Fast Down picking isn't easy and it gives cool sound. But that ''cool sound'' doesn't fit to any song, any solo. You know what i mean. That's why we have other kind of picking. If something is created for alternete picking, don't change it. However, you're really good, keep playing ;>

@bkm504 Just a matter of training it. I personally couldn't play without my pinky: I use it more than my third finger. Probably not a good way to be either, but I'm relatively happy with my playing. only play simple black/death metal, so doesn't really matter. Good cover anyway

Lol, I recommend you learn to alternate pick, idk if you're into Avenged Sevenfold but both "Afterlife" and "Beast and the Harlot" solos are alternate picked, it just shows how fast you can be.
