admits he fucked up (only because he got caught) but is trying to justify it in some way. And the fact that he keeps throwing "God's Law" and the bible out there. Typical!

  • Cowardly politicians, such as Sanford, typically USES holy things just as love and the bible, for their own selfish use, political purpose and greed. Religion is a good thing on its own but it's given a bad name because of (evil) human beings who uses them for their own causes. This is no exception. How can he himself use example of King David to his own mistake, Shameless! It's for others to bring up to perhaps console him of his guilt. But it's very clear this person has no conscience.

  • He talks about the matters of the heart- bull#%*t - What about the hearts of his four young children?

    What about the heart of the women who took him all the way, running his political campaigns? What about the heart of a totally devoted wife and mother?

    What about the dark heart of this stupid

    homewreaker - Maria Belen Chapur

    You SELFISH bastards !!!

  • Spanish lessons that went too far.

  • His words of empathy are more for the "other woman" than his wife.I wonder when the rest of the e-mails and cell phone logs will be coming out! There's more to this!

  • I feel that,if you have martial problems.You can go to your own spouse, your family,priest,a counselor.He's sounds like he's still in love with her.He allowed this to happen when you have a 8yr friendship with someone your wife doesn't know about.Giving her marital advice-what a poor excuse!

  • I usually don't feel so much for these public situations, but this time, I thought, "Poor lady, she could do better than this yap."

  • We are always so sorry when we get busted.

  • When you work on something, like this guy states, you stay away from the source of the problem until you figure out what you are going to do. I know, easier said. Scumbag.

  • this man goes on and on please get to the point. I highly doubt he was in argentina crying more like getting it on!!!!

  • 1:24 "I had see her three times during that, uh, whole... sparking thing."

    Wow, I can see why a woman would fall for his poetic grasp of language.

  • Gov Mark ("Uh, Uh, Uh....") Sanford just loves the Spanish cho-cho. Mrs. Sanford is the mother of Mark's four sons----Mark will always have the fondest regard for her but wants no more of that cho-cho.

    And he is the last man she wants to tap her floofie----not today, not tomorrow, not ever. They are over-mire!

  • Well, all I can say is, I have a new-found respect for McCain. For all his flaws, he never ran on a platform of "family values". He really was the best the republicans had to offer, all things considered. IMHO

  • He couldn't because he had already done his dirt to his FIRST WIFE with CINDY!

  • What makes this story funny is the Onion clip that was posted early March. You-Tube the clip....

    Congressman Makes Preemptive Apology For Extramarital Affair

    by the Onion

  • Between all the scandals out of Wall Street, the banking industry and our politicians we're looking more than a little ridiculous these days. I heard a lot of sniping GOP senators over the last few days talking about Obama and Iran and his lack of GOP style "moral leadership".....come again (in a male page or men's airport bathroom or in a male prostitute with a bag full of meth)???

  • By "crying the last 5 days in Argentina" he means banging hot Argintinian arse....hilarious that these clowns can't even keep things truthful during a mea culpa. Just fess up with all the dirty laundry before in comes out in the next few days with abuse of taxpayer dollars, the REAL history with "this person" and god knows what else....get on it media!

  • what a douche, he can't keep a relationship secret? How the fuck can you run a state then?

  • He should resign yesterday.

  • Why should he resign, burn? I'm against him and pretty much everything he represents, but we've developed this nasty republican habit of dragging peoples personal lives into the professional arena.

  • Because he wanted Clinton to resign when all that stuff went down and he was derelict in his duties as the Governor of his state when he went missing for a week. IMO he does his party a disservice by staying on because he weakens their approach to family values. I don't agree with that party but I respect it.

  • I have no respect for the GOP. Also, the comparison with Clinton is out of place. Clinton was a multi-tasker. At the same time Monica was blowing him, he was on the phone negotiating deals and making decisions. This numb skull left the country to cry on the shoulders of his lover. And how do we know that she is not an agent of some foreign secret services. He admitted he was in the habit of consulting her.

  • He will resign. His position is untenable. The story won't go away until he goes. I can't wait for the late night talk shows.

  • the two girls with the skeptical grins in the background on the left are awesome

  • you do know why they are back there...sanfords ppl just picked them out of the crowd, put a bunch of innocent looking you ppl back there as the backdrop, and they obviously are like "what is this BS...get me out of here"....

  • ahahahahahahaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

  • nice details from his emails to "maria"

    You have a particular grace and calm that I adore. You have a level of sophistication that so fitting with your beauty. I could digress and say that you have the ability to give magnificent gentle kisses, or that I love your tan lines or that I love the curve of your hips, the erotic beauty of you holding yourself (or two magnificent parts of yourself) in the faded glow of the nights light - but hey, that would be going into sexual details ..

  • I wonder who paid for the ticket....my guess is the taxpayer...

    hahahahah

  • (^o^)/ Tango Koochie!!!!!!

  • "That whole sparking thing."

    These guys are just too much. Jesus!

  • You cheat on your wife in another country, not telling anybody where you were and

    what you where doing. And you did not

    accept any President OBAMA stiumus

    money to assist the people of South

    Carolinam for bogus reasons. Now you

    tried to explain your Republician values to

    the people of South Carolina and the nation. President Obama is a real man,

    in policy direction and husband actions!

  • I bet she send him erotic emails. Like Sanny, I will show you my kuchi

  • Tango Koochie Kooter. Muy Caliente!!!!!

  • oh dios mio me es pero es rojo zapatos

  • I blame gay marriage.

  • yea...these GO'ers really believe in the sanctity of marriage =P

  • A Republican "family values" hypocrite????

    Really?????

    I am shocked.

  • LOL.

  • lordy. that made me want to cover my ears and sing row row row your boat ...over and over.

  • There is no way I'd let his sorry ass come back home. Take him for all you can Mrs. Sanford! People make mistakes but please, on tv like that. No way.

  • sad day for gop..again********

  • what a DOOOOOOOFUS!!!

  • The last person leaving the GOP please turn out the lights!

    ~~~~~~~Flush, the Party's over~~~~~~~
  • LOL....that whole sparking thing says Mark Evita Sanford.
    No wonder the Gopers are up in arms when Barry goes on a foreign trips they are scared he is going to cut them out of some cheap tail.
  • i have to say... that was the most earnest i've seen a politician in a long time.
  • I don't really understand why people are joking about this so much. Sure, he might be being hypocritical because he's a republican, but affairs are terrible things on families. I don't think he should resign (it's his family's business, not the government's.) but he definitely needs to see a family councillor.
  • his wife should have called joey greco.
  • ha!
  • if they have an illegitimate kid, could they have a sitcom called "Sanford & Son"? oh wait, already taken.
  • *rimshot*
  • nice save. i was dying.
  • of all the people, especially politicians who have admitted to an affair, this man stands as one who seemed to show an element of sincerity you never see with a politician. Doesn't excuse his behaviour, but he did seem somewhat genuine, maybe his wife won't kick him to the curb.
  • Don't cry for him Argentina, lol
  • damn you. that was going to be my next joke.
  • now wait a minute... first of all Argentinian women are hot, and isn't there some kind of 100 mile rule for fidelity?
    Oh yeah, not if you are a bible thumping, family values hypocrite. Sanctity of marriage my ass.
  • I do not believe a word! I want to see her, on Maury. With all of the lies, it is hard to accept this story. Maury is more truthful, compared to Congress. That does not say much, politicians.
    "The wisdom of any society results in chaos, when acted upon by fools."
  • He may, only may, have poor moral conduct. But he could still run a state just fine. To his goverened there are more importent things to judge.
  • You know that.. and I know that.. but, they don't know that.
    If only the republicans would drop this whole Godly holier than thou attitude. Hell, Dems have no problem with shit like this(See Bill Clinton).. but when the republicans whine about bible morals we have to act like it matters.
    If the GOP drops this, we'll drop it to.. fact.
  • Selfish bastard. Once someone chooses to become a public official of such high standing they have chosen to commit every moment of their term in office to serve the people you represent and the people who's lives he effects during his political affairs. As far as I'm concerned being a public official means sacrificing your personal life to serve the people who have granted you the power to represent them. It's a disgrace so many of our public officials don't understand their political duty.
  • Okay, granted. But when does the personal and the political lives intersect and does on forfeit that once they run for office? Whom I sleep with shouldn't have a bearing on me serving the people - unless the people are sleeping with the same person as I...
  • I think one does more or less forfeit their personal life when they run for political office (varying on the esteem of the position). It is naive for someone who's job it is to be a public representative to think they don't have to sacrifice there private life. Plus he was supposed to be doing "business" in Argentina so in this case it does have bearing on his service. Even if not, the fact that he kept his affair secret is what matters. Transparency is needed for democracy to function.
  • Yes, to a degree I can agree with that, but perhaps we should stop being so judgemental in that particular regard. If our representatives supposedly represent us, then how many of us actually live up to the standards that we expect others to, honestly, and are what we seeing a reflection of what we've become as a society?
    Now, as for Sanford neglecting his obligation to his state, that's another thing. Transparency is needed in the operation and affairs of state, not affairs of the heart.
  • As for Sanford's obligations, if there was a clear distinction between Sanford's private and public life then lack of transparency in one realm wouldn't necessarily leech into the other. However, as a public official, there exist no clear distinctions. Acts of hiding the truth, in any way, are not behaviors we, as citizens of a republic, should be willing to let a public official do.
  • And seeing how we, the republic, react to such truths gives those a reason to keep their secrets hidden.
    We all have them and public officials aren't made of superior genetic engineering or have superpowers, but we seem to elevate them to some sort of status when they are a representation of the people they serve - no more, no less.
    We can't handle the truth and until we can, there will be those who are amongst us who have deep secrets indeed. You can't govern human nature.
  • The GOP is breathing a collective sigh of relief: Sanford only cheated with a woman - not a male hooker or a teenage boy!
  • wildpeach, its not so much unrealist expectations we place on them, but especially with republicans at times expectations they are so vocal about meeting and what they stand for, i mean, because of the conservative pillars (religion, and we are holy , etc. etc.) when it comes out that I dunno, a republican senator is having sexual contact with a male aid, or a repub, senator was propositionin a male for a bj in a bathroom, its somuch more apalling, esp. becuz of the type of things, like homosxua
  • No disrespect, but if you believe such things that come out of any politician's mouth, of any political affiliation, you should know right then and there they are liars and probably guilty of such conduct they proclaim such an aversion to.
  • Spectacular Flameout
    GOP
  • Ah, it was the 'zone of protectiveness' that led to this. Maybe he was in the 'cone of silence' for the past six days?
  • Wow..I was on 7day hike...in Argentina. HE HAS DISGRACED THE NAME SANFORD!!
  • God... God... Sounds like a non meaningful metaphor. Get a pair and own without sounding like a phony
  • If politicans are mortal men and capable of the same weaknesses as us all, why are we suprised and shocked when they fail to meet the unrealistic expectations that we place on them?
    Sure, you should have morals and scruples - we all should - but how many of us actually live by them? We all fall in life and I'm beginning to wonder if we haven't gone to far in our expectations.
    I realize we hold our officials to a higher standard, but if we were to examine every detail and disqualify folks,
  • we wouldn't have anyone left to run the government and I doubt if many would qualify.
    There's some offenses that are flat-out unexcusable, but infidelity in a marriage shouldn't automatically disqualifiy a person from public office, no matter what their political affiliation.
    I think we need to ask ourserves if the offense prevents the person from doing their duties or it is truly a personal matter? Would I trust Sanford around my wife? Nope, but that doesn't mean he can't do his job.
  • It's not the transgression.
    It's the hypocrisy.
  • Unrealistic expectations? Really? How hard is it to identify how long you're going to be out of the country when you occupy such a significant government position?
    And seriously, woe-is-you that you can't keep your fucking dingle in your pants on father's day when you're supposed to represent the "party of morals". Boo fucking Hoo.
  • I'm speaking in terms of the infidelity, not the dereliction of duty for which he SHOULD be held accountable for. If he can't take the heat, he shoud get out of the kitchen.
    As for as morals, I don't see it as a GOP or Democrat problem, it's a human problem and I dare say there are many who are immune from sin or hypocrisy. Is Sanford a dog? Yup, but he's his wife's dog, not mine nor yours. Should he step down? Yes, but not for the infidelity.
  • It's not the cheating that is disgusting. We all know politicians cheat.
    It's that the GOP holds themselves up as paragons of virtue. They call themselves the "moral majority" and the "party of Christ" and all that nonsense.
    But in reality, they are no more moral than anyone else.
    It's the sheer hypocrisy of the GOP that makes them disgusting.
  • I agree, the hypocrisy that's affected both parties needs to stop, but that's what happens when you place people on pedestals. They never belonged there in the first place.
    We've seen instances such as this happen time and time again and it amuses me to no end to see the shock, indignation and outrage that follows everytime, as if we're surprised. We've seen and heard all of this before.
  • mmm.. I think he is still lying. I think he went to go fuck some whores.(._ .)
  • i think you are wrong. he was down there getting his effiving and screeching on with a parrot outfit and some young boys
  • I'm not bothered as much by the fact that he cheated on his wife or on the whole is a bad father since he abandoned his wife and kids on fathers day to be somewhere else... I'm more disturbed by his complete unprofessionalism in just taking off for 4-6 days and not leaving anyone in charge as 'acting governor'. Any other person would have gotten fired if they pulled a stunt like that...why should it be any different for him..
  • Typical repug hypocrite.
  • man hypocrisy has been taken to a new level...
  • ヾ(^∇^) Total Moron!
  • His answer seemed incredibly earnest.
  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA that make me laugh
  • Too much information, in my opinion, but this has happened to quite a few Americans.
    Now, should he resign? Considering the nature of his offense and the virtues one expects from an elected official, perhaps he should but maybe we need to have a conversation in America on what we expect from our elected officials, as no one is immune. Can we realistically expect mortals to not succumb? Some matters are personal in nature, does that lessen the impact or effectiveness of their performance?
  • "There's a certain irony to this." A conservative Rep cheating on his wife? No, I think Irony DIED
  • I think it's creepy to see people make their personal lives so public.. But ofcourse its logical if your personal life is so in contradiction with your political views... Being a hypocrit is hard sometimes....
  • Could have try to keep it private, but it would have come out. This way hes saying it first so he should only have to talk about it once instead of giving 3 different versions to come to the same out come!
  • I'm just glad he isnt gay.
  • So if i am a Christian and I kill you and feed your balls to yourself, God will forgive me? Sign me up!
    Shut up you fucking moron.
  • feed him his own balls?!? HAHA,
  • He's a republican he may secretly like that stuff.
  • lol
  • Oh, so being Christian allows you to sin, knowing that you will be forgiven anyways? That sounds too good to be true!
    And BTW, liberals can be christians too. The 2 are not mutually exclusive.....
  • what an amazingly selfish man
  • If he was worrying about something becoming a front page story he should not have disappeared for 5 days
